We hired A-1 Curb Appeal for concrete curbing around 5 large pine trees. Bryan texted to say the…read morecrew was on their way the morning of July 1 and he would stop later that afternoon. After the crew finished we immediately received the invoice which stated the final payment was due that day so I promptly paid it and Bryan never showed or texted. The next morning my husband and I questioned if reinforced steel cable was used in the curbing as the quote included that add on.  We called Bryan and he said there was a material of some sort that would hold the cement together. He did not confirm that cable was used. After our phone call I reviewed the quote and it clearly states  "using reinforced steel cable."  I then checked the few photos/videos I took during the install and there is no reel or cable attached to the machine confirming cable was not used. I sent Bryan an email July 6 voicing our disappointment on a few things but mostly dissatisfied cable was not installed. To date, we have not had a reply. Steel cable is critical for many reasons. It drastically increases the curb's tensile strength preventing concrete from separating, shifting or breaking apart. With our cold MN weather steel cable helps the curb flex and hold together, preventing it from snapping or heaving out of place. So sadly, we didn't get what was promised and now hoping we don't see cracking or heaving very soon.

We are hosting this year and will be showing off the great product he and his team installed. As far as the product that was made and installed, it looks GREAT! We were going for a knotty rustic alder look to try to match our kitchen and stairway. The match is perfect! I could tell he has pride in the work he does because he laser etched Thelen Cabinets logo in the exterior side of the drawer that is visible when the drawer is opened (see pictures). The slides for the drawers and soft close hardware on both the drawers and cabinets are so incredibly smooth. The cabinet shelves are adjustable and fit perfectly in the cabinet. The doors close perfectly with no gaps or loose parts. We are so incredibly lucky to have found Chad at Thelen Cabinets. He has gone above and beyond all of expectations to make sure that we are happy. I will be recommending Thelen Cabinets to everyone I come in contact with. From start to finish we NEVER had to ask for an update or wonder where they were in the process because he was on top of sending out the update email. We had a few painters say they would show up to give an estimate and never did. So we were extremely happy to see some follow through. We had never hired a painter before so the quote we received was higher than we budgeted for. Because of the weather and the time crunch we were looking at, he lowered the price to a level we felt was fair. We had our house painted within 3 days from the time we got our free estimate to the day the work was finished. It only took 1 day to paint the front of our house and we were very happy with the results. We would hire them again for all future painting needs.

I responded to schedule a time to meet and schedule the project, no answer. I followed-up again, no answer. I called all 3 phone numbers listed in the email, and every person just told me to submit the form on the website (which I already did). Not a single person was willing to just schedule me for the next steps. A month later, I receive an email from someone named Justin asking me to fill out the online quote request form, so I responded yet again that I have already received a quote and am ready to proceed with meeting and scheduling installation. You guessed it - no response. If it's this hard for me to give them my money and start a project, I'd hate to imagine what kind of service to expect once I've paid. Or worse, if there are issues afterward.
