Alright, so I made a list called "Beyond Trader Joe's." But Trader Joe's isn't so bad, and this one is particularly cute. I wouldn't buy my produce here, but there's a lot of other fun stuff, such as: - Super absorbent kitchen cloths to replace paper towels - Lavender sachets for the dryer to replace dryer sheets - Healthier versions of the standard mac-and-cheese-in-a-box, brownies-from-a-mix, etc. - Cocoa powdered dark chocolate covered almonds. I don't think these will help save the environment in any way, but they are really tasty! Plus I like their grocery-drawing mentioned by another reviewer (bring your own reusable bags!) and the building the store is housed in is pretty cool too. read more

Does anyone remember that one place as a child you would go to over and over, no matter how dumb you looked. To the point where the store managers know you on a nickname basis, and would feel bad because you're so pathetic that even if you shit in the middle of store they'd just clean it up and not say a word? Child me go meet adult me... The lines are quick, the place is intimate, selection of produce is screamingly fresh, great Trader Joe products without any of the bad Trader Joe products(you know what I mean), and great staff that you can tell love(or at least good at faking it) their jobs. Parking sucks, but I blame that on the Iron Hill next door. Comon people its beer, and no matter how much you drink you still won't go home with the hot girl at the bar! But I try to make ever excuse I possibly can to come here. If I'm jogging through Media and realize I need fruits. If I'm driving by, and I decide I need milk. I walk by and noticed I need gum. I get off the airport and realized I just need to stand in the middle of the store and feel at home. If I'm kicked out of the house by my wife, and I need those flowers QUICK before my entire earthly possessions follows me out the house. Trader Joes, you complete me. read more

Trader Joe's is decent. Some of there snacks are TOO HEALTHY, and not good enough for my kids to enjoy. They lack flavor and colorfulness. I will say one things for sure your mini Mochi and Kringles are to die for. But anyways that's why you are a decent grocery store. I love my media trader joe's...and it is only halfway because I live a block away. First of all, it's clean. It's so clean and tidy and well stocked and I don't ever question the quality of the food. Second, it's trader joe's...that's obvious. Third, the people who work here are so insanely nice. I've been to other TJ's and the people are always friendly...but Media is the best. They always smile and wave and deal with my insanely bad jokes when I'm all tired after work. Don't get me wrong, they're not fake nice, they come across as being very genuine. If you're not familiar with Trader Joe's, I like to think of it as the reasonably priced version of Whole Foods. You can get organic items for a very reasonable price. Many of the store brand products are comparable to and sometimes better than brand named products. For example, Trader Joe's fruit bars taste ten times better than Nutri-Grain bars. The store itself is small. The best times to go are later in the evening during the week, or early on a weekend. The parking lot is very small and can only hold about 20-30 cars, if that. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful. At times when I couldn't find an item, they stopped what they were doing and walked with me to find it together. Trader Joe's has become a fast favorite since they moved into our area. A chain that might've been called a "health food store" 10 years ago, Joe's strength is in its private label product such as their Hummus & other salads, their amazing vegetarian Rice Krispies, their trans-fat-free Graham Crackers, their massive variety of trail mixes, the delicious frozen & prepared ethnic foods, and other environmentally sensitive and health conscious products. That's to say nothing of the samples ... oooh, the samples. The Media TJ's is housed in a renovated old building in the heart of Media. Because of its location, parking is in high demand and can be a touch tricky. Every employee I've interacted with has been friendly and very helpful. Despite the fact that this store is 40min from my home I usually find myself here every month or so. I usually shop at the Trader Joes in Marlton. But since this one is closer to my job, I decided to stop here instead of fighting the traffic to get to the one closer to home... First of all, this store is in a beautiful stone building in the center of Media... They have a parking lot for customers only across the street. Probably the only downside is that the entrance is on the upper level of the building. So it's either about 10 steps up, or take the long way up using it's ramps.. Elderly or handicapped shoppers might find either a little challenging... Once inside, it's not as large as some of the other's that I've shopped in, but it has the same nice service and atmosphere as the others...Right now they have pumpkins, gourds, seasonal fruits and flowers displayed on the way in... It was a good shopping experience. One of the employees showed me to the one item that I couldn't find. I browsed for awhile and chatted with other shoppers... Nice store and town... I'll have to park and shop more often.. read more

This location is beautiful and has a historic vibe to it which makes for a scenic grocery store experience. There is a lot of grocery options. This location is so small it can get crowded easily. You have to wait in line before entering the store during Covid-19 times. Although the store is beautiful, the experience sucks. It's too crowded. The staff act like wardens in a prison. I understand the staff is trying to keep everyone safe. The staff basically yells at you where to stand when you are checking out. I understand they are trying to direct the lines, but the staff is very controlling. During my recent experience, there were a few staff members that have a staring problem like they try to intimidate you if you are not keeping social distances protocol, but the store is extremely small. When I was checking out the cashier told me to stand on the dot, but she lacked customer service skills because she works at Trader Joe's not a prison. I'm grateful she bagged my groceries, but she had an aggressive attitude then she bruised my bananas. Trader Joe's isn't worth the hype sometimes. If I have to explain this location it's beautiful from the outside, but ugly in the inside. read more

Love Trader Joe's. For those unfamiliar, it's like a reasonably priced Whole Foods (we call it Whole Paycheck). Lots of organic fruits and vegetables, a good selection of Gluten-Free products, and their store brand items are excellent quality. Fresh flowers at a reasonable price are a bonus. This location is in an old armory building. It's brick on the outside and still retains a lot of its original charm inside. Compared to other Trader Joe's, it's a bit smaller with less selection. But any Trader Joe's is better than no Trader Joe's. And this one has ample parking which is a huge bonus. read more

I love this Trader Joe's location. While the parking lot's usually full, there tends to be easy street parking nearby. It's a bit small, but they have a lovely, serviceable variety. What I love: - Tons of fresh offerings. I love the cheap, yet quality fruit here. - I love Trader Joe's for sandwich ingredients. Great bread. Great quality meat. That hummus and deli meat and cheese selection. - So much easy-to-make frozen food for those lazy nights. - Tons of cookies & desserts. I wish the drive home was shorter because I always get tempted by their ice cream selection! There's always free samples up for grabs, which usually entices me to try and buy food I would have otherwise never thought of! The other day, I had a quinoa salad with balsamic vinaigrette there. I'm a Whole Foods girl, but because I was in the 'burbs Trader Joes is all there was available in my search for Chia seeds and coconut oil. Usually, I try to avoid Media altogether because of the parking situation, but TJ's is cool enough to have a little lot dedicated to their shoppers. (If a Philly person is complaining about parking, you know it has to be bad!) My hunt begins. I searched all over the store until I found the coconut oil. Sold out! the New Years Resolutioners got to it before me! (PS - I'm one of THEM, too.) Then I hunted around for the Chia seeds. I was lucky enough to find them, though it took me quick a while. For such a hot item (as the cashier put it), you'd think they'd have it displayed all over the place. It's okay TJ's...I still like you. I got caught in the trap of searching for other things I didn't necessarily need because everything here looks so good. Habenero-lime wraps? Sure, why not. (They are delicious!) Lots and lots of cheese that I can't pronounce? Jump on in the old basket. This TJ's cheese section is awesome - there's all kinds of good stuff. The fresh produce selection here is really good for such a small location. I went up to check out and had the happiest cashier ever. He was talking to be about the Chia seeds and said that every time someone like Dr. Oz mentions them, they can't keep them on the shelf. He also recommended to make the pudding on the back of the bag, which I will be doing. Thanks, dude! All-in-all, I had a semi-succesful trip here and I'm sure I'll be back in the future to pick up some more goodies that I may or may not need. read more

Trader Joe's is known for selling healthy food at a reasonable price, as well as its fun snack foods. It's also known for being crammed into a space way too small for the amount of customers they get. The Media location is no exception on either count. Unless you go midday during the week, this place is guaranteed to be a zoo. Part of the problem is that they've chosen to only offer full-size shopping carts, which really congest the aisles. Why not swap these out for those smaller, two-tier carts? On the upside, the staff are usually pleasant, and there is dedicated parking across the street. read more

This is my favorite Trader Joes in the area. Maybe it's because it's in the middle of downtown Media, but it just seems more comfortable and homey than some of the other Trader Joes I've been to. It can be hard to find parking but a spot usually opens up for me. read more

This Trader Joe's has a private parking lot, which is a win when it comes to the area that it's located in. It's also relatively large, in comparison to other locations that I've frequented. Those are really the only two special things about this spot...everything else is pretty typical and what you'd expect to find in a Trader Joe's. read more

I really like this location. It's right across the street from the church where I sing so I'm able to come here pretty regularly. It's not a huge store, but they sure do pack it with stuff. The staff here is great; always helpful. Plus they have samples. Who doesn't love free food? And I'm pretty sure I've paid less for things here than I did at another Trader Joes location. Let me start out by stating Trader Joe's used to be my favorite grocery store to shop in. I will NEVER return to this store in Media again. Trader Joe's in Media you just lost a loyal weekly customer. I will take my service to another Trader Joe's as well as tell my family and friends this story. I was down right disrespected today. The manager, I believe she was, talked down to my friend and I as if we were incompetent children. I have never been talked to that in my life by anyone in customer service industry. I really wish I got her name to report her. My full time job deals majorly in the customer service segment so coming from that deal with people I know how to respect people. This was pure disrespect, I know that Trader Joe's values customer service and would not allow this, so I am honestly shocked some one like this works at Trader Joe's or even works in customer service at all. Great store with lots of choices. They have redone it in recent years. It is located in the old Armory building but they have managed to put a retail venue in this old building. They have expanded the cheese choice and the bakery choices has improved. The vegetables and fruits are often fresh and reasonable priced. From the frozen foods, I especially like the pork gyoza - great last minute meal ready quickly for hungry folks. Parking is always a challenge here. Media always has parking issues and when a driver competes with patrons of the popular restaurant across the parking lot cart way, you have to be prepared to get frustrated, wait, or walk a bit with your purchases. Come during hours when the restaurant is closed and you will have a much better shopping experience. There is a lonnnnnnnng ramp for wheelchair users. Those who are physically fit will be able to manage the incline without assistance. Others may need help traversing the ramp. read more

This review is specifically for the location at Sunset and La Cienega. While their line of products is of the quality you expect from any TJ's store, their service is not entirely professional; they have double standards when it comes to customer service. If you are Caucasian, you get a friendlier, more understanding and more welcoming attitude. If you're not Caucasian, you certainly are welcomed to come in and spend your money in the store, but don't expect to be treated with the same level of attention, courtesy and respect a white person receives. This kind of behavior in a city as accepting and all-encompassing as West Hollywood? It's sad, reproachable and pathetic. read more

The friendliest grocery store in my experience. They are smaller than some other Trader Joe's and sure, sometimes they are fresh out of your favorite thing, but they always offer to order it for you, or research when it will be back in stock -- all with a certain level of positivity that is distinctly lacking at other chain grocery stores. Many many of their items are less expensive than in other grocery stores and they have an interesting selection of quasi- exotic foodstuffs and lots of organic products! They might not always have everything on my list, but I always start my shopping here. Tip: crowded on Sunday afternoons. So the parking may be tight then. read more

I've never had an unhelpful or bad check-out person here, but I do wish they had a bit more selection. It's a smaller store, so there isn't as much room to be choosy, and the selection that there is....is a bit....upscale... so to stay on-budget I know that I need to be VERY choosy. If you can keep that in mind, then you should be okay and although I can't find (or afford to make Trader Joe's my primary place of grocery buying) everything I need; they usually have some great weekly deals. Love shopping at Trader Joe's, but this location is just way too small and limited in its products. If you're trying to find ingredients from everything on your list, it probably won't happen and you'll most likely end up having to go to another grocery store. However, if you know exactly what you're looking for from a TJ's, then this would probably be a good place to grab and go! They have 3 aisles - produce, frozen section, and dairy + dry goods. Trader Joe's is my favorite little market. They have a great selection of vegetarian meals, prices are reasonable, and best of all, they're within walking distance. The only gripe I have with them is all their produce is wrapped in some sort of plastic wrap. Well, 90% of it anyway. So, because I try to avoid silly plastics (go green Trader Joes!) I will buy my produce from rather the Acme or from the farmers market on the other side of the Pike. Other then that, I love this place! read more

This establishment is one of my favorite grocery stores. Although they have a smaller selection, everything is either organic or more healthful than the equivalent fare at chain grocery stores. I find that there is rarely a product that I do not like, and the Trader Joe's brand is generally excellent. It is also obvious how the owner's of TJ's have a sense of humor by the alterations to their own brand name, depending on the region it is coming from. (i.e. Trader Giotto's or Trader Ming's) I especially love the following products, and buy them regularly: Carne Asada, Flat Iron Steaks, Buffalo style Chicken Meatballs, Various Fresh Cheeses, Unsweetened Black Iced Tea, Sourdough Bread, French Cut Green Beans, Apple Spice Bread Mix, Buttermilk Pancake Mix, Tart Mongomery Cherries, Various Nuts, Trail Mix, and Fuji Apples. My wife and I also enjoy the Trader Joe's (their take on Oreos) but these are a rarity, since we try to steer clear of TJ's Sweets which are ALL amazing. I find the staff at this particular Trader Joe's to be exceptionally helpful, friendly, and quick. There is rarely a time when one has to wait on line, and the management solves issues (rarities, I assure you) quickly and with a friendly attitude. read more

This is a pretty good Trader Joe's. I love the artichoke ravioli and the roasted red pepper & artichoke tapenade salsa whatever type stuff together SO MUCH. Like, easily one of my favorite I don't want to do anything meals. The staff are super nice. I miss the MILK chocolate covered cranberries, but that is more about Trader Joe's the company than Trader Joe's the store in Media. read more

I LOVE TJ'S! GREAT FOOD AND PRICES!!!! Until recently this was my favorate location to shop at, this changed because I got a very rude girl during checkout. Full of attitude and just totally ruined my TJ expereince. This worker did not even fit the TJ mode, fit more in with the PathMark crowd on 69th street if you get my drift....... Anyway I called the next day and complained to mngmt whom appologized and said they would address the situation right away. I hope on my next trip this loser is gone or I will have to start shopping at the Wayne Trader Joes on my way home from work. read more

So this is my go-to grocery store. The staff is cool and all. It's right by a trolley stop. I guess they lose the star because frequentimes, when I go there around 830 or 900 in the morning, they're still stocking. A lot of favorites aren't on the shelves. Ditto for 800 in the evening. So. There's some sweet spot for finding all your favorites on one trip. I offer an example: this past Tuesday there were no Vegetable Gyozi and no Coconut Oil. Sigh! Otherwise, good store. read more

My boyfriend and I go grocery shopping here every weekend! It's smaller than most Trader Joe's, but I don't mind it at all. We find that going early Sunday and Saturday morning are non-busy hours and, of course, weekdays when everyone is at work. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Been shopping at Trader Joe's Stores for over 15yrs....mostly because they vetted their products which were spectacular and flavor were fantastic. We especially loved the Triple Ginersnap cookies and the box mix of Gingerbread. While in there we would then would purchase other items, but for us, it was these two items which brought us to the door. It's always been a philosophy of mine, if it works dont fix it. That said, unfortunately it's not something TJ's ever heard of. About 3yrs ago, they not only changed the receipe of their Triple Gingersnap cookies in the clear drum container, but the boxed ginerbread too which could be used to make delicious cookies as well. The boxed mix would come out annualy November and sold until February..and always looked forward to those....Now that box mix has change, no flavor, and is.....BLAND BLAND BLAND ! And the pre-made cookies in the clear drum containers are also different, less ginger and also BLAND BLAND BLAND.... Apparently they no longer vette their products which IMO taste and texture as if purchased from a dollar discount store...Sad to say, haven't been back to TJ's since..and driven by their doors many times.... :( read more

I've lived in Media Pa for over ten years now. I've been a customer at Trader's Joe since the early 2000's. I used to frequent the Media Location at least once a week. I've noticed a decline in customer service over the past six years and have just about stopped coming altogether. Just left the store tonight at 8:30 p.m. with a terrible experience and will not be back. The person I spoke with seemed more interested in closing his store than offering customer service... a terrible shame. I used to go out of my way to shop here due to the excellent customer service (which was leaps ahead of the Philadelphia location). The worst part, it is blocks away from home which is the real tragedy. I will drive miles to take my money elsewhere. Trader Joe's, you can do better! read more

I came here during the Republican rally when I figured I wasnt going to get to see that sexy Sarah Palin in person.Minx! How do they find the people who work here? Ive been to other TJs and all the employees are the same. I had a 5 min conversation with the hippie cashier about politics and sports, and it was the sanest conversation I had all day.Friendly (sometimes to a fault) helpful, quirky. Ive never seen anyone surly employed by any TJs. I peeked in the back room sure I would see glowing, gelatnous, pods, throbbing along the walls. Even the other patrons seem nicer than average. The location is cool. I believe this was an old firehouse. Parking sucks, its all metered. The store itself is only slightly larger than a Wawa. The store meets its purpose though. I dont think you could do all of your food shopping here. Think of TJs as a supplemental place, like a butcher or produce joint, where you can pick up some cool and tasty specialty items. I also like the paper handled bags they give. They are very sturdy and we use them to transport all of our paper recyclables. Also a great place to pick up food novelties to give out as gifts around the holidays. read more

It's a small store, but I really like it. The staff is always friendly, and food is great. Some of their stuff is actually cheaper than the horrible Acme down Baltimore Pike. This store is never empty. Parking can be an issue. Those are two negatives I can think of. Not bad at all. You will leave satisfied. I never bring a shopping list when I shop here. I like buying on the fly. I know it's not the most economical thing for someone to do, life goes on. The fair prices and reliable quality makes me repeat shop and never use a list. I grab the usual, but I like taking a risk on something in the frozen aisle or a new cereal. Regular bananas are 19 cents each!! Apples are pretty cheap too. Ever have their Joe Joes? I could eat a box in one sitting. The bread and dairy sections are pretty extensive for a smaller store. I like their coffee. It's reasonable and tasty. Right now I'm using Smooth & Mellow. Try it! The customer service is great. They drop what they are doing and help you. I've never seen "Gimme a minute lady, the yogurt has priority over you" ever. In the back of the store you can try their daily sample. (They will give you a recipe too, which can be helpful.) read more
