Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. I even learned a bit along the way. And the best part? Dave does the work himself. Sometimes he brings an assistant to help with simple stuff, but you're really hiring him -- not a random crew. He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! Dave was respectful and treated the place with care, and I would recommend his work to others. We think the garage looks great! Dave is passionate about his work and did tend to over-explain some things to me, so some people might enjoy that more than others but it was great to hear how much he knew about the subject!

We discussed and agreed to the project schedule and expectations. What transpired was a serious lack of transparency and management. We were taken advantage of including paying for work that was never done and were told it was, hurried work that required rework multiple times, schedule slippage by multiple weeks causing us to incur additional costs and rescheduling subsequent contractors. John discussed making things right, however we were well past the point of allowing for this to continue and paid for a different contractor to finish the remaining rework. We hired Abbey to install a custom tile shower 6 years ago and after less than 1 year it leaked…read more They attempted a fix but after another 3 years it leaked again. After attempting to call and even a visit to the office no return calls were received. We hired another firm to rip out and replace the shower and found that the installation was completely wrong. As if armatures were doing the installation. We paid Abbey over $8k for the original installation and now we have $4k in fixing their subcontractors crappy work. They use subs for everything who have no skin it the game. Our new installer (a reputable company with a storefront in the community) stated that this was horribly incorrect and it is no wonder it leaked. DO NOT USE ABBEY DECORATING CENTER. BE WARNED!!!
