I have heard so much about Trader Joe's over the years, from Cincinnatians (if that's even a word) and others about amazing wines and cheeses for (relatively) cheap, and according to all Trader Joe's schmoes, TJ's would solve all ills! Fast forward to today, where I try to be health conscious but usually am too poor to afford it. I was excited to try TJ's out! Well, okay ... they have some interesting things. I guess I went in there with unrealistic expectations. I thought they were a gourmet grocery store. They are .... to an extent. I was REALLY hoping I'd find whole wheat pastry flour there, but no such luck. In fact, this location doesn't have any flour! What? I also read that TJ's were supposed to have tofutti sour cream, but this location had none (which I needed for a recipe). Sigh. On the plus side, they had arborio rice, quinoa, and hazelnuts - all things I was looking for, but they weren't on the urgent list. I know it's a new location but their baggers and cashiers seem a little lackluster, to put it nicely. One put my bananas at the bottom of my bag, where they got bruised. I tried to be friendly and was ignored. I don't know. Their cheese section was interesting and all, but there really wasn't anything that special about it. I'm disappointed. I'm cheating on my local Joe's with this location because here they really know how to satisfy. It's perfect for a quickie grocery run because the parking lot is gigantic with plenty of exits out to Roswell Road, and on Saturdays they keep every single register open. They're not afraid to try something new, as they have by far the largest selection of loose, fresh produce that I've seen at a TJ's. Also, they don't hurry you out when you're done. Instead, they really turn on the charm; I actually saw a cashier offer to help a woman carry her groceries to her car. Trader Joe is an old friend of mine from California. i like everything about this top quality grocery store except one thing: the meat department, or a more fitting description, the meat case. Trader Joe's has no in store butcher, all the meats come in prepackaged which is not to my liking. The age on some of the meats was a litlle scary as they were turning gray. I absolutely love everything else about this place. Their prices are lower than Publix, Kroger, and the like. Of course they beat Whole Foods on price as well. The Trader Joe's branded products are all very good quality and contain all natural ingredients. The store only stocks items that it tests interanally, which amounts to some great products on its shelves. read more

Trader Joe's - Grocery Near Me - Sandy Springs, Georgia

This is a highly excellent store, and it's one of my favorite reasons for living in the Sandy Springs area. All the food is marked with easy to read signage concerning the nutritional information. This item is organic! This item is gluten free! This item is made from rainbows AND YOU WILL LOVE IT! The prices are also cheap when compared to Whole Foods or Natural Foods. Obviously more expensive than Walmart, but I am a single 20-something with no kids who makes about $30,000 a year and I can afford to shop there on a budget. Great stuff. Some of their best items: turkey chili with beans, mango sorbet, roasted seaweed, and Greek yogurt (try the mango!). The cashiers are always super friendly and attentive. I never have to wait long in line. Also, if it's your first time, they ring a bell (awww) and they give you a reusable shopping bag. The only major downside - and the only reason I'm giving this store 4 stars instead of 5 - is that the selection isn't ultra-fantastic. I can get about 80% of my items at TJ's, but I have to stop by Kroger for the rest, like gluten-free crackers and flours (Trader Joe's does have an excellent almond meal at a great price, though). Just a few of the Things I like at Trader Joe's: Safari Coffee (extinct) Trader Ming Plain WonTon Chips (extinct) plus some other stuff I have forgotten about. It is pretty easy to find stuff you like at Trader Joe's but you should probably make sure that other people like it too...or it will be gone. I love the Cheese Section, I love the meats (and by "meats" i mostly mean I like the charcuterie) as well. The canned corn may actually be better than frozen. Prices are nice and the staff is usually top notch, except when they are overly chatty. Overall this is in our regular rotation of grocery stores. People that love Trader Joe's the most...usually from out of town...where there ARE NO Trader Joe's. read more

Nice, clean store, lots of employees working, virtually a no wait check out. TJ's never disappoints, from beautiful flowers, orchids, to bakery, produce, frozen, cold case and snacks, vitamins, juice, large wine selection and sweets. This TJ is larger than the one is usually go to in peachtree corners. It's got everything you'd expect a TJ to have so not much to say except that it's larger than what I'm used to so it had a greater selection of things. Namely, a bread and bread goods section. I love Trader Joe's! This particular location is fairly typical of a TJ's, as well as pretty small. However, they always have everything I need and it is easy to get in and out of (well, not the parking lot but that isn't their fault!) I primarily shop at TJ's for their frozen food, grocery items, and dog food. A huge can of high quality dog food is $1.09 which is saving us a ton of money compared to the smaller cans we were buying for $2.39. The frozen chicken breast and fish are a great deal and the quality is good. Sometimes I wonder how I lived without Trader Joe's for so long but now that we live in Atlanta and there are what? 7? around, I don't have to worry about it!!! read more

Was in the neighborhood so I just couldn't resist popping in for a long-time-coming shopping spree at Trader Joe's - just like the good old days in SoCal... Staff are friendly, prices are still low enough, plenty of variety, and they still have their "Two Buck Chuck" though $2.99, just 1 cent shy of $3 - got a Shiraz and a Pinot Grigio this time. Love their assorted Parisian style macarons - only they're too small in size! Also, please bring a store to DOUGLASVILLE!!! The local Aldi has comparable products to TJ's (and is cheaper!) and is well frequented by new arrivals from other states, expats from the world over and plenty of chefs! My mother is 80 and we went this morning for the 60 and over. The man in front would not let me in with her. I understand safety I am wearing a mask and sanitizing. My issue is that he was rude and yelled at me. "WE HAVE TO PROTECT OUR SENIORS! " My mother needs help and he wouldn't allow her to shop with me. So that sucked. This affirms that Trader Joe's will no longer be a stop for me or my mother. If the man was nicer it would have made all the difference. This is a nice TJ's. It seems more spacious than the one in Midtown. Not as packed as the one in Midtown.

I like Trader Joe's in general and shop here semi often. This one though it was a first visit and i was killing time waiting on a friend. It was as the other comments say outstanding. The staff are amazing and in general all was great except the flowers. Not good, not fresh, I heard another lady making the same comment. The trader Joe's in Marietta could take a lesson from this one.The staff there were obnoxious. I will definitely return to this one when in the area. read more

Came here this weekend - I've not shopped a lot at Trader Joe's, but a friend turned me onto their cauliflower rice, and I'm trying to find good ways to eat more veggies.... so I drove over from Vinings to find that they were out of the frozen cauliflower rice that I wanted. I cursed under my breath and turned around, and a store employee was right there, asking if she could help me find a particular item and then she went and found it in the back of the store for me! I picked up a few more items that looked interesting from the frozen foods section, and then when I got to the checkout, the cashier was awesome! He gave me new recipe ideas based on the items I was purchasing and different ways to combine them to make yummy dishes. I was super impressed with the staff at this Trader Joe's - I've never run across grocery staff that puts forth that kind of effort. With this kind of customer service, I'll definitely be back. I really dig this place! Believe it or not, I had thought about what it would look like if there was an ocean in this area, and all of a sudden when I first walked in to Trader Joes, they have that big painted of the King and Queen building with an ocean, I couldnt believe my eyes, it was very cool! Well, anyways, this place has a great variety of foods, breads, desserts, drinks etc. My personal favorites are the two buck chuck, and oh man, their cookies are reeeeally goood! Have you ever been to Trader Joe's, walking own the aisle, hear the bell ring and wonder, "what is the bell for?" Well I was in the Sandy Springs location and the bell rang for me!!! Purchased some eggs and at check out, he checked out my eggs and found a crack. He rang the bell for someone to come and get me a new dozen. Pretty sweet!! I've never had the luxury of visiting a Trader Joe's before moving to Sandy Springs, but now that I have I'm hooked! This place has a great variety of quality organic food, gourmet cheeses and fresh produce. They even sell a guacamole kit, how cool is that? They also have a couple of bath and body products. The lavender oil, and lavender soap are my favs. I always end up at the wine section (bad habit I know) to pick up a bottle of Trader Joe's wine, and at $2.50 a bottle it's steal. The Shiraz and the Chardonnay are my usuals, but I've heard they're all pretty good. Like many others I'm digging the frozen food section, they have this great pizza with kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes and feta cheese, and these tasty lemongrass chicken sticks...... yum. If you've never been to TJ's then you are definitely missing out on a good thing. Check it out, you'll be glad you did! read more

My wife and I had a quiet Thanksgiving dinner at home, just the two of us, which turned out great thanks to Trader Joe's. We bought a pre-cooked, pre-seasoned half-turkey that was advertised in one of their recent flyers, plus a pumpkin tart and some other fixin's, so the prep effort was minimized and the enjoyment was maximized. We have a lot of favorite items that we get from this Trader Joe's on a regular basis, though I agree with other comments that we wouldn't do ALL of our grocery shopping here. Friendly staff, good samples, good bargains (I try to always buy soymilk here, for example), and some really yummy items that you can't get anywhere else. Having moved here from California, where I was a Trader Joe's shopper, 10 years ago, I was very happy when Trader Joe's opened up here in Sandy Springs so close to home. read more

What's not to love about Trader Joes? Awesome produce & great wine selection. The frozen foods that are sold here will pretty much change your life... YES.. they are that great! If you are a super busy person they will reduce your stress level.. The staff at trader joes seem to be from another planet because they are ALWAYS super helpful, polite and really seem to love their job. The prices are not quite as high as whole foods prices because they sell off brands here, but the quality is the same. This is great for everyday stuff or if you find something here that you just can't get enough of (I can't say no to the pecan granola - it will driver you bonkers its so delicious). The selection isn't as large as whole foods but you can get ALMOST everything you need here. my husband and i love shopping here - it's a treat for us! while Publix and Kroger are better for everyday food shopping, we love stocking up at Trader Joes. my favorites are the breads, chips, cheeses, wines and specialty items. the frozen food section is glorious as well! love "just pasta" which is a steamer bag pasta that i can put in the microwave and bring my own sauce for. my husband loves the mexican frozen food (burritos, tacos, empanadas, etc.). my mom loves the blueberry trail mix and i send it to her often, as they don't have them where she lives [trader joes]. there are always samples to try as well as coffee. the staff is very friendly and helpful. i have not won a free re-usable bag yet though... when you bring your own, you get to sign up to be in a raffle. beautiful fresh flowers here as well - i'm always tempted to snatch some up but i kill all plants i bring into my house (i'm cursed). please go here at least once a month to break free of the boring grocery stores you're used to. you won't regret it! read more

The customer service here is good; they're always friendly and willing to help and many times they'll approach you if you're looking at a product and ask if you have any questions. However, I'm not a big fan of their produce department. The selection has never been the best to me and I find that their items spoil more quickly. Though the parking lot is a little wacky and poorly designed, it never feels crowded to me here and I've never had to wait very long at the registers. This is a great location. read more

This Trader Joe's is always packed or busy. I come whenever I need a few certain items but I don't shop here regularly. The one time I bought bread from this location, I got home and found that it was moldy. I mainly try to stick to the Frozen or packaged items because of that experience. I heart this TJ's location for the people that work here. They are super friendly and know their products. They're always helpful and ready with recommendations on new products etc. The checkout line wait has never been more than 2-3 people deep and even with that the attendants take the time to put on a smile and chat. The location is easily accessible and there is ample parking. Total win! read more
