I gave this company 1 star because Yelp wouldn't let me go lower! This company recently decided to get into the deck building business. They hired the contractor that we had just engaged to rebuild our deck, to come and be their deck division supervisor. He moved to Trademark Your Home/Trademark Renovations just after we decided to use him, but he talked us into staying with him with his new employer. He assured us he would be building and supervising our deck. They quoted us for a 20x20 deck built to 2018 code specifications. We gave them our deposit (1/2 of quote) and it took them a month to start. The supervisor assigned a non-English speaking father and son team to our deck who he had never worked with and had only seen two decks (pictures?) they had built. It became obvious that neither the crew or the supervisor knew current building code. In fact, they weren't familiar with GA code in force since 2012. When confronted with questions about the construction we were either lied to or told it was within code when it wasn't. They failed two building inspections and were asking for the balance of the quote before they were finished with the work. Their idea of a finished deck is anything but professional. They left wood rough and ugly, railings split, and deck boards installed improperly. The supervisor could not communicate effectively with the crew and was using Google translator much of the time. The deck stairs couldn't pass building code and by three months into the project we let them go. We should have demanded more proof of their knowledge and abilities before starting with them. We recommend staying far away from this company. read more

Jason Turner performed an inspection on one of my houses December 2017 and made false and misleading statements in his report. When reporting on the NEW heat and air conditioning units that were installed in July 2017 he reported them as 2007 units. When reporting on condition of wood in basement he wrote that the wood was rotting instead of listing as previous damage and no active organisms present. There were bathroom wipes present and he listed this as probably being flushed and causing damage to septic system even though there was a trash receptacle visible for disposal. There is previous old unused WATER pipes with obvious cutoff valves. These were noted as uncapped GAS pipes. Either Jason is untrained or intentionally misleading. read more

I can't rate any lower. This whole process was a complete nightmare. We have spent thousands of dollars in our new home , none of which this so called inspection company neglected to report. We will now pursue them in court . Do yourself a favor , and find another home inspection company . read more

I've been using Trademark for 20+ years at three houses. Two houses had termite swarms, one successfully treated and one re-treated, the other house never had a termite issue. Always receive an annual telephone call to make an appointment for my inspection. Many homes in my community use this company and are very pleased. I would recommend this company, specifically Jeff Roundtree who inspects my house every year. read more

I would rate them zero if the system allowed. Trademark performed an inspection on one of our properties and provided a report filled with errors. They reported that the property was wired with aluminum wire and also included a statement as to the potential fire hazard with aluminum. * "Aluminum wiring present -- Between 1965 and 1973,aluminum wiring was sometimes substituted for copper wiringin residential electrical systems. Connections in outlets,switches, and light fixtures with aluminum wiring becomeincreasingly dangerous as time passes. Poor connectionscause wiring to spark and overheat, creating a potential firehazard. The wiring should be evaluated by a qualifiedelectrician experienced in evaluating and correcting aluminumwiring problems. Not all electrical contractors qualify.Aluminum wiring connections are subject to greaterdeterioration than is copper due to thermal expansion andcontraction, vibration (caused when electric currents passthrough wiring), oxidation (caused by exposure to oxygen inthe air), and galvanic corrosion (caused when two differentmetals are connected together), all of which can cause poorconnections. When wires are poorly connected they overheat,which creates a potential fire hazard" It was not wired with aluminum. All circuits are wired with copper. They reported that the water heater gas line was missing a drip leg. The water heater is electric. No gas line. "@RED@@Gas gas supply line missing dripleg. Licensed plumber repair as needed" Naturally, this report scared a buyer into requesting multiple repairs that didn't exist. Poor work Trade Mark. You should be more accountable. read more

I was selling my home, the buyer contacted Trademark, and John Brown came out, he has 38 items to be fixed, I checked out three windows he said would not open, one in the master bedroom which was fine, one in the kitchen which he had vertical lines on it, the window actually opens sideways. A window in the LR also opened, he said because I had Mondo Grass on an area, which is the same height he couldn't tell the slope. He said I have had past leaks in the attic which have long ago been fixed. My Condo is 30 years old and the AC has been repaired and parts to almost brand new. His report suggested that because of age the AC was bad, and the thermastat which I got new a few years ago should be upgraded. This man lost me a sale and the inspection is probably recorded with the realtors. I will report him for failure in not knowing his job, and giving a false report There are certain things that have to be fixed before a sale, and I will do this, I am also turning over the report to the Condo Association read more

This company has been coming to my home now for a few years. I had termites which were treated when I purchased the home. They come back yearly to inspect and last year there was some more activity. They drilled in the garage and that seemed to fix the problem. I don't like the wait and see approach. I believe in preventative measures. Treat each year and prevent re-infestations. This is the first home I have ever owned so I was not familiar with how they are treated. I have spoken to a few other svcs and this is not the norm. read more

I hired Trademark to do a home inspection before I purchased my house. While the report seemed fine, after we bought the house, we found that a crawl space had not been looked at and it contained huge amounts of black mold. I was told that it was not their fault as they are not required to move personal belongings. This has resulted in severe health problems and a $10,000 bill to repair and remove the mold. We never would have bought the house had we known. read more

This review in the perspective of the seller. We understand all that has to be done with an inspection for the sale of an existing home. The amount of money it will cost the seller by filling up all the bathtubs, running the showers, and full cycle of the dishwashers, etc. All that said, we now realize to ask, "What is the full extent of the inspection. Does it include a radon test?" Which this one apparently did, at the request of the buyer. Unknown at the time of agreement, radon test constitutes coming back to the home to reclaim the testing materials to conduct the radon test. And of course the insinuation from the inspector, that we the seller would tamper with such materials to skew an accurate reading of the premises for the test. A prearranged time and date at the conclusion of the test was established with the inspector to reclaim the testing medium. Cell numbers and information was passed by the seller and inspector for the anticipated return of the inspector at specified date and time. He did not hold up his end of the arrangement. Instead, he called the agent the following day to reclaim the testing materials. At the error of the selling agent, he agreed to allow the inspector that evidently has a lock box key, (the lock box that is now inside the home), to enter to reclaim his materials. We have 3 very large loyal dogs. None of which was enclosed in their respective pens for safety and concern of strangers entering the home. Due to the extreme chaos this created among the dogs, the bark fest was immense enough to drive one of the dogs to chew 2 rugs within the home. Not to mention any potential physical harm that a trespasser might have experienced by entering the dogs domain. For this as well as the lights that were left on for about 5 hours, I give this company 2 stars. Do not allow them into your home without you being there. They will not treat it as their own. Furthermore, the total disregard for unauthorized entrance into another's property is the most compelling unprofessional attribute we can disclose of for this business. They're are others companies, use them first. read more
