Olde Towne Branch Karla Bravo Rayon, Awesome!!!! Very detail oriented and is member focused. She helped guide me through my car loan with ease and the process was painless. This Credit Union is "ONE OF A KIND" they are definitely not your average "Cookie cutter" Bank. I feel comfortable and welcomed by the staff. They treat you as a member and not an account number. The decisions on loans are made locally so you don't wait forever to get a decision. You are treated more than just a credit score as you build your relationships with them. The staff has a tendency to actually know you on a first name basis! Of the 5 credit unions I have been a member with, Trailhead is the LEAST convenient! Their interest was advertised as 3%, but they rarely delivered that. Software is crap: I am must log-in to count the 10 required purchases per month. In the 4 years I've mentioned this inconvenience, CU constantly claims they just can't afford the software help to build a widget. When I closed my account in 2020 (15 mins of them asking a manager how to do that), I received no final accounting. They immediately closed my online bank acct. requiring me to call to request hardcopies my final 2 months of statements. After 50-min wait for their return call on a Saturday, I was told to "go to a branch to get my statements printed" or pay $4 per month for them to mail the statements. Two of 3 branches are open just 4 hours on Saturday (Old Town closed Saturdays), so I have immense hardship reach a branch on my 30-min lunch break. I am relieve to have close this account. read more

I had given a glowing review in the past, but a longer experience with this hobby-like credit union gave me new insights. We were moving, so we had saved the thousands of dollars that it would take, which sat in the bank for a bit. The moving day came, I withdrew $550 for the trash hauler who removed the cast-offs from 13 years in the same home, and the discards because we were moving into 1/3 the space for twice the money. (ah, Portland!) At that time I changed our address to the new one at the bank with one of their friendly staff. And we chatted about moving... I used our debit card to pay our first and last month's deposits online to a local company. When it came time to withdraw money to pay the movers, our card had been put on hold. Apparently, the bank had never imagined that moving would require many transactions, none were sketchy, and all were normal expenses. But they were nervous...and do you think we received a notice that our card was stopped? No, it was a delightful surprise. Do you know what Trailhead doesn't have? Any weekend or after-hours customer service at all. So here we were, trying to pay the movers that we hired to load and unload our rented van, and we could not use the debit card to withdraw cash. So here I am, desperate to pay these very nice men, but I have no, absolutely no recourse at the bank, I'm stumped. Then I, already dead tired, have to get on the bus, transfer to another and attempt to buy a money order at Fred Meyer. Much to my relief the transaction went through! But because they expected cash, and were leery of what to do with a money order, I gave them $100.00 dollars extra. Being a customer at this "quirky Portland Credit Union" ended up as a shit show, filled with drama and stress, on a very stressful day. If you ever anticipate the need to contact your bank about anything, outside of their business hours, Trailhead is a horrible choice of banks! read more

Terrible customer service. I've been banking with trailhead for about 4 years now and didn't have many issues until just recently. Went into a branch to make a wire transfer to Japan and they screwed up the transfer details twice. First the swift code was wrong then I found out they were a digit off on the bank account #. Had to wait over two weeks for the money to come back and transfer again. First they told me that the Japanese bank needed to refuse the transfer but that wasn't true. Trailhead needed to cancel the transfer. Then trailhead told me they couldn't cancel the transfer and we just had to wait for it to magically bounce back. I had to call them over 10 times to figure out what was going on with my money. Finally the third manager I finally got through to said it has been cancelled and we just had to wait a few days for it to come back. Then after another week I called again and was told that it could take another 2 weeks. Finally when it did come back the manager that was helping me place the transfer again showed me the document that they were going to send and I spotted 2 new additional typos. I provided the proper documentation for each transfer first to the teller then to the manager. Don't waist your time. If you expect any sort of customer service with your money you should definitely go elsewhere. Just getting through to someone takes hours over the phone. This whole ordeal brought an immense amount of stress to my life. read more

I have been coustomer for many years, one of their banker or maybe he is branch manager he is always in very bad mood. He always talks with me with anger. I never seen this much poor coustomer service in any where else. Last week when I tried to get my money and transfer it in another bank to invest in my retirement account, they did not explain that there is fee for cashier check. When I requested to put money back and I was gone do online transfer I was yelled out very loudly, it has been done. This is not the way a long time coustomer that always put big amount money in this bank has to be treated. I complained to the coustomer services center but they did not follow my concern. That person whoever he is supposed not to be deal with customers, somebody is gone fight him back. He does not any patient at all. If you have questions from your account, forget this branch. I never had this much horrible experience in any other bank or credit union. read more

Awful customer service and incompetent employees. My card expired over a week ago and I still haven't received a replacement card. I have made several phone calls only to be "transferred" then left on hold and finally disconnected. This is the third time I've waited for a new card past the expiration of the previous one. There is no excuse for this incompetence, and obviously they have no concern for their members. read more

I've been a customer since 1981. Received a call from card services regarding some possible fraudulent changes to my CC. They put a lock on my CC but I had to call in to get the charges taken care of and receive a new card. Had to leave a message and told they would get back to me. I have called and left messages for a week, not just on card services but with anyone. The crickets were deafening! I finally sent an email with title "Call Me" and got a response. I would go in to a branch but none of them are convenient, only for inner Portland. After 40 years, going to look for a different Credit Union. read more

I'm a little nervous being the first to review Trailhead Credit Union because now I feel like I'm opening up a secret about that one awesome place that you want to stay awesome. I'll be very upfront and admit that my primary reason for choosing to switch to Trailhead was their amazing 3% checking (up to $10k) offer. I may have not looked very thoroughly around, but I believe that was the highest in the Portland area. So big points to Trailhead for that. In addition to that, everything else about the bank was great. My wife and I met with Abby who was very friendly and made the process of opening our accounts super duper easy. It was great to work with her. After going to their online banking site I was impressed with the amount of features for a tiny credit union with just 2 branches. The design of the online site isn't all that fancy, but all the features I needed are there. Similarly the android app looks like it has a wild west theme going for it, but again, everything that is needed is there and the app is quick and doesn't lag. All in all, this place gets the job done and I'm quite happy with having an account here. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have banked with Trailhead for almost 10 years. I hit extremely hard times with a job loss and unemployment messing up; going 5 weeks without income. I called TCU and told them my situation weeks ago. I check my account balance and they charged me $570 in overdraft fees despite having no money in my account. Most of the fees were for the same overdraft charge, over and over again. I finally get a hold of someone today and I have never been treated so poorly in my life. As if my situation isn't hard and embarrassing enough! The manager at Old Town (he made sure to let me know he was the manager! ) spoke down to me, spoke over me, "excuse me , but you need to be accountable for your own money". I was in tears. They wouldnt let me close my account. Then they wanted me to magically show up at their Old Town location (which has limited business hours!) so they could "try to work with me". When? I work m-f in Vancouver, WA. What happened to empathy and compassion for people? What about equitable practices? Might as well be banking with another large corporate shady financial institution. read more

This credit union is one of the best financial institutions I've ever dealt with, when you walk in the lobby, it's warm and welcoming, the tellers always have smiles and greet you as soon as you walk in, I've never waited more than a few minutes to talk to anyone! The biggest thing for me was, they took a chance with me and gave me a personal loan to help me get my finances in order, and when I went in and asked for help, they were a mess, to me, this was the reason I'll never go to another Bank/CU, I can't say enough good about trailhead credit union! read more

I ended up with Trailhead Credit Union because I needed a car loan, and they offered me the best interest. Unfortunately it only went downhill from there. They lost my first payment, and I had to repay it, then they charged me a late fee for my second payment when it was actually five days earlier than the due date. They did fix that, however. And when I would call in to inquire about my account or to make a payment, NO ONE was on the same page. I would talk with someone and they would help me settle my problem, then someone else would call me the next day saying they would love to help me with the problem I already fixed the day before. This happened multiple times and was very confusing. Right when I was about to refinance my car under someone else, I was placed with Jackie Miller. She was fabulous. She knew exactly what she was talking about and was able to help me with everything I needed and I go to her from now on. So if you get a loan with them, ask for Jackie!! read more

I have been a member of Trailhead for quite a while now and I have not been pleased with the service I have received. At one point I was trying to call them and it told me to leave a message and someone would call me back. Nobody ever called me back even though I left my number. This has now happened at least 3 times. I also had mobile deposit a while back and apparently it has been revoked. I called to get it reinstated and the lady told me that it has been revoked for a reason but she did not know the reason so she could not tell me. Very irritated with their customer service! read more

The credit Union and employees are great, however their app for online banking is horrible!!! Every time I go to use it, my screen on my phone turns black and in order to use it I have to restart my phone....this is an indication that this app is buggy and needs improvement!!!! read more

This place was ok before they opened their Mississippi branch. They put random holds on my accounts making it difficult to do business at times, especially with shared banking. The manager, Jessica, said she would/could remove the hold but didn't. She was upset that I was frustrated about not being able to use shared banking. After I closed my account they decided not to send the check they promised, with my remaining monies. I had to call two weeks later to remind them. I never had a negative balance in the 3 years I was there, nor did I ever overdraft. Still they chose to treat me like a robber. Avoid this place. Also, you can be sure that they cater to the up and coming cream of the crop in gentrified Mississippi. If you think you are supporting Portland institutions by using this bank think again. read more
