Recently I put my son in a summer program that supposedly would provide educational programming as well as martial arts and extra curricular activities. Little did I know that they weren't going to do any of these! Not only that; they had me complete and sign a form with just my sons' basic information and they would complete the rest later on. Because I have family friends who recommended me this program, Ms. Destiny Quinones offered me the price of $50.00 a week. When Mr. Kai Evers came to complete the form w. me and he wrote the price of $95.00 I told him that was not the price and he offered me the price of $70.00 a week. I told him I couldn't and that I wasn't going to put my son there if that was the price. I asked them for the form and they said they were going to hold it in case I came back. Ms. Destiny who is the one in charge of enrolling or telling parents things they want to here, told my family friend that they will give me the price of $50.00. I then returned and re-completed the same basic information and signed. I never put my card information, and always paid at the location. 3 Months after the summer program ended I received bills from MEMBER SOLUTIONS. According to them I signed a contract stating I was going to pay 95.00 a week (I didn't , they completed the billing portion of the form on their own after the program ended) !!! Here I am month later getting billed extra money that I never was aware I had to pay or that I signed a contract. THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE ON TH FORM THEY PUT MY SONS SCHOOL AS A SCHOOL IN THE AREA AND THATS COMPLETELY FALSE. I Recently moved here so my son has never been and still isn't enrolled in a school here. (They do dumb stuff to make it obvious that they scam, once you see the contract when you ask for a copy because of the excessive charges!) I went to the location and Ms. Destiny tells me shes aware that I was to pay 50.00 a week and doesn't know what happen. THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS EMAIL THEM!!. LOL . The fact that you complete forms and do business with them at the location and when you have a problem they tell you , those matters are only handled via email is outrageous to me. THEY DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE TO CONFRONT THE SCAMMING AND FRAUD THEY DO TO A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY. NOT ONLY DO THEY HAVE AN F!!!! I checked it out today and our experience from how we were treated at the door was unpleasant and we had to walk out almost right away. The man sitting at the front desk who handed me a paper to fill out greeted my son absolutely wrong. I could not even focus on filling out the paper because I could not believe what I was hearing. Karate is no excuse to speak to a child in a disgusting manner belittling him. He was mocking my son and had the attitude of "huh I can't hear you speak up" response. He told my son he would call him "cheesesteak" or some nonsense. He told my son "what are you here for fitness, swimming??. This was said to imply what exactly because I don't think you even offer that. You are advertising for karate and kickboxing. I asked the man is this how you greet the kids? He said they need to interact with the kids. Is that what you call interact? That was a negative interaction for the first time meeting the child and parent. That was bullying behavior. Behave with respect and professionalism! Not ethical at all because he actually thinks he's talking in the "right" way. He immediately crossed the line. This was just the greeting. I can only imagine getting more into the classes. I told him my son was feeling uncomfortable and he did not even care to apologize. He was only concerned about me giving him the paper I filled out. Why should I give him the paper after that negative interaction? My concern is tending to my son who is there humiliated and crying. Awful experience!

GFI was great in letting me keep and take my classes after re-openning this year. Over the last 8 months, I've noticed that I've gotten more muscular and my belly has gotten smaller (I should have used tape measure before and now). I don't use the scale for measuring my health so I'm not sure about weight change. The reason that keeps me coming is that the bag work (punching and kicking) is super fun and I can see the improvment in technique, speed, and power. The teachers & staff are suportive and give me the gentle push to help me improve further. This may not be for everyone but it's worth checking out.
