While I am inside the tiny "store" I am greeted by live chicks, and feed for a wide spectrum of animals: dogs, cats, horse, chickens, pigs, birds, rabbit and small animals. Also bedding and hay and then add in gifts and accessories. All in a very small shop. Whether you are a small or large hobby farm, check out their website and it will give you lots of info about all they offer. And the pricing is really good. Drive up, pay and they load your car. The steps inside are small and old, no real accessibility, but everyone who works here is helpful. I have barely scratched the surface of what Merton Feed does. It is so great to have an old-fashioned no-nonsense feed store to shop instead of the big box places. It is absolutely worth the drive.

Prices are comparable to what I've found elsewhere, but HEFP gives me two things I can't find anywhere else and that's the aforementioned selection and the warm welcome from the store cat... similar to your typical bodega cat but friendlier. The owner (or at least the person I believe to be to be the owner) is sweet is a gem and can point you in the right direction if you're looking for recommendations.
