The store itself is fine except for the neon lights and pot lighting which is so harsh and painful to my eyes. They can't seem to keep stock of frozen food (at any Giant). The carts at this store are HORRIBLE!!! It takes many tries to find one that doesn't have a bad wheel that makes loud noise during your shopping. You'd think that the employees would see them set aside, test them, and pull them out of service. The restroom is always disgusting. The deli...don't even bother. You'll stand there for ages waiting for your number to be called or your kiosk order to be completed. They're understaffed but the staff is nice. read more

I have been a customer of Giant for years. The employees are wonderful. Maybe one or two has gotten out of line but basically they are great. I have noticed with the last couple of months, the shelves in the store have not been well stocked. I have been told it is the night crew. Whatever- it is not the Giant that it was when it opened. Different story for the pharmacy. That pharmacy is the BEST. It has always been good but since the new Pharmacy Manager, Andrew, took over it has sky rockted. Knowledgeable, pleasant, caring and with a smile. They seem well stocked looking at their shelves. They also give all shots. If you need one, consider Giant, 721 W. I took my 3 kids with me to go shopping (all under 6yrs). There seemed to be an issue with the registers and after about 30 mins of waiting in line I realized I was in a new self checkout lane. By the time it was our turn to go my kids had 0 patience left and were starting to melt when a sweet woman whose name I believe was Joan stepped in and saved the day by checking my items for me so I could tend to my kids. The store is clean and the employees are always very nice. HOWEVER, good luck getting anything at the deli as they are woefully understaffed, the carts are all wonky and loud, and if you're a Scan-it user...heaven help you. I've used their scanners and usually use my phone's app and almost every time I've been in that store, everything has to be audited. I get the need now and again, but almost every time??? How is this a convenience to anyone??? I rarely go there anymore, I travel to the Boot Rd. location in West Chester where I never have an issue. read more

I went to this GIANT store at Sproul and Township Line Rds twice in 3 days. My issue is that they obviously don't check to see that their young team members are courteous, helpful, and polite. Is it possible that the parents hadn't instilled these values into them? Sure, but since they're at GIANT, and GIANT chose them to represent their company, GIANT needs to hear this. On one day, I take my cart back to the cart drop-off in the middle of the lot. As I approach, I see an employee in there sitting in the rail playing on his phone. As a customer approaches, I see them look to see if maybe the young man would stand up and accept the cart from them, but NOOOOO. He never looked up and the same thing happened as I put my cart in. As a young lot attendant, if I wasn't accepting carts personally, I would walk to a car and offer to take it from them. The next visit I was in the store and in 2 different aisles, a young man was pushing a dolly of items to be stocked and cut in front of me while I was moving forward. No "excuse me", no "oh sorry for being careless and disrupting your shopping trip Mr Customer"; nothing. I saved the best for last. I only had a small cart worth of items, maybe 12 or so. As I put the 2nd item on the belt, I pulled out my GIANT courtesy card, he picked up the gun, scanned it, and I jokingly said "nice shot"(so we've both acknowledged that I have one, and he scanned it). He scanned through the last couple items as I struggled to open one of the plastic bags, he stood there looking at me and said "do you have a buyers card"? Having given mine to him maybe 40 seconds ago, I thought maybe there was another kind of card possible, so I asked "buyers card"? He said "yeah, do you have one"? After I explained that he just scanned it moments ago, he replied with "oh" . . . All the while, I'm bagging, and he's watching me reach towards Him for more items THAT I CAN BAG. I can't accept rude, lazy ignorance, and I blame the store managers for not Picking up on these less than subtle character flaws in the employees they put in place. If it's a mommy problem and they weren't taught how to be helpful or courteous, send them back to mommy and replace them. If it can be fixed by turning on the light above their heads, then FIX IT ! read more

Prices are about average but the customer service is awful. Don't bother asking any questions of any employee unless you like sarcastic answers with eye rolls. Asked a question about a price at the customer service desk and was met with "I can't even..." and the employee walked away. Maybe I was misunderstood but that reaction to any customer is not in line with any level of professionalism. read more

Hello everyone Mark here. Always did my food shopping at this Giant but not anymore after what I've seen and heard. A buddy of mines kid used to work here and oh my god the things he witnessed and experienced from the mangers of the store shocked me. I have usually had good experiences with all the people at this supermarket including the mangers sadly it seems that they take out there angry on the teens working there. My buddy's child used to be a cashier and said the mangers would yell at them for slightly missing up. My nephew also used to work there so I had to ask him about this because maybe it was a one time thing or maybe his kid couldn't take criticism sadly my nephew said they experienced similar things not towards them but to other cashiers and even some of the employees who handle online orders. Since hearing this things I've kept ears open and it does seem like certain mangers do not talk there employees with respect.The employees are always so kind but the mangers seem to be on power trip very sad especially when we can't find any kids to work now a day. Definitely upsets me to hear some of these things. read more

Awful working conditions for Giant Direct I hope the managers will actually take the time to read this instead of just blowing it off as an unreasonable complaint I have a friend that works in direct and the managers expect too much from them for just 12 dollars. As the managers just seem to care about maximizing profits and little about the workers as I was told this is the only department that is really on a time thing and the managers keep increasing the amount of work that must be done in that time frame and want it done fast and perfectly. Which is next to impossible for a department full of kids I was recently told that they don't want a single item out of stocked from any orders but expect speed which realistically there has to be an choice over speed or quality with the managers living in a world full of unrealistic expectations I wouldn't want anyone to work in such a store or even a department like that. Also their new thing where they tell everyone take care I am not a fan of as when I have been told that some of the times it just seems as like snarky and that they are just saying it especially when I heard one of the managers say it it just seemed like he was being rude to his employees read more

This is my "GO TO " Giant. Better than surrounding Giants due to employee and management commitment. I live closer to the Brookhaven ( yuck) and Aston ( Good) but I go here all the time. Parking is very good with easy in and out. Aisles are not crammed with displays. I can always find things. Produce is good as well as higher end meat area. I especially like their Organic section here. read more

This store is awful. Customer service is poor. They never have enough staff at checkout. The bags are flimsy and now they haven't been accepting cash for the last 2 weeks. I needed a last minute full sheet cake and knowing that any cake request half sheet or larger with less than 24 hours notice would be an issue, I was skeptical I'd be able to find anything. I called a few other grocery store bakery's that were closer to my location and was basically told they can't help me. I called Giant and oh my gosh, AMAZING! They were not only helpful on the phone but once I got there went out of their way to help find the kind of cake and coloring I needed. Betty suggested a half sheet and 2 quarters & helped me find the cakes. Lisa wrote on the cake quickly and beautifully. I'm so appreciative of their help today!! read more

This Giant store definitely needs some help. Yesterday about 6pm there was not a single cart inside the store. It was raining and customers had to walk back out in the rain to retrieve a cart. The eggs were out. The products on the shelves are rarely replaced often pulled forward to make the shelves appear full. The water aisle is always empty. The fresh vegetables are always out or old at best. Not sure what is going on with this location but poorly managed indeed. read more

If you want to go shopping at the worst managed supermarket in the world.... this is the place to go. They blame their poor service on Coronavirus but I've been to every local supermarket in delaware county in the last few weeks (including 3 other Giants)....this is the only supermarket that is still sold out of everything. The line to checkout stretches all the way around the store to the opposite side....almost to the entrance. Employees laugh and joke about how long the line is also. I've been here at 9am and at 6pm.... the line is that long no matter what time you shop. These managers need to take a look at what other supermarkets in the area are doing to cope with the Coronavirus because this place is doing it all wrong! read more

Visited: Wednesday - September 16, 2015 - 8PM I've visited here during all hours of the day....... and night! Customer service is very good and produce is remarkably good for a "chain". I've used the weighing machines to weigh and label produce to expedite check out. The prices, well, ok, but, shopping here or like enterprise is designed for convenience not necessarily competitive pricing. The parking is large and the shopping carts plentiful. This is my favorite Giant supermarket. The store is open 24/7. Each 100 points qualifies for a 10 cent a gallon discount. The gas station is located in Havertown on Township Line road - about 10 minutes away. ______________________________________ The following did NOT factor into the rating due to the unique situation: I've shopped here after many late night exercise regiments - sometimes after midnight. Often, the shelf restockers of dry, packaged goods left full and empty boxes strewn throughout the aisles making shopping a challenge. The employees conducting the restocking were rude and intimidating. In frustration, I politely expressed my experience to a random restocker. On my next visit, the aisles were better maintained and the restockers personable. read more

This is my favorite Giant by a long shot but the deli counter needs some major improvement. Always a bunch of people waiting and only one person slicing lunch meat. Many others are behind the counter but not assisting customers. It is painful to watch and to wait. I actually refuse to get any lunch meat here anymore bc it adds an extra 30 Minutes to my trip. It's faster to go down the road to Colonial where they have your whole order sliced in under 5 minutes. Please, please, put some more people back there and teach them to move a little faster. read more

Giant is just o.k.; they don't really have a great selection in store and they are somewhat expensive. Lately, I've been using the Peapod delivery service and the one thing I did not realize is the sales in the Giant flyer don't correspond to the sales in Peapod! Who would have thought that! I ordered three bags of Starbucks that I thought would be $5.99 (Giant in store sale price) and they charged me $7.39 (Peapod sale price). And, you can not return items to the Giant food store that you bought from Peapod. So, the only way to return the coffee was to order another delivery and give it back to the delivery person and because it was non-perishable I had 30 days to do so. So, buyer beware. To their credit they gave me a $5 credit to use for another delivery. I would make sure to check everything before the delivery guy leaves otherwise you are stuck with items until the next delivery. read more

Went today at 6:40 in the AM. Hour between 6 am and 7am was supposed to be for age 60 and older only. About one third of store seemed to be much younger. A young person not wearing a mask sneezed as I was walking behind him. He did not cover his face. So much for protecting Seniors. This happened at the Sproul Rd, Springfield store. read more

Giant on Sproul Road in Springfield, PA. I went shopping there 4/4 and there were zero precautions for COVID-19. People passing within inches of each other in the aisles. No spacing distance at checkout. In fact, as I was paying - cashier had no gloves, mask or plexiglass - another Giant employee passed by me twice within inches and the second time actually bumped into me. Their shelves are still either barely stocked or completely empty. Others stores are managing, even the Acme, but this Giant is terrible. read more

I love shopping here. I travel here from my home in Havertown because the shopping experience is worth the trip. (I can't wait for them to open the new location in Havertown but I digress). I have to agree with my esteemed fellow Yelp reviewers. However, there is one odd thing about this store - that is the location of the restroom in relation to the cafe (which is beautifully appointed by the way). Also, the salad bar and deli section is in the back corner of the store - so basically, you have to walk through the store to select your meal and then pay for it at the register at the front of the store, and then walk several yards down the length of the front of the store to the cafe. Then, you have to walk through the length of store again if you want to use the restroom before or after your meal! So, I'm not quite sure what calculus went into planning this logistical arrangement. The only logical conclusion I can think of is that they would like you to sit in their cafe and use the free internet access (very nice!) while drinking a cup of coffee for a mere $1. Also - while the selection of produce is overall pretty good, I think Giant can strive to do better. I'd love to see more local produce in their stores in the warmer months. I'd also love to see more organic poultry and meat. Overall, a great supermarket! read more

I visit several times a year from the Midwest to spend time with the grandkids. 1st visit I had to get over the food cost sticker shock. That said, GIANT frontend and produce customer service are amazing! Their rating--5 stars! Meat and fresh fish departments...meh. 2 months ago, 1st bad experience was with rancid cat fish filets--not a good look for a store that sells fresh. 1month ago, 2nd bad experience...how does a store this size run out of chicken wings?...no fresh, no frozen and no idea when the next shipment/delivery is due. So if you are in need of chicken parts, call 1st. If you have a taste for fresh fish...smell 1st!!! I'm back again and almost tempted to go to Walmart to get chicken...WOW!!! read more

Giant in Aston Great Store! Shop just about every day, but the DELI people leave a little to be desired, not the guys there really good but the two order women are terrible. Since I complained about them sealing the bags with the sticker price i, have gotten my American cheese in a sandwich bag, the other day I ordered Boars head chicken ,I couldn't open the bag the black plastic tab was removed. Very clean, wide aisles, knowledgeable clerks, and managers who come quick enough when needed by one of the clerks. I've found the clerks very good at communication, motivated, and although much of the staff seems to be college-aged, very attentive. We prefer this Giant supermarket over several closer supermarkets because of the clean and professional atmosphere. read more

Not one to complain about "essential workers" as we're called nowadays (I'm one too so I understand) but I have started to use Giant about a month ago. I had a very nasty cashier this morning at the Springfield location. She was very frustrated at something that probably happens all day long (which is something Giant Foods should fix in ALL of their stores). Your conveyor belts at checkout are blocked by the outer edge of the cashier stand. I had to reorganize everything I put out on the belt because as she moved the belt up, everything was getting stuck at the edge. She told me I had to push everything back n I started to do that n there was a customer behind me so I did not have a whole lot of room so I started to stack things. The cashier did not like that. She snapped at me not to stack anything. This could be easily rectified by a sign at the register area to watch the edge of the conveyor belt or your things will get stuck. Or you could fix them somehow so that this doesn't happen. Also, as a new shopper at Giant, I attempted to use the self-checkout a few times. The system is very frustrating because if you pick up a bag with your groceries in it n go to put it in your cart before the machine has registered the weight of the bag, it screws everything up on the machine and you have to put it back so that it re-registers the size of the bag. This is at all of your stores. If you could fix these 2 issues, everything else is great! Lol, except you had none of my favorite Sea Salt Caramel Enlightened Bars but that's not your fault, it's because they're delicious!! read more

Went in on Sunday and checked out at 830 am. Products still good here but I have managed to figure out how to get some serious gas discounts. However, as on previous trips, the two offers for extra points for particular purchases did not register on my receipt. The folks at the desk blame corporate. In addition, the manager almost deducted me points because she didn't know how points show up on the receipt. Very disappointing. After I left the desk, a woman told me it's not a Sunday thing so make sure you check your offers and double check the after you check out. I almost lost an additional 70 cents per gallon as a result. read more

I really do like this Giant. To the point of when I moved farther away I still drove the distance to shop at this store. But the Deli counter has to be managed way better and this has been a problem since the opening of this location. Their pre-cut premium meats are a great convenience.. however they are sliced so thick you could serve them at Thanksgiving or Easter dinner. I wouldn't put a slice of that on a sandwich if you gave it to me for free. It is a complete waste of money and I am now forced to take the issue to Corp. The quality is absolutely horrendous and after telling the deli manager many times of their deficiencies nothing has changed read more

The pharmacist at Giant Supermarket pharmacy located in 721 Sproul Road in Springfield is very rude. she has a horrible behavior . When I ask information about my medicine she doesn't listen and when I repeat my question she gives a short answer which is not related to my question . When I need some information about the over the counter medicine she says what ever we have is in there you should look at them yourself. We live right on the corner of the Giant supermarket almost 1 min away but because of this rude pharmacist we have to drive and go to a different pharmacy. It's obvious that she doesn't care about helping people and she is not doing her job the way she is suppose to do . I will report this problem also to consumer affairs read more

This is the store I shop in constantly. I was in there twice today. Unfortunately you have to check all dates before you buy. I just returned a box of toaster strudel dated June 2017. They do not pull outdated stock. I just left after returning this box. It is not the first time. You have to watch everything you buy. They take things back but I don't need to buy and bring back. Produce section seems huge but then you will notice most of it is rotten and infested with fruit flies (especially over by the small selection of onions/potatoes). Deli dept- forget it unless you want to wait for 45 minutes. Also- don't dare go later in the evening because they get really pissy when you want lunch meat but they started cleaning up. Even though they are supposidly open for another hour. Oh but the order ahead would fix that? Nope- your meats and cheeses will be sliced with the wrapper still on (clear plastic) and not to the thickeness requested. I actually got a giant wad of what may have been thin american cheese at some point but was then a big hunk of mess. Giant direct pick up? This was good for the first month they had it- now you'll be lucky to get the items you ordered. Its just pure laziness because you can walk in after they give you your order and find exactly what was "out if stock". The coupon selection on their app is lacking big time- and the weekly circular has maybe 1-4 total. Better off driving a few miles down the road to the one in Broomall. read more

I drive out of my way to go to this Giant. The deli people are much better than other stores. It's new which is nice. Yes, the bathroom is at the back of the store and the customer service/managers aren't always that nice but overall, I like it. The checkout lines usually move along pretty well. I've spent the better part of 50 years in the hospitality business and feel I'm a pretty good judge of service. I know excellent when I see it and I also know bad. This store provides consistently excellent service. The key word of course is consistent. Over the past several months I've had great service experiences in every department in the store.
