This Krisp location is a nice market. It does not offer the sandwich shop and pizza like some of their other locations do, but it still offered those groceries and pantry items that are deemed necessities and the some. They offer a good wine and beer selection, and plenty of chips and snacks and stuff. The place is pretty well organized and clean. The lady at the register was nice and informative. Stopped by here on a Thursday night around 6pm. It's a perfect spot to grab small things to help you make dinner. It's well lit and clean. It's a bit cramped in there, so turn the corners slow because chances are you'll run into someone. There's also a grab and go section where you can get a big slice of pizza, subs and more. Wouldn't say all of the food looks entirely fresh but when options are limited, you're stuck which sucks that this is how we have to live. I feel like this place is great to grab a few items but wouldn't come here to buy everything in my cabinet. Their beer and alcohol selection is pretty good. Nice selection of products. Krisp is great mainly because of its location. Most people in OB don't particularly like to leave the town if they don't have to a Krisp fills the grocery store need. It's on the smaller side but has just about everything you need to put off a big grocery trip outside of town. I've gotten many high quality meats at counter in the back and the owner is a nice guy who always has a treat for my dog. It's great to stock up for a beach bbq or grab produce right in the middle of town. It has a sort of Sprouts or Trader Joe's type feel to it. read more

The prices listed for their food items are incorrect and instead of letting people know, they just print you a receipt to take to the register with a 30% increase in price. I asked the cashier about it and instead of fixing the mistake I was told the prices are changed online. That's cool and all but I'm shopping in store and a $7 burger was enough to pique my interest. It's a small thing but annoying and wasn't addressed correctly. Throw some tape over the prices if they're outdated. read more

I have never written review before and this is my first time visiting Krisp. Was craving a burger and the sign read Smashburger & Fries for $13. These 5 stars are all given to the cook Hector! I wish I could give it 10 stars! We got a Smashburger & Fries, and a Chicken & Mushroom Stromboli. Best Burger in OB Hands down! And the Stromboli was AMAZING as well! Super soft crust and the pesto was just right. Hector gets down in the kitchen. We tried to find him to let him know how much we enjoyed the meal but he was off. Don't sleep on this place. Side note: We waited probably 15 or more minutes for the food but Hector brought out a stool for me and the other woman waiting there, which was a nice gesture. The cashiers were friendly and we bought a nice bottle of gin while we waited. I didn't explore much of the store but based on the hot kitchen alone, I will be returning. :) read more

The Krisp deli has no problem accepting phone orders but struggles with fulfilling phone orders, which is the most critical part of the ordering process. I'm sure their sandwiches are delicious but at this point I don't plan to find out. read more

Great addition to the OB food scene. Sandwiched are awesome and and huge. Great selection as well and pricing is modest. Pizza by the slice I think are the best in the neighborhood. You can grab food and then go to Cheswicks or California Wild ales to eat them and enjoy a beverage. Great crew and I'm headed there now to try their lasagna. Small stores are tough to make a go of but w their ready to eat food side I'm hoping they will last a very long time. read more

I am a younger lady, 21 years old, and as I was leaving this store yesterday, I was accused of shoplifting in front of several other shoppers by a woman (with very very curly reddish-orange hair) working the at the register. I let her check my bag (while there were 6-8 people watching) and she confirmed I hadn't stolen anything, but still proceeded to tell me to get out. I was humiliated and embarrassed to say the very least. I felt extremely uncomfortable and didn't know what else to do other than offer to let her check my bag to show her I wasn't stealing. I understand being located in Ocean Beach there is probably a lot of theft, but that doesn't mean it's okay to accuse someone of stealing. Its not okay to accuse and intimidate a young person who was on her own, in front of a bunch of people just trying to buy their groceries, of doing something they're not. The new place. YES!! I really love the AC isn't blasting at -60 degrees. I no longer need a parka to grab some cheese dip. I also love all the new products and local brands. Why are these prices so high ? 10$ for a jar of Mayo ??????? 8$ for a small crappy crest toothpaste ? I am willing to pay for convenience and shopping local but, I sense greed. I really miss the previous staff and owners of Appletree. The new team is not very friendly, they keep the temperature ice cold inside, even in the winter, so I have to wear two jackets to shop for anything. The poor checkout girl is wearing a jacket and scarf to keep warm! The service is slow and the prices are high. Fresh food and produce is necessary in OB, but relying on convenience and foot traffic, rather than good customer service is not okay. We stayed in OB for the week and went here daily. This store has an amazing deli counter. The butcher side has amazing fajitas, tri-tip, ceviche, pollo asada, and whatever else is needed. We dropped $250 in a week to make 50 meals (plus snacks) for our family of 7, easy. It was much cheaper and more convenient than going out to eat nightly! Great market within walking distance! the staff is very friendly and they love dogs, my dog gets a treat pretty much every time we go.

Two stars for the friendly cashier. One star otherwise. We ran in here quickly while on vacation in Ocean Beach. Our toddler was hungry and refusing all food we had offered. We decided to resort to hotdogs and string cheese, his usual favorites. We of course expected prices to he higher than our grocery stores at home in AZ. We grabbed the hotdogs and string cheese. The hotdog prices were reasonable and there was a specific brand of string cheese marked down. We checked out and headed about a mile back to our hotel. We didn't realize until we got there that half of the hotdogs in the package were greenish. We ended up tossing them instead of risking feeding them to our kid. I looked at the receipt and realized that I was charged $3 more than the marked price for the string cheese. Overall, not a good experience. read more
