Keats, with Trailblaze Adventure, took us on a sunset kayaking tour and can I just say how amazing he was. He was super patient and knowledgeable. Even though some of us knew how to kayak, the fact that he took time to make sure to help people like me (who has but didn't know all the technique) was great. If I could give you guys more stars, I would. Definitely coming back when I come back to Myrtle Beach.

Our tour guide, Keats. Thanks Keats!

Keats, with Trailblaze Adventure, gave us a sunset tour on paddle board that we will always remember. My daughter and niece were familiar with paddle boarding. I was the newbie. Keats gave us good instruction on land first, then took us to the water for a lesson. Keats planned the tour according to the tide. We went out into the inter-coastal waterway and headed to Hogs Island. He gave us a walking tour of this little island and shared the history of it. We then had time on our own to explore while we waited for tide to change. There are places in the world where I feel closer to God. For me, the beach is one of those places. Experiencing the ocean, seeing a majestic blue Herron, feeling the sand, hearing the gulls, and then watching the sun set...amazing! Will definitely do this again.

Great time with Keats! He made everything easy for us, and even gave us a little paddle board lesson when we were at the island, which was super fun.

I had an amazing experience paddle boarding on the Private Island Adventure tour with Trailblaze. Keats and Meara were super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Keats on our private island kayak adventure. He was so knowledgeable and we felt like we had a really special one-on-one experience. The island was magnificent, and we found spectacular shells. We'll definitely be back.

Keats was our guide and did a good job. Island was very nice to walk on. I had never been in a kayak and it was very enjoyable.

We arrived at the boat ramp and met up with Keats and Meara to find we were the only ones on the tour.

Next time, I would also supplement with surfboard rental for $10/hour or $30 per day to practice in between lessons. Season ends labor day so if you're interested in lessons after this, would recommend calling. Recommend coming during the week as the beaches are less busy. The surf lesson hut is right at the edge of the beach and the parking lot near the hotel's water park area. Check in and signing waivers are at the surf shack. Open cubbies (not secure) to leave towels, sandals, small ice cooler etc behind the shack. Outdoor open shower for general use to rinse off afterwards located behind the shack on the way to the beach also. Parking: Booking instructions say that there is a white 2-story parking structure across the street (unknown cost) as I did free street parking.

The best things for me as the parent were 1) the price and 2) the flexibility. $10/ hr can't be beat. And for novice surfers, the fact that they could try and then come back and switch boards if needed took a lot of stress off of us to pick the perfect size or shape. Very happy we chose Jack's. *note that driving directions took us to a different business parking lot. Jack's is a kiosk in the parking lot in front of the pier.
