We stopped at Trailside Roadhouse in Carnarvon during Bike Bash weekend, and honestly, they did a great job handling a big cycling crowd.
The place is dated and a little run down, but it is also a tiny trailside business, and for a bike trail drink stop, it worked perfectly. The ladies tending bar were fast, friendly, and attentive. Drinks came quickly, they were made well, and the prices were reasonable.
They clearly went all out for the Bike Bash crowd. They had a big barbecue set up outside with fresh hamburgers and hot dogs, plus shade tents and tables in the side yard. That was a really nice touch, especially with around 150 bike riders rolling through, plus whoever else came along for the fun.
There was plenty of loud music, room to spread out, and the whole place had a fun, relaxed bike-weekend feel. We probably stopped there five times over the weekend, so that should say something.
Good job, TRH. Not fancy, but friendly, accommodating, affordable, and exactly what you want along the trail. read more
