Shopping in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California... We had a little time before going to the airport and a wee bit of space left in our luggage... I showed my cousin AGAIN all of the snacks, greeting cards, and the hunt for the store's mascot! This store features Shelly, the hermit crab. You'll know that she's the one by her name tag! I finally found her after showing her photo to one of the clerks. We got prizes for finding Shelly! Thank you! We got a few more snacks to eat on the plane and my cousin found his favorite mints. He even got some of the high quality, 99 cents Greeting cards! Looking forward to visiting this spacious, clean, and organized Trader Joe's again! The reasonable prices, convenient restroom, and helpful, friendly service!

My life-sustaining supplies for the week!

Date of visit: February 25, 2025 "Oh, well, now I'm off to get my life-sustaining supplies: cornmeal, and gunpowder, and ham hocks, and guitar strings." - Yukon Cornelius Granted, I don't think Trader Joe's has gunpowder and guitar strings - though they possibly might have ham hocks and cornmeal - but sometimes I feel like Yukon Cornelius whenever I stop inside a Trader Joe's for one or two items... and come back with $20 worth of merch. I had some time before tonight's Elite Event at The Sandbox, so I decided to do some shopping at the nearby TJ's. While they were out of the mini totes, and the stir-fried cabbage with garlic along with the pork belly was discontinued, there was enough there to make my visit worth while. They still had my rainbow baby carrots, the frozen kimbap, the scallion pancakes, and the corn chip dippers. You definitely get your money's worth!

Only get your dry goods here! The produce has always been awful but today pushed me over the edge when the Caesar salad kit I got for dinner had moldy cheese in it. Lesson learned!

This branch of Trader Joe's always seems to be busy. Their side of the shared parking lot with the other businesses in this shopping plaza is disproportionately full compared to the other end where Rite Aid is located. The customer service here stands out right from the very beginning when a worker asks if you need a cart upon entry into the store. The square footage is not the largest by any means, but the layout is very spacious and customer friendly. I was impressed by how the inventory was neatly organized on the shelves, and you rarely noticed any empty spaces where something was sold out. If I had to nitpick, I do wish there was better separation and/or labeling of product categories. For example on one shelf, there were pet food items and then all of the sudden, human snacks appeared right next to them without a divider. A worker helped facilitate the line at each register by taking your cart or basket and placing it on the counter behind the currently served customer ahead. That is not a practice you will see at the large chain grocery stores. I can see why TJ's has a loyal following based on some of my observations at a recent visit.

A car pulled out away from the curb so I snagged that spot. I entered was looking for a cart asked a couple people and apparently the carts are down in the garage so yes, there's a garage underneath just in case you needed to know and now I know for future. I managed to find a cart. Loaded up with ice went to self check out, which is very simple. They had a handheld device to scan my bag of ice times 15. I was on my way Glad there's a Ralph's nearby that made this excursion. Very simple.

I try to avoid this store as much as possible. Which means I have to go out my way on public transportation i mean, seriously, this is not the backwoods of alabama and one of those other seriously racist states. This is supposed to be beautiful San Diego California it doesn't make sense how people can be so evil and nasty towards a person They've never encountered before, and I'm pretty sure when they were hired, they didn't inform H. R that they were going to treat certain customers in a nasty and vile way And it's awful how management condones this behavior Because the employees are very comfortable in their actions It is not okay to make someone feel uncomfortable or unaccepted. In an establishment that you don't own it's also ashame that the machine where I put in my phone number and pin Number tells me thank you for being a value customer across the screen i've never heard that from an employee since my shopping experience at the store. my whole career was in customer service and it would bothered me if I knew that I didn't put my all into making a customer feel satisfied. Or at least appreciated.love thy neighbor is a commandment not a suggestion Do better Ralph's replacing people with robots is starting to sound like a good idea.

This particular Trader Joe's is located in the Liberty Station area and is beautiful! It's off the main street before entering deep into the hustle of shopping and eateries. We quickly checked it out and found our favorites! This trip, we bought some dips, chips, quick frozen meals, coconut water, smoked Gouda cheese and crackers, ice coffee concentrate, heavy whipping cream, and apples. They have their own parking lot. It seemed extremely busy and crowded. The employees were very friendly and helpful as always. They had samples out that day. I always loved sampling the newest thing. They had packages of the cooked bacon bits. They offered on top of a salad. It was very tasty!

Disappointing and Blame-Shifting Service at Checkout…read more I had a very upsetting customer service experience at the Point Loma location. While waiting at the register, the previous customer finished paying but stayed in the lane taking extra time to organize his money, completely blocking space while my items were already scanned and piling up. I didn't make a scene, yell, or say a word, I simply quietly shook my head in slight frustration while waiting. Instead of managing the lane or maintaining a neutral stance, both the cashier and the bagger immediately turned their attention onto me. They made defensive, unsolicited, and dismissive remarks ("he's just a kid," "he's a paying customer"), effectively turning a minor delay into a situation where I was made to feel like the "bad guy" for simply standing there waiting to pay. As a paying customer, being publicly judged and belittled by store staff over a completely harmless, silent reaction was deeply unprofessional. I spoke directly with the store manager after the incident to report this behavior, but the staff's conduct was unacceptable for a store that usually prides itself on friendly service.
