    Killer boxing workout by Joe!
    Leslie S.

I absolutely ADORE Joe and his training style. The group classes are so fun, there is camaraderie between all the class members, no attitudes! Joe makes sure everyone in the class receives individual attention and he modifies based on your fitness level. Joe pushes you in a way that's challenging yet fun. He'a master trainer and you can tell! Can't recommend highly enough.

If I could give Joe Ramirez and Marveye Harper 100,000,000 stars, I would! They are the best trainers I have ever had in my life! I have had trainers at various points.. I have severe fibromyalgia and I am working out five days a week and starting some private sessions. Joe's Bootcamp is an amazing, camaraderie of women Coming together to get fit. He watches our form And always asks us what do we want to work on! We set goals and he helps us achieve them! Coach Harper Really works on your boxing skills, And never let"s your form slide! There is a reason he has won best of the springs for several years in a row! He is the best! His Boot Camp for women is the best! I tried Other boot camps that don't pay attention to you and just have you do the program. Joe is walking the floor and looking for mistakes! He wants to make sure that you meet your goals! I love these two guys and highly Recommend them. Remember you get what you put in! Work hard and you will see the results!

At 32, I had been battling a disease for the past 6 years that caused weight gain (especially belly fat), fatigue, and chronic pain among other things. I had 3 surgeries and countless procedures and was really feeling my quality of life continually decline. My doctor warned me that losing weight would be hard but I was determined to prove I could do it. After many unsuccessful attempts of working out at home and wandering around the gym without any direction, I decided to make a change. I found Joe's group classes while searching online and from day one I was hooked. It's a "come as you are", positive, high energy atmosphere that will keep you motivated and on track. The workouts are always varied so you don't get bored or stuck in a rut. Joe will make sure you're doing what you need to do to push yourself while also avoiding injury by doing things properly and working through any limitations you may have. I started with two days a week but quickly found myself going 4 days a week and my results really accelerated. I dropped 2 sizes in the first 10 weeks. I've gained a lot of muscle, especially in my arms and legs. My energy level is up, I sleep better, my stress level has decreased, and my overall health has improved. On a recent hike, my dog decided she was done hiking and I was forced to carry her. I carried her in a backpack for 4-5 miles and she weighs 32 pounds. All I could think was that I wouldn't have been able to do that before I started working out with Joe. For the first time, I feel like my goals are within reach! It's truly been a life changing experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Train with Joe got me in the best shape for my wedding!

As far as gear goes, I'm an astrophile, so I loved the galaxy look of everything right away and was ecstatic to find that not only did it look good, but performed even better. The gloves I purchased are some of the most comfortable and durable that I own, and I cannot WAIT to grab rash guards and spats! As for training, I came to Alex and Jess from a traditional Okinawan karate background and found that they were able to identify some of the habits of the style right away. This helped me to understand how to quickly translate the knowledge I already had to pick up more of the boxing, MMA, and Muay Thai techniques that they specialize in. I think what I appreciate most is how they approach training for newbies and kids. My teenager had almost no prior training background, is introverted, and is not very physical by nature, by the end of a pretty intense session she was asking about getting her own gear! Truly a place where you will be treated like family and pushed to be your best, no matter if you're looking for fitness, pro coaching, or self-defense.

You never know how you discover your hidden talent or passion. When I saw this Elite event pop up…read morein Elite Squad, my first impression was, "Oh, no, this is so not me!" But after a few seconds later, I was like, "But what if I like it?" That tiny amount of curiosity pushed me to sign up while I was still hoping that I would not get in (LOL!!) While I was driving to get to the place, I was still nervous. Doubting myself heavily, I reluctantly dragged myself into the studio. AND THE REST IS HISTORY! Did I like it? No, I LOVED it! I had never thought kickboxing was this satisfying! Yeah, I used to work out at the gym having a personal trainer and all that but ever since I quit it, my middle-aged body had been rotting in my hell-like home office chair for my day job. I guess I was looking for a way to get out of the unhealthy lifestyle I had kept for years so today's session at Kickhouse became my wake-up call that I had waited for so many years. The instructors, Casey (hopefully I spelled it correctly) and Mike (I believe) were so engaging (you guys were awesome!!) And they weren't intimidating; they uplifted us mentally (not just physically.) Their contagious energy got us going and the 45-minute session flew by like the Japanese bullet train! I wish the session was a bit longer was the only complaint I could think of (well, I'm not really complaining!) I know I will be sore tomorrow. But it will be a joyful sore. A BIG "THANK YOU" to Yelp for organizing this wonderful event tonight!! Being part of this Yelp community is not all about food; it's about being physical as well! I'm totally sold for kickboxing; I'm HOOKED!!

I found them on Facebook. It was a challenge posting. I've been trying to figure out how to get…read moremyself back to the gym as I've never really been a "gym" person. I feel awkward, self-conscience and overall lost in a gym. I've tried the classes and being uncoordinated they proved to be even better at embarrassing myself in. I decided to give this a shot. As scared out of my mind as I was of all the above things, I walked through the door ready to listen. I sat down with Casey and had a talk about me, what I wanted and needed...that let someone in kind of talk. After some thought I decided to take the leap and give it a chance. I started with a class the next day. I felt like the new kid on the first day of school. I sat in the parking lot for a while before building the courage to actually walk through the door. One of those..the first step is actually showing up moments. I was excitedly greeted by Casey and because it was my first session one of the other coaches (Mike ) was my personal instructor for the day. Nope..no separate room..he just hung in my orbit after showing me how to stand and make contact as to not injure myself. He would come back and give me a few tips and form corrections as needed as well. I am proud to say by the end of the 45 mins I was still standing. Nope I can't do everything that the others can do but with few modifications and encouragement I will get there in time. Pros for me: I don't feel like the eyes of the world are watching me. No one is waiting around and glaring at me to get off a machine because I'm holding them up. No weird locker room experiences. Pros+ I've started to meet some new people who actually seem glad to see me. I don't feel awkward as beginner as I am with things. I've taken a big step in building my own strength. I'm started to feel a bit more coordinated. I got a cool new pair of boxing gloves. Check them out, you may discover something that scared you...you actually enjoy
