I have to agree with Leesha; this location seems to have a hell of a time keeping the shelves stocked on weekends - especially perishables like milk and eggs. I stay away from their fruits and produce but I'm game for just about anything else there. TJ's has the best price of any area grocery store for cage free eggs, which are the only kind my gf will eat. They carry a decent selection of vegetarian options -- frozen/refrigerated and non -- which really helps to keep things interesting at dinner time at our place. We are big fans of their bread - especially the rye and Tuscan Pane. The con on the bread is that the use by date never seems to be more than 3 or 4 days away. I think my very favorite thing about Trader Joe's is their hassle free return policy! It lets me try things I otherwise would stay away from out of concern that I wouldn't like them enough to justify the cost. I am slowly but surely working my way through the frozen foods case, and I discover new favorites at least every other trip. read more

The staff at this store is normally very nice. I notice the last couple times I have stopped in the younger staff seem to be annoyed and not wanting to assist you. I shop this location twice a week. Today was the worst by far. My cashier was name Hope and she was playing in another associate hair when I got in line. She seem to be annoyed that I stopped her from playing by getting in her line. I asked her about a product that I did not see on the shelf and she just said I Don't Know What You Talking About. Ok! I brought in my own bags and started to help her bag. I asked her could she please put my milk in a separate bag, she got an attitude. She threw my bags and receipt I'm the cart and did not say anything. My Favorite Trader Joe's, and therefore, my favorite grocery store. The parking is plentiful and easy (aside from the slightly chaotic entry from Marie Curie drive which I've seen people turn in the wrong way a handful of times). Great produce, staple food items (including my favorite Whole Wheat "British" Muffins, frozen veggie masala burgers, battered hallibut, and coffees) at this TJ's. The friendly staff is the best. Side note: even though our MD Trader Joe's can't sell wine and beer, The Perfect Pour is just a skip away in the same shopping center. :D read more

This place has saved my butt on many a vegetable-hating-suburban-MD business trip. As with all TJ's, they're sliding down the prepackaged pseudofood slope, but it's a damned sight better than what most restaurants dish out. If your hotel has a kitchen, head here. This trader joes is set up a little different than the one in Towson, so it is a little hard to find things, but their produce selection is far greater. This location is a bit larger and less crowded then their Annapolis, MD location, but it's still a busy store! Great variety and even better prices. Some of our favorites: frozen roasted corn, orange chicken, their many flavors of hummus, fresh pizza dough (plain, herb or whole wheat) and their frozen fish. Their frozen foods are flash frozen, which is nice. Healthier options that won't scare people like me away (people just really getting into cooking and food and trying to slowly eat healthier.) The staff at TJ's is very friendly. Since they're such a busy store, the workers are always stocking product but will gladly get out of your way and also answer questions. The only thing that would make them better, isn't their fault at all - wish they could sell wine like their Virginia counterparts! GREAT selection of inexpensive wine! read more

Frozen Chocolate covered bananas The wraps in the "Ready to Go" section, they have salmon, turkey, chicken, falafel, etc Chocolate covered potato chips - seriously, these are off the chain TJ Carolina BBQ sauce And stuff you can find else where, but its better here: seaweed, ezekiel bread, fruits, wine, pre-cooked marinated chicken breasts, so on and so forth. If you live or work anywhere close to Montgomery County or even NoVA you know how INSANE Trader Joe's get. TD brings out the worst in people when they're crowded. Lots of attitude, pushing, shoving, and overall entitlement. Even when I'm running out of my favorite staples (Petite Peas!!! Best peas ever!) I avoid, avoid, avoid and avoid going until I desperately need to. Not the case here! Tons of room, everything is in stock, no one one is bumping into you. I float around the DC-Baltimore area for work and only am in Columbia once a week or so but I'm tempted to squeeze in all my TD shopping after work when I'm in town just to avoid the Trader Joe's in my area (I have THREE of them within 10 minutes of my home and they're all too packed!) read more

This is a pretty good TJ's. It gets a lot of traffic so sometimes the shelves are bare. You can ask the restock dudes to help you out but sometimes they're just out of items for the day. Overall, this is a great chain with really high quality food items. I always get Greek Olive oil here & it's the freshest ever. Truly spoils you for other places. Their prices on luxury food items - saffron and truffle oil etc... Are also very competitive. Their freezer items are particularly awesome & also in high high demand. I wish this store had a better configuration with wider aisles and more check stands. They could also use more generous shelves so they're not running to refill these shelves constantly. I'm still giving them a solid 4 stars cause the food is fab and they're also efficient and acceptably pleasant. read more

I'm very on-the-fence with this place. Maybe it's the east coast in me, but for as much of a tree hugger as I am I have serious issues coming here. I love the merchandise and the prices are pretty reasonable. It's nice to go to a store and find new things to try that are relatively inexpensive and good for you and the environment. However, I don't know whether it's the layout or the customers but there seems to be a perpetual traffic jam in the store. I understand it's a small space and the only one around, but good grief! The frozen aisle has frozen food as well as desserts and snack food on the upper shelves. This is great for marketing because if you're hungry and picking up something for dinner you'll be prone to grab something sweet while you're there. This is awful if you're just in there looking for something specific and have to wait behind someone taking their sweet time picking through frozen things. I'm interested in checking out the one in Bethesda to see if it's a more pleasurable atmosphere. read more

A very nice Trader Joe's location. TJ's in general is pretty awesome. This location in in more of a residential area (less of an urban one) than most TJ's. As such, is less crowded, is more spacious, and the clientele tend to be more at ease and polite. Service is also very polite. read more

I love this store. The employees are extremely helpful. An employee went out of his why to locate a .99 cent item for me. The prices are reasonable. Plenty of seasonal offeeings. They always have a tasty sample. The frozen meals are delicious. The cookie butter is everything. They were very well organized re COVID protocols and I was able to find what I needed in stock and quickly. We got Trader Joe's brand salmon and it was rotten. When we opened the package, I almost threw up because the salmon was so rancid. When I contacted the health department in Howard County, I saw on the site that Trader Joe's in Elkridge, Maryland, is already rated as "high risk" and they have had two issues rather recently. I think the risk rating should have been posted on the store because we never would have gotten meat or fish with a rating like that. I am so disappointed as I am a long-time fan of the store in California. Not sure the setup of Trader Joe's -- are all branches managed by the company or what? Because the California stores were not like this! The staff is still lovely, but the state of the salmon when we got it reeks of a supply chain problem, not a one-off issue. read more

Went here the weekend before our school was off for coronavirus. I went on a Saturday as the store opened. The store was nuts; however, the employees could not have been better. I love trader joes but something different happened today. Today was the first time seeing this employee who went above and beyond throughout each aisle to help customers and when he wasn't doing that he was helping the front line cashiers. Today I had a crappy day but his energy was so amazing it changed that! His singing, his energetic compliments and sincerely caring questions. This man went above and beyond to help every customer he had seen. His name is Junior and now when I come to Trader Joes I will be sure to stay in Junior's line for him to ring me up....there should be more people like that in this world! read more

They don't seem to understand that they have specialty goods and people come into their stores just for certain items. I came in on Monday and asked for Chile Lime Chicken Burgers because there were none in the freezer section and was told they'll be in on Wednesday. Then I come in on Thursday and they tell me they shouldn't have told you that because they ordered it on Wednesday and it doesn't come in until Thursday night. Two trips and I got nothing. Seriously??!!!! Your shelf is empty for half the week and no one ordered until Wednesday even after a customer asked about an item on Monday. Glad I didn't buy anything else. read more

This Trader Joe's is located in the same shopping center as The Perfect Pour, and I always go to them for their great prices on milk and almond milk. My wife has recently been turned onto almond milk, and I was pleased that their house brand had the lowest price around and was also palatable (not always the case.) Their prices on most items are usually pretty good, although their selection is not very large. I don't buy my lettuce from them for instance, and they do not have fresh fish in their meat section. I have always been impressed at their cashiers and the way they manage their lines. I usually go them for just a few items, but I have not been disappointed or price-shocked on those occasions when I have decided to make it a full grocery trip. read more

I lowered my rating to a one, at this point in grocery history, there is no reason to shop here. The stores is packed with people, almost all of whom are ignorant and don't care to watch out for other shoppers. The parking lot is an epic disaster, and all the food is available elsewhere, thank you capitalism. Equally, the food is "healthy" but has a ton of salt in it, maybe not a metric ton, but there is for sure someone at the foodery shaking it like a salt shaker over all their food. read more

We are old. Age 75-76. I have been too sick to drive and my wife is disabled. We have been stuck in the house since Jan. My wife loves Trader Joes Onion soup. I am looking to get her some. Trader Joes does NOT have any SHOPPING services!??? I call down there and ask if I can purchase the soup over the phone and have it brought out to the car. I spoke with JOSH. He was very polite but stated he can't do that. He tells me he will reserve my wife an electric cart. Apparently, they have only ONE?? WTF? I tell him I will be there by five. I get there and there is a line (approx 1/2 hour) NO WAY my wife can handle that!! I pull up and ask one of the guys about the cart JOSH reserved for my wife. He disappears and JOSH appears and appologises that "the" WTF? cart is in use. He askes what she wanted: "4 onion soup". He goes in and comes back and says good news and bad news: We only have two, He offers to go in and buy them for her. HE DOES! WHAT A GREAT GUY! He didn't have to do that!! We NEED more guys like JOSH! But the real problem is Trader Joes MANAGEMENT. GET MORE ELECTRIC CARTS!!! Not all your clientele is 23 years old!! A great place to buy food. I do most of my food shopping there. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking. Also, if you buy something you don't like then you can return it. Even if you open it. Trader Joe's has great labels for specialty kinds of items like gluten free and vegetarian. Their products are made with only necessary ingredients and have short ingredient lists. However, this store is usually crowed and some of the items sell out quickly. But if you go when they open or during the week, it is much more pleasant to shop. Overall, this store has good prices, and a good selection and both organic and non-organic foods. read more

I am not a fan. The staff is very upbeat about their products, and will swear items are fair trade and organic, when there is no proof of that. I am constantly hearing people rave about how inexpensive they are, yet, as someone who mostly shops organic products, I find Traders Joe's to be expensive. They sell caviar, but say since it's from paddlefish, it's not bad like sturgeon caviar...yet paddlefish are even more endangered than most sturgeon. It is a place for people who say they care, but just want to appear like they care without actually doing the work. read more

I enjoy buying new items at Trader Joes to expand my taste buds but today's visit I purchased my faves. One being the Cowboy caviar which is basically a black bean and corn salsa. They also sell a pre-cooked grilled sliced chicken breast that is SO GOOD and great to add to pasta dish or as a main course. Oh...their prices for ghee, olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil are much better than bigger grocery chains. TJ is not very large so that makes the shopping experience a bit annoying and I think the worst drivers in Columbia try to park in the parking lot. However, pack your patience and try one of the many unique items Trader Joe's has to offer. read more
