Most of the time she used no pressure and just grazed her hands over me, i dont actually know how someone could give a massage that felt so bad no only was it extremely light pressure somehow it was painful. She would be tugging and knocking and all sorts of things to compensate for the no pressure. It also felt like her hands were just going over my body no finger work or skill al. I struggled with people that barely went skin deep to therapists that focused only on fixing to the point that I left their offices hurting more than when I did when I came in. That was until I met Shannon. She is a truly incredible massage therapist! From the moment I walked in her doors, she was completely attentive to not just what I said, but how I moved and held my own body. She listened not just to what hurt, but also asked what I did daily and talked about how that might affect my body and focused on those areas as well. When I was on her table, she noticed things about my body that I didn't realize, and ways in which she could help me and referred me to other people that could help in different ways. Every time I leave her office I feel completely renewed. I can even feel the effects the in the following days when I go to rehearsals and dance and use my body again. Her new location is also absolutely wonderful! Not only is it a cozy, professional, comfortable place to walk into, but her massage table is a dream (I later learned it is made of memory foam). We got the one-hour combination massage and both massage therapists were great and used good strength. Mine focused on deep tissue, pressure points, and some Swedish techniques. He was very good and my partner enjoyed his massage too. I was very surprised by the prices, which are unbeatable. I can't believe they still offer 30-minute foot massages for less than $30. We would definitely return the next time we are in Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz is an eclectic mix of folks and it is always a small world. We found Keri because her mother does my bf's hair and we decided to give her a try. One of my favorite Yelp reviews thus far in 2010. Keri by far is one of the sweetest, funniest, most energetic and AMAZING TIMES A MILLION masseuses I have ever had. First she worked at a local salon and then by luck found herself working for movie stars at an exclusive spa for nine years (she has some hilarious tales). Now as she puts it "she wants to get back in reality." She is a one stop shop and does mani and pedis, facials and massage (massage is her passion). Keri currently works at a local upscale spa doing facials however Tuesdays and Thursdays is free to do the following: Her rate is 60 dollars an hour (1 dollar a minute) either at her studio OR for an extra 10 dollars she will come to you. I got an hour and a half massage from her courtesy of the BF in the comfort of my own home. All she needs from you is a pillow case to cover the head rest and she brings everything else. Keri incorporates aromatherapy while doing the massage and by the end of the hour and a half I was totally relaxed and my neck and lower back were completely stress free. I first ran into her at Ventanna Inn & Spa in Big Sur, California; to my dismay she no longer worked there so I tracked her down (she is that good) and I am so happy I did.
