My Mom, bestie & I stopped in here when we headed up to Embden, ME. My Mom has been in here before…read more(many times) & had told me this location is one of the bigger ones. My bestie had never been to a Marden's before. This location is bigger than other locations that I've been in but I feel what makes it bigger is their furniture section which is HUGE. They also have a pretty big crafting material section too. I did see some brand name shoes in the shoe section. I picked up this super cute black with white striped backpack that I used as my carry on bag for my plane ride back home which after using it I was in more awh with it. Great price too! I saw a bunny in a shopping cart that was friendly & two doggies with their owner....must of been bring your pet to Marden's day?? lol Bathrooms were clean as they have some out front & in the back. I was surprised that they really didn't have a big beauty product section for shampoo's, conditioner's, body wash, etc. I did find a cat treat toy that I had found at a different location when I was home visiting in April that I told my bestie she had to buy for her cats & I got one for my co-worker. My bestie found a pair of VANS that she purchased for a great price & loves. I wasn't super impressed with this location. It also seemed that someone may have been caught stealing because when we were leaving their were undercover security & police causing a commotion. Marden's are ALWAYS WORTH stopping in!!

Growing up hearing the commercial jingle, "I should have bought it...... when I saw it..... at…read moreMardens" - It's a Maine thing and that jingle holds true. If you see a deal that you really want....don't hesitate, buy it, because it WILL be gone within a week or so. This location is VERY easy to find. A repurposed Kmart building, I believe... It's right off the highway, in fact you can see it from the off ramp to the right. There is plenty of parking even when it's crowded. I have never been to this location around the holiday, but I have driven by, and it is always packed! This locally owned retail chain, sells overstock, liquidation and salvage items. We have seen things from Amazon as well. It's usually so random, although they have seasonally appropriate items as well. When we have the time and energy, we like going through the clearance aisles...yes, they have clearance aisles in a discount store. The clearance aisles are only organized by the percentage off and so it's chaotic. Bring patience and a sharp eye for deals. We have gotten electronic peripherals and accessories. We also bought some great yard deals. While we didn't buy them, they had Robotic Lawn mowers with batteries for sale. This store is quite large and have things like furniture, appliances....so much stuff. If you are a patient bargain hunter, that doesn't mind being around people, you may like this store. Worth at least one visit.

Waited over an hour and half for pickup while others just showing up arrived and got their order…read moreright away. Called the number and turns out it doesn't work. Horrible customer service, will definitely be going elsewhere for my needs.

It's taken me a few years to even write about this as it was such an awful experience I wasn't…read moreready to relive it. For sake of space I will make a long story short, I had a very traumatic miscarriage in the bathroom at the Waterville store when I was shopping with my 3 year old and 10 month old a few years ago, instead of immediately calling 911 (despite a neighboring stall screaming for help when they witnessed what was happening) they sent a young girl to help me. I explained to her that I was having a miscarriage and that I was concerned I was bleeding out (as I had had a previous previa with a prior pregnancy) and the bleeding wasn't stopping... she began panicking and handing me rolls of paper towels, I told her that the paper towels weren't working and she went and got 3 bath towels, which helped control the bleeding until my husband arrived to rush me to the hospital. While he ran to put the children in the car she brought me a wheelchair and she assured him we would be right behind him. Unfortunately instead of walking me out she instead BROUGHT ME TO A REGISTER bloodied and bleeding out TO CHECK ME OUT FOR THE TOWELS I HAD USED TO TRY TO STOP THE BLEEDING! I'll never forget handing her the credit card and seeing the blood on my hand and the card, as people stared at me wondering why I was covered in blood... At the time this happened I was going through enough with the miscarriage I didn't want to relive it to complain, but my mother who met me at the hospital was up in arms about it, she put in a call and never heard back... which shocked me, so when I was able I wrote to Walmart an email expressing my concern for future customers who have an emergency. I did not blame the young girl, I still don't, she tried her best, but I blame a lack of training and management. There was no way this girl was a manager of any sort, as I would hope anyone in a management level position would know to call 911 when someone was bleeding out, and that at the very least you don't bring a person who is on their way to the hospital to the cash register or delay care for any reason, much less to check out $5 bath towels they used to try to control bleeding and minimize others exposure to blood... my ultimate disappointment in the store and the company came when I too never got a response to my story/request for explanation on how this occurred. I can only hope they are now under new management, and that my story at least internally led to emergency training . I've attached a portion of my report for reference. I also have the gory emails and letters that I never heard back on.

They were not standing around chatting with each other. They were very customer focused. Excellent engagement. Selection of offerings is really great. We were here to look at Keen brand footwear for us and rain boots for the kids. They had so much to choose from. The rain boots for kids were decently priced, as were the crocs. The Keen footwear, was the same price as regularly priced items online. Definitely not discounted. After looking at the clothes/footwear, we looked at the toys and crafts section and were able to pick up some fun activities for the afternoon. Water paint pens and a bluey coloring book and unicorns and rainbows. I was able to pick up some of my favorite Tea and it was cheaper than Hannaford. Bigelow brand, decaf earl grey tea. They also had yummy Wilbur's Chocolates (A local brand based out of Freeport Maine). The register area was set up to handle a lot of customers. They have fun bits and bobs to look at while waiting. The staff working the register were so nice, friendly and giggly. Parking - easy- shares lot with other businesses. I loved the shopping experience and I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Also, lots of different food and snack options with a surprising selection of spices! Don't miss it!
