I have learned that 8 weeks is the absolute minimum. She was trying to make a quick buck. They suffer from behavioral issues when taking away from their mother and siblings. My dog was aggressive his entire life to strangers as a result even with training. I loved my dog but wish I had gone to a reputable breeder. He also suffered from eye problems. If I could give less then a 1 I would.

My experience with Mac's American Bulldog/Dogue de Bordeaux has been an absolute nightmare. I…read morebought a Dogue de Bordeaux from Rachel Mcmillion about 4 years ago, and the experience has devastated both myself, and my wife. It all started when we received the dog, and later realized that he had been separated from his mother far too young--this is obviously in the interest of the business owner to move "product" in and out as fast as possible. If you are familiar with dog psychology, you will know that separating a puppy from its mother too early leads to a host of problems for the dog later on in life. Soon after the puppy started to grow, we noticed that it was having discomfort walking and being on its hind legs. It was subjected to an x-ray, only to find that the puppy was already severely dysplastic at only 6 months of age. Upon notifying Rachel at Mac's Dogue de Bordeaux, she told me that she has never had a puppy with hip dysplasia, which is an obvious lie. She then offered to send me a second puppy as compensation. That's evidence enough of a puppy mill. She also informed us that she had never had litter with the father and mother of our puppy before, so she was ethically okay with selling puppies from unproven parents. Through medication and therapy we were able to keep our dog happy and active for a few years, but then he started experiencing more severe discomfort. At that point, we decided to opt for an expensive Total Hip Replacement surgery to help him move better, but the damage to his psyche and way of being had already been done. Due to his being in constant pain, he is very aggressive with strangers, finicky, panicky, and unpredictable. This is also due to his early separation from his mother. We are now at the point where we are considering putting the dog to sleep due to both his drastically negative effect on our lives, and his lack of potential for leading a normal life. We have tried with 5 different trainers and all of them have said they'd consider putting him to sleep. The worst part is, when Rachel was initially faced with the truth about our dog's problems, she really didn't seem to care. Spare yourself years of anguish and suffering, and look for a reputable breeder in your area who is trustworthy, ethical, and puts the dogs before the sale. Mac's American Bulldog and Dogue de Bordeaux is not that breeder.

I've known for a while that there's a thrift store somewhere in the area run by people from my…read morechurch. Last week, I finally realized it was the one I pass by almost every day. (I'm a bit slow on the uptake. don'tjudgeme.) Hours are as follows: M-R: 9 am - 5 pm F: 9 am - 2 pm (3 pm?) Sat: closed (church!) Sun: 12 pm - 4:30 p.m. I was in the market for some warm jackets/coats, because I really only had one warm jacket (yep, one) to keep me alive through the winter, and what if something happened to it!?!? I've also basically been wearing my shoes into the ground, so I figured a pair of boots might be nice for the winter. And yes, retail therapy is a thing. There's a rack out on the porch with free clothes (just don't take the hangers), and the store is somewhat divided into two sections. The left side has mostly kids' clothes and a bunch of warm jackets and the side you enter from has all other clothes + shoes. There are books and various types of food to the right. :O My friend happened to be working there the day before I was planning on going, so I told him what I was looking for and he texted me pictures and prices. Twas pretty awesome. There were a lot of wool jackets that I would have loved to get, but I was way too short and/or shrimpy for them. This wasn't too much of a problem though since I found plenty of other things. :D! For $34.98, I obtained the following: -Red heels that I can actually walk in -Super comfy dark brown heels that I can wear to clinic (yay!) -Leather ankle boots (black) -Leather knee-high boots (black) -Super warm blue winter jacket -Super comfy beige hoodie -Super warm maroon vest -Leather jacket (originally from Yarid's, which I cannot afford) (I also picked up a free sweater from the porch.) Basically, the shoes/regular clothes were $2-3, the jackets were $5 and the leather jacket was $10. I am rather ecstatic over my finds! :] Everyone there is super nice/friendly. Definitely stop by if you're looking for great deals! Cash or check only! [Edit] In response to the review below me (apparently, everywhere you go = a 1 star rating)...in what way do they "do absolutely nothing for the community" and how are they greedy people? They foster kids who have been pulled from drug-addicted homes, host free cooking classes for the community to teach them how to make healthy + delicious meals, operate a school and raise money for families who have fallen on hard times, which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of people out there. Please don't slander others when you have no legitimate reasoning behind it.
