That's the first place that I have told not take pictures of within a long time. I know this because I was told off by the till area for not being able to take pictures without permission, but that was after I had been taking pictures already inside and plenty of staff where around who could have also told me off. Mind you the guy at the entrance did look a bit shifty towards me as I had my camera around my neck, but he did not say anything to me still. It is a very useful and massive shop, based around the Cardiff Bay and it is free to enter. They have several sections of products such as; lights, bed duvets, candles, pictures frames, cloth hangers, plenty of storage items, mirrors, a cafe, a car park, a low deals offer, large lifts, escalators, and a Swedish food market area. Entry is free; the staff do seem a little picky about certain things, but it is a very useful shop and our house and Caravan in Pembrokeshire are both full of IKEA items and products. I would still recommend it as a shop for everyone to attend and buy house items from.

We all know Ikea is a must for furniture hunters on a budget - not just in Cardiff but world wide -…read moredid you know that Ikea is the biggest furniture seller in the world? But this review isn't about the furniture - ohhhhh controversial!!!!! I hear you say. This review is about the food. All I want to say is consider Ikea not just as a furniture store but a quite good cheap restaurant too. Its great value for money. You can get a cooked breakfast for 99p! Where else in the developed world can you get that? Ok the meatballs and the fish and chips are not as cheap but they are as cheap as a chip shop and you have all the sauce you could wish for and a table and chair to sit down and eat it at too! One word of advice I wouldn't take a first date here - I did once and it didn't last long after we left the store - pity really she looked quite nice all dressed up.

In actual fact I have no idea what they do in that building buts its pleasant on the eye. It uses traditional Welsh materials such as slate and Welsh Oak in its construction, and the design is based around the concepts of openness and transparency - how ironic then that it houses politicians who are anything but or maybe that's the point. As Anna said the design is environmentally friendly and in addition to rain water cleaning the windows and flushing the toilets (let's hope those pipes don't get crossed somewhere as the window wouldn't ended up very clean) the roof features a wind cowl which funnels natural light and air into the debating chamber below. Is it worth going inside? not particularly - just get a photo op outside and its ticked off your list. As i said its a nice looking structure and just another reason why the bay can be so picturesque and worth visiting.

Since then it hasn't lost any of its magic. It's like the typical disney princess castle set high up on the hill over looking the city, complete with draw bridge, turrets and perfectly preserved rooms. This is of course a Faux castle. It's not even 100 years old, so don't expect too much history but ask about the original fortress of your interested. Its perfect for a day out as its only a 15 minute drive from the city centre and impossible to miss. Kids would love a day out here, and once your bored of the castle you take one of the many routes behind the castle that lead into the woodland where you can stop and have a picnic. Alternatively you can give the cafe a go and get some lovely cake. It only costs £3.60 for an adult to get in, and if you just fancy a walk its free. Personally I'm waiting for my knight in shining amour to come back and marry me in this fairy-tale castle (not that I could ever afford it!). NB. Opens later in the peak of summer, and closes earlier in the winter. It also closes completely in January for renovations.

In fact, this castle is not as big as you may think it to be. Located on the northern outskirts of Cardiff it sits just above Tongwynlais, it is very easy to get to if travelling by car but you can also jump on a bus from Cardiff centre and take a short but picturesque walk up past the golf course and through the woods. The castle you see now was actually built on the ruins of a Norman period castle as a kind of weekend holiday home for the Marquis of Bute and his household. He wanted to make use of the site and funded this erection which enabled him to escape the bustle of Cardiff. If you have ever visited Cardiff castle then you will know what to expect from the interior design of the building as it follows similar taste. Once you cross the working draw bridge and pay a small entry fee you can get straight onto exploring the rooms which are amazingly well kept. The castle was designed so that the servants could come and go around the building without disturbing the guests as they tended to their needs. This means there are numerous nooks, crannies, and passageways to explore. As with Cardiff castle, there is an audio guide available which will offer you much information about the castle history. It wouldn't take you a whole day to take in everything but if you are not in a rush you might decide to take a break and visit the cafe which is situated in one of the rooms just opposite the entrance.

Built by Gilbert de Clare around 1268, it was designed to control the region and resist Welsh attacks. It's the largest castle in Wales and the second-largest in Britain, famous for its advanced concentric design (multiple rings of defensive walls) and extensive water defenses (moats and artificial lakes). The castle was damaged early in its history, later fell into decline, and was restored in the 19th-20th centuries.

It is also one of the only national exhibitions in Wales that needs an entrance fee so there's that. Also, it's apparently the largest castle in England which is quite interesting. Here are some of my observations: - The place, which although looks very big, can be walked through in 1.5-2 hours so don't need to budget a lot of time for this. - There's a lot of small passageways and staircases so would not advise bringing a big bag. I do appreciate how many pathways there are though so it seems like you are discovering a castle which is quite fun. - Interesting to learn about the history of this place. They do have a fake dragon area though which I thought was a little bit weird. - The location is great, next to a lot of restaurants in Caerphilly and the train station. Overall, solid castle, would go back again as it makes for a nice morning walk.

The guys who came to pack our stuff on the moving day wasn't aware that we had booked them to pack the stuff. Even though we had it in writing from the company and confirmed it over the phone the day prior. It was pure luck that I had extra bags and boxes to pack the remaining stuff in, otherwise they wouldn't be able to pack everything on that day. We received a quote to pay £5K and they billed us more than double, £12K (!). They said it would take 2, maximum of 4 weeks, we received our stuff after 7 weeks. They deliver everything curb side, which essentially means they dump the stuff in front of your house and leave. The pallets they use are so massive that they won't fit in an American standard sized lift. I would not recommend them to anyone. It would have been a lot cheaper and quicker for us to rent an entire container with the additional services then to go with 1st move. When I summarised our experience and chased an eta for our stuff, they didn't even give one apologetic sentence.. Which just shows that they don't care about the customer service one bit, once they have received their money. They also pretended to send us links to review them on Tripadvisor, however we never received the links. Which is a massive red flag and explains why Tripadvisor have 4.5 stars, while Yelp has 1 star and Google have 3.8 stars. Very dodgy! The only positive part was that our stuff did arrive in a good condition which of course is a huge relief... But your belongings are better off with a different company, hence my one star.
