Let's…read morejust say I am on the large size, and I don't always feel comfortable dealing with fitness people, but this has not been the case at all with FIT. I am working remotely with their trainer Jeff. With a relatively small investment I have all of the equipment I need to transform my family room into a workout space each morning. I work out through face time with 3 other women, each of whom are in much better shape than I am. Jeff tailors a program for each of us, so that we are doing similar exercises at the same time fitting each of our needs. He has been particularly good at helping me find ways to continue to work out despite some knee issues. He is amazingly responsive. What I'm enjoying most is the balance in the workouts between strength training and cardio. By the end of every workout I really feel a sense of accomplishment and have worked up a good sweat. I feel that great feeling of having worked hard and accomplished something, but I don't feel so exhausted the rest of the day that my day is shot. I feel revved up rather than beaten down. If your looking for a way to workout from your home, I would give FIT a call. I find the cost reasonable. You don't need your own home gym just some weights, an adjustable weight kettle ball and a mat will get you started. I highly recommend.

I'm a pretty sedentary person and peeling me off the couch after a long day at work is nearly impossible. Fit Theory helps keep me more active than I would be, gets me in and out in 30 minutes, and keeps me on a consistent schedule. Regular gyms are often packed, no one cleans after themselves, and stuffy, but Fit Theory takes care of that my running multiple 1-on-1 sessions simultaneously so you aren't waiting on other people, prioritizes cleanliness, and has multiple air purifiers. It's a more pleasant atmosphere. What I like about Fit Theory is the convenient location on El Camino between the intersection of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Palo Alto. Since its in a central location, you can come in from work and then run errands right after. The property is large and has plenty of parking in the back. Signing up for classes is easy and flexible with an online app. Classes are individually tailored, but capped at 4-5 people per time slot. Everyone is really friendly and supportive. The 4-5 person cap per half hour time slot means that you save time by not having to wait for machines like you would at a gym for equipment that might not have been cleaned. You save a lot of time by getting access to the equipment you want and when you want it.

SVA is a great facility with state of the art equipment and method tracking your progress. I definitely recommend getting a trainer who can help you with programming if you're feeling stuck where you're at with fitness. They have an awesome community they put together. Everyone's got good energy when you come in here. Coaches are very experienced and knowledgeable. You won't be disappointed. They also do some community events like renting out a movie theater to watch Avatar 3 as well as diet seminars. For price point, it's in par with what you'd see at other places. I tore a tendon in my rotator cuff because I lacked muscle. My physical therapist assigned…read moreexercises, but it seemed like I was prone to tearing other tendons if I didn't start building muscle. I chose Palo Alto Fit because of its location and one-on-one training rather than a group class at, let's say, 24H Fitness. Before coming here, I didn't know how to use any of the machines, how to target certain muscle groups, or how to set reasonable goals while keeping track of my progress. However, through each session, I've learned how to use these machines and set goals for the week (especially regarding diet and lifestyle choices) so when I go about my day to day or do workouts on my own, I know how to determine an appropriate goal, workout weight, or set up a machine properly for myself. I knew I needed someone to help me one-on-one to understand my areas of improvement, and when receiving help and support, I strongly value consistency in my mentor/coach/tutor, which it seems PAF also values. I've been able to reschedule sessions (even last minute) while keeping my same coach, which is another point of appreciation! PAF starts you off with a free fitness assessment where they take your in-body scan and you talk about your goals. Every 4 weeks, you do another scan, and it's been great seeing and physically feeling the results!! It's been about 6 months now, and I only go once a week due to finances and scheduling, but it's worth every penny and I genuinely look forward to my workouts with my coach. My coach, Coach Joshua Villagomez, is well-versed in physiology and genuinely listens to me during the workouts and when I say I want to focus on a specific thing for my body. He pushes me to grow stronger and beyond the limits of what I could have ever imagined myself doing, and seeing the progress in the results has been seriously worth it. I've completed physical therapy much quicker than anticipated, and I'm now able to do more than before in terms of shoulder mobility and usage. I'm extremely grateful to him! I know everyone says their coach is the best, but he's seriously THE BEST. One thing that really helped me personally for financing this fitness journey was the flexibility for packages. They asked for the payment for the 12-week package (chose this package based on my goals and schedule) upfront. I genuinely can't afford that, but Nina (the owner) was kind enough to make a custom package that was realistically payable for me. She didn't want to turn me away because at the end of the day, health is wealth, and she helped me make that a priority. I'm not quite a gym rat yet, maybe just gym gerbil, but I'm excited to continue my health journey with my coach and PAF! -- Other things to note: - lockers, showers, small microfiber towels provided - I've even borrowed workout gloves when I felt like my hands were hurting from lifting the bar (an unfamiliar thing for me) - everything is kept extremely clean; it even smells clean all the time - water fountain inside - very well temperature-controlled (it could be 10° or 100° outside, but the inside is a good room temp) and good air flow - high ceilings - natural light - parking is easy (lot behind the building, street parking, and city garage across the street)

He knows exactly how to push your limits and challenge you without crossing the line into injury. The programming always felt intentional, safe, and tailored to my body, not generic or cookie-cutter. I got stronger and more confident without ever feeling wrecked. On top of that, sessions were genuinely fun. Isaac has a great personality, and our conversations made the workouts fly by -- which matters way more than people realize when you're training consistently. The facility itself is also excellent -- always clean, very well maintained, and never feels run-down. The shower rooms are a big plus and consistently spotless, which makes fitting workouts into a busy schedule much easier. If you're looking for a coach who truly understands the body, knows how to work around injuries, and still helps you make real progress (while keeping things enjoyable), Isaac is absolutely the one. Highly recommended!

In addition to the indoor gym, they have a short track outside plus bars for other types of exercises. The arrangements are directly with the trainers themselves, and your only transaction with the facility is a minimal facility fee to use the amenities there. Not your typical "gym" environment, for those of you sick of the gym culture. The only gripe I have is the tight parking situation and getting into and out of the parking lot is tricky as it's on a major intersection/by the 101 on/off ramp. Other than that, it's a reliable alternative to your gym trainers if you can afford it. They teach you skills on proper training and posture so you can eventually do these sessions on your own in the future.

He has everything you want in a trainer: professionalism; unparalleled expertise on all things health and wellness related; and a kind, friendly approach that will appeal to anyone. He knows just how hard to push you so you are always advancing, but not so much that you risk injuries, or become too intimidated to continue. He is open-minded, creative, and collaborative. For people who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant, know that he helped train my wife throughout her pregnancy and afterwards. Without a doubt, he is the reason that my wife was able to follow her own birth plan-the doctor was skeptical that she would be able to deliver without a C-section given the size of our baby and because she had spent 2 days in labor before beginning to push. But Jason had helped prepare her-both her core and her stamina-and she was able to deliver our kid safely in under 2 hours. The doctor called her the 'best pusher' she's ever seen-and that is because of Jason. In other words, he is perfect. Jason is also just a funny, smart, and interesting guy to be around-we have enjoyed not just working with him, but becoming his friend. We trust him with our life, and you will, too.

It has completely changed the way I train for the better! Working with Jason has really levelled up my understanding of how to train for functional performance, strength and mobility that will serve me in the long-run - how to move better, breathwork and recovery, integrating mobility, and the mind & body connection. I'm sure anyone who has trained with Jason will know that he is always learning, experimenting, and exploring new methods in his own training, and he will often share new insights and techniques with his clients. He draws a lot from his own practice and reflection, and I think that's why he has a really good grasp of how certain movement patterns work with your body, and where the gaps are. Not to mention I don't know what I would've done without his guidance when I strained my hip through running. He prescribed several drills that not only resolved the pain very quickly, but I've now come out of it with better body mechanics and alignment. I'm really grateful to have found Jason and I would highly recommend him!
