My Mom, bestie & I stopped in here when we headed up to Embden, ME. My Mom has been in here before…read more(many times) & had told me this location is one of the bigger ones. My bestie had never been to a Marden's before. This location is bigger than other locations that I've been in but I feel what makes it bigger is their furniture section which is HUGE. They also have a pretty big crafting material section too. I did see some brand name shoes in the shoe section. I picked up this super cute black with white striped backpack that I used as my carry on bag for my plane ride back home which after using it I was in more awh with it. Great price too! I saw a bunny in a shopping cart that was friendly & two doggies with their owner....must of been bring your pet to Marden's day?? lol Bathrooms were clean as they have some out front & in the back. I was surprised that they really didn't have a big beauty product section for shampoo's, conditioner's, body wash, etc. I did find a cat treat toy that I had found at a different location when I was home visiting in April that I told my bestie she had to buy for her cats & I got one for my co-worker. My bestie found a pair of VANS that she purchased for a great price & loves. I wasn't super impressed with this location. It also seemed that someone may have been caught stealing because when we were leaving their were undercover security & police causing a commotion. Marden's are ALWAYS WORTH stopping in!!

Growing up hearing the commercial jingle, "I should have bought it...... when I saw it..... at…read moreMardens" - It's a Maine thing and that jingle holds true. If you see a deal that you really want....don't hesitate, buy it, because it WILL be gone within a week or so. This location is VERY easy to find. A repurposed Kmart building, I believe... It's right off the highway, in fact you can see it from the off ramp to the right. There is plenty of parking even when it's crowded. I have never been to this location around the holiday, but I have driven by, and it is always packed! This locally owned retail chain, sells overstock, liquidation and salvage items. We have seen things from Amazon as well. It's usually so random, although they have seasonally appropriate items as well. When we have the time and energy, we like going through the clearance aisles...yes, they have clearance aisles in a discount store. The clearance aisles are only organized by the percentage off and so it's chaotic. Bring patience and a sharp eye for deals. We have gotten electronic peripherals and accessories. We also bought some great yard deals. While we didn't buy them, they had Robotic Lawn mowers with batteries for sale. This store is quite large and have things like furniture, appliances....so much stuff. If you are a patient bargain hunter, that doesn't mind being around people, you may like this store. Worth at least one visit.

I cancelled one, through Walmart's Bank' Capital One did a charge back and I didn't even know about it. Later I thought I would give Walmart a second chance and found out they charges me already a second time. I fought the second time and chargeback. My own Walmart Credit Card Bank allowed this to happen with all the proof right in front of their nose. I spent days to dot ever I and cross every T but they were in a partnership so I took a $200 loss within 4-6 months. I had reported them to BBB and didn't want compensation because I thought I had received my money back. No to shut you up, they give you your money back, but later charge it back to you. The worst though is the Exploitation of the Elderly and Disabled through their online delivery, including me. They give you basically the expired garbage no one else wants in the store. I cried when I saw I wasn't the only one and remember so many reviews of ones that couldn't get to the store to return so they lost their money and their food from EBT went into the garbage. I can't prove they ripped my EBT card off but I sure do save lots of money on groceries now. So what do you think? You can't see it being given back. But no refunds if you don't return delivered, tipped food to the door leaves you at a loss when it is thrown away because our Dear Elderly and Disabled ones can't use it. How do you feel about that? Well I'm not happy about it and I no longer have a membership, nor will I ever again, but too when your own credit card doesn't stand up for you ??? Interestingly, I was told by the Fraud and Dispute Department that it is reasons like mine and yours that they will no longer be in partnership with Walmart, but right up until that day they were allowing the Exploitation to continue. No 5% cash back either from Capital One, so what is the sense? They lost a Good Customer, both of them with an 815 rating due to this abuse. I still have the really high credit line, but I could care less if they take it away from me because I don't use the card anymore. Do I resent this type of store, you better believe it, I do. Walmart will give Promo's for 10-25 dollars off using them, but they don't work. They are suppose to be due to such horrific inconveniences, just bouts of lies spew forth from Walmart. They teach their employees the same catch phrase that they love Walmart because it helps buyers save money. What !!!! more lies, how do you save money if you have to return things in order to get a refund or they get funnelled into the garbage. You don't and what about the ones that use delivery that can't get to the store. Would they pay someone to take them in to do so??? They got delivery for a reason and it wasn't meant to have to go back to return. I have had Stock not be available once paid for and not accounted for either. Stock of 6-10 items. I have had groceries be delivered to someone else often. No one said a word. I have had groceries come really late, when the store was ready to close and asked If I could get them instead to be refused. So they sit thawing out, then in a cooler. Tip is don't get them the next day go elsewhere because your popsicles will be melted along with other frozen foods and I have been sick over 3 time because of their meat. Start a new order, go somewhere else. Better yet, cancel your membership now and if it was charged to Capital One, take your loss and don't waste your time trying to defeat the system or their policies for the public. They are simply passing their cost of Garbage onto the public. Prevent yourself from being their next victim. I feel so sorry for all of you who have had b ad experiences, I tried to set the stage for change, but sometimes it just falls on Deaf Ears. They need to train their employees to put things into the cooler ASAP, before it expires. They need to train their pickers to pick with a view to avoiding mold and that poor person with the Medical Emergency, and heart loss of her Baby, just impelled me to write my experiences. But think about i$5.00 towel over providing the lousiest customer service, I have ever heard of, just don'tlet it be you

They were not standing around chatting with each other. They were very customer focused. Excellent engagement. Selection of offerings is really great. We were here to look at Keen brand footwear for us and rain boots for the kids. They had so much to choose from. The rain boots for kids were decently priced, as were the crocs. The Keen footwear, was the same price as regularly priced items online. Definitely not discounted. After looking at the clothes/footwear, we looked at the toys and crafts section and were able to pick up some fun activities for the afternoon. Water paint pens and a bluey coloring book and unicorns and rainbows. I was able to pick up some of my favorite Tea and it was cheaper than Hannaford. Bigelow brand, decaf earl grey tea. They also had yummy Wilbur's Chocolates (A local brand based out of Freeport Maine). The register area was set up to handle a lot of customers. They have fun bits and bobs to look at while waiting. The staff working the register were so nice, friendly and giggly. Parking - easy- shares lot with other businesses. I loved the shopping experience and I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

I just wanted to share the excellent shopping experience I had this past Sunday, August 7, from everyone at the Super Shoes located at 1 Washington Street in the Waterville store, starting with Gloria. Gloria was the main reason I drove to physically shop in the first place. She Wowed me on the phone, with "old-school customer service" to the max! Gloria was the one who informed me of both the current and future sales, including all of the DEETS written above! She helped me to both spend and save so much money, to maximize my purchase dollars, my trip there, and my rewards account!! She treated me like she knew me, she cared about what was important to me, and was "all-in" invested in the company and the customer. The moment I walked through the main store entrance, I was warmly greeted by Sadie, who was working the register. Her friendly and sincere acknowledgement stood out as more excellent customer service. And when I was upstairs trying on work shoes she asked if I needed any help. Even though I didn't, she still looked over from time to time, with positive eye contact and a sincere smile. I was thinking about since the pandemic, how significant it's been for me to go anywhere. Trips to physical brick-and-mortar stores have decreased significantly. When I do go out as a consumer, I feel a store has that many more chances to both "Wow" their customers and retain them. Customer recognition is very important. I too work in customer service, and we're strictly trained that we're supposed to exceed customer expectations. Gloria and Sadie exemplified that 100%. Glen was downstairs "holding the fort down" in the Men's department, also conscientiously and respectfully asking customers if he could help them find what they were looking for. As I struggled to refold the unwanted pants correctly-to look nice and neat like all the others-he "showed and told" me how to tri-folded the Carhartt Men's workpants! Did you ever wonder how they get that fold looking so nice and neat, with the sizes clearly facing out towards the customers line of vision?! Unless you can figure it out, Glen knows and will probably show you too if you ask!! Other employees have been very helpful, polite, positive and respectful along the way, even if just calling for help to write this review, Emma and Melissa. Also, Lila was friendly and happy to step in and bag all my items purchased on Sunday. And because of Glorias excellent old-school customer service, I saved nearly $100.00 +/- on two pairs of Klogs slip resistant work shoes; two Carhartt Heavyweight Short-Sleeved Pocket T-Shirts, and two pairs of Carhartt Double-Front Workpants: black & mustard brown color!! a.k.a. "Hamilton Brown," the founder, with more than 130 years of a true and tried Carhartt legacy! If you have any questions, the Waterville store number is 207-873-5858. If you want too, you can tell them that a very thankful and grateful customer Toni said hello, and thanks again!!
