Kidd has always used the conservative view VS going right to surgery with me and I appreciate that . Have had two toe surgeries that were very successful . I had two unsuccessful surgeries from a LA Care doctor at providence Tarzana in 2018 & 2019 that Dr Kidd fixed . (4) surg, 1 toe over a 3 year period = 9+months of life on my butt. Grrrr! My husband worked out of town when i had surgery so i did it on my own 3rd floor in an apt complex with an elevator that worked 2/7 days a week. even more grrrrrr. Things nobody tells you about foot surgery. 1 Any surgery, invest in a Bregg Ice Machine. It's a portable bucket of ice with a wrap that continuously circulates cold water around your foot or other body part About $350 and worth every penny. it comes with a standard wrap that fits any body part, so don't buy the specific . I did and wasted $60 I basically bought the same wrap that came with it oh well! It works great for any type of surgery . 2. get a dry pro $25-30 cast/wound/waterproof protector to shower in. forget the trash bag & tape. this is a 2 min on 1min off completely waterproof protection . Shower as long and swim if you'd like . 3.cheap extra extra large & stretchy warm socks with the toes portion cut off. Extra large so they fit over your cast/wrap etc . circulation will be interrupted & all that ice is gonna make for a frosty foot. 4. Hurricane $29-40 Great support when you can start putting weight on your foot . Super portable folds and fits in the seat pocket of all major air planes , fits in a longchamps standard large tote or LV neverful MM. Note to people who use those knee scooters .. yes super convenient but they end up messing up your knee hip and lower back if you use them more than one surgical/recovery period. i used mine 4x . Find friends/family who need the scooter . they are bulky and awkward to store so we passed it around a friend circle , or donate it to your PT office and get receipt for a tax write off. 5.Post surgical Pain is hard to control, unless you keep it up constantly and iced . who can keep their foot up 24/7 ? so know it's also a painful recovery until the swelling goes down . throbbing is how i'd explain it . That part doesn't matter who the doctor is, it's gravity & physics . 5. Ortho Wedge. Great for keeping that foot elevated especially at night . You won't roll off a pillow and wake up to a throbbing foot at 2am . Now about Cedars itself ... Love the doctors , Kidd, Zall, Scott, Itamura ROCK STAR DOCS . They treat rock stars .. met Slash (GnR) at one of them .. that was a cool Dr visit . Always had excellent outcomes with all of the doctors mentioned above . The bad - the business side of Cedars Clinics/Hollywood Hospital Appointments . It's super hard to get anyone for appointments that's knows anything . I hate calling a doctors office only to be asked have you seen the doctor before? I'm a memorable patient . Yes, I've seen him in past for two surgeries. You get a crappy call center most of the times. leaving messages is hit or miss . I've left them on the cedars app though and gotten response there . Another tip.. get to know and love your doctors staff and assistant , then you'll have a direct line to call for appointments . Sometimes I see two docs same day when they are both in MDR. The two assistants will help me coordinate - they work it out and give me the date. I bring something wonderful that I baked for them and everyone is happy. (dr kidd bakes.. ask him for a recipe!) Hospital in Hollywood sucks. parking blows super expensive and unless you get there at like 2/3am getting any decent parking after 5am forget about it! .Once inside is a flipping maze. I've gotten lost in there looking for my husband in the cardiac dept more than once . The staff are not friendly when you ask for directions. Their cardiac unit that were in only had drapes between the patients , not a real room , this happened to my husband a few times , appears hospital is out of room so they make smaller rooms . They also only allow one visitor at a time, and getting a chair to sit on .. forget about that too. It became such a hassle , we switched all of my husbands doctors to providence St. john's SM. The hospital Billing Dept also sucks and they owe me thousands for care they billed and i paid out of pocket for before my medicare case was settled . That's not the doctors fault . they have refused to re-bill my services to medicare and the secondary insurance Inhad at the time . thousands of dollars from 2018-2021

Dr. Kidd was exceptional, from the time he allowed to hear me, to the detailed explanation of what exactly was broken, to thoroughly reviewing my X-rays and answering my questions. The appointment went so smoothly, and I felt like my injury and recovery were important to Dr. Kidd. Such a great experience considering the circumstances. I saw this man for less than 5min, he didn't want to do anything other than the most baseline strength assessment. No tests. No diagnostics. He didn't test my ROM or even ask me what I do for a living. I have radiating pain that shoots up my leg from the ball of my foot and I was completely ignored; Dr. Boykoff should be ashamed of himself.

Dr. Uyeki does not take United Health Care Insurance anymore even though UHC's website for 2019…read moresays that he is in Network for 2019. The Dr. says that they have not been with UHC for years but UHC says otherwise. This doctor is very selective about the types of insurance he accepts, and the plans in each insurance company he accepts so before coming here I would first call the insurance company to confirm and then double confirm with Dr. Uyeki's office. This can change year by year so always check each Jan 1 as doctors dip in and out of insurance networks. This Office is closed on Thursdays. They speak fluent Japanese here and that clientele makes up a large part of their practice. This Dr. also does not do x-rays in office anymore but does do blood draws and then sends them out. He used to take blood and x-rays and develop them in office--no more. On my most recent annual exam in 2018 on a Friday, he called me the next day on a Saturday to say all the blood results are okay that he had results on before all were completed. By the following Monday the rest of the results were in but he did not call again to say those were okay--I suspect because there was no problem. But after looking after all the results I saw that one test was not ordered that usually is every year (PSA) so I called the office to report that and they got it tested that week. He did not call on that result, I guess because it was okay. The long and short is that with the way medicine is practiced in Los Angeles for years and the influence of Insurance Companies--you need to be very proactive and keep records to compare on your own. The blood draws here are professional and leave no mark. You have to pay for parking in this building. The staff is pleasant. If you don't have insurance, they do take cash--call and ask them for a quote. This office is part of Cedar Sinai and if they refer you it will most likely be to a Cedar doctor.

I am so disappointed that i waited this long to switch to her. This is by far the best experience i have EVER had with a dr. She was pleasant, fast but efficient and thorough. She made me fell like i was her ONLY concern in that moment. She did not invalidated my feelings or concerns and addressed them kindly even when they were crazy. "Could you please tell the doctor that I've been waiting out here?" "We don't go in there." "Can you call him?" "No, we can't." "Why not?" They both looked down at the floor. I went in there and introduced myself. I told the doctor that I needed full-length orthotics with padding. He measured my feet and while bending over seemed to be in so much pain that I asked if he were okay. I explained the trouble I was having with my feet and he assured me that the orthotics would take care of it. On the way out, I was told that I would get a call when they were ready to set up a second appointment because orthotics always involved a fitting. Good idea. The call told me to come in and pick up the orthotics. There was to be no appointment. I was handed a bag. The orthotics were half-length with no padding. I told the woman that they were not mine. Could they belong to the woman whose name was at the top of my form? I found her name listed at a local private school and left a message that perhaps she had mine... No answer. I left four messages to speak with the doctor. Ultimately I was informed that the doctor did not call his patients and to not expect a call. Really? I called Cedars. The bill was cut in half. I called again. Weeks went by. Finally the bill went down from $500 to zero, but never an explanation. I had to take back the useless orthotics and sign some form. My 4th trip. My 4th parking charge. Tread carefully.

He doesn't need to work, you a tell that from his success and all the celebrity letters. He does it for the passion. He's also pragmatic, isn't 'hand-wavy' with new tech, and focuses on fundamentals. For example, he used traditional hand casts for orthotics vs. lasers. Gotta say, I like these. The only minor area for improvement is the administrative side; the office a digital experience for tracking billing, viewing receipts, or managing records online. It's a bit of a manual process, but honestly, for the level of care and expertise Dr. Levi provides, it is a very small price to pay. If you want a podiatrist who actually cares about the 'why' behind your pain, this is the place to go.
