Positives (+): (+) Love that it's outdoors, gives you some fresh air, green grass, trees.. so nice when you live in a concrete jungle. (+) Milo is super positive, great at commending you for a job well done, you really do start feeling good about yourself. Like, "yea! I am doing a great job!" (+) Small classes - love the personal attention you get from the small class size. (+) Great intervals and circuits, heart rate up, heart rate down, heart rate up, heart rate down. (+) Customizations for different needs and fitness levels. Can't run? Bad knees? Milo is completely accommodating and will give you modifications for various exercises (+) One of the negatives of having outdoor workouts sometimes is no nearby restroom. Not the case here! I've been a regular client of Milo's for a number of years now. You will not find a more qualified and attentive trainer anywhere. His knowledge of the body and its proper training are exceptional. The fact that he has a college degree in physical dynamics of the body already places him head-and-shoulders above the rest. Add to that his years of experience, and you've got a top quality trainer. He pays close attention to how you are doing throughout the workout and adjusts things accordingly. On days that I tell him I am feeling draggy, he doesn't push and just lets me "get the blood moving" (as he says), but when I'm having more energy, he takes advantage of the opportunity to give me a hard workout. At my age (66), I need at trainer who is as concerned about my well-being as he is about getting good results. If I complain of a new ache somewhere, he adjusts the workout to make sure it isn't making it worse. He checks in to see if the previous workout was too much, too little, or, like Goldilocks, just right. It's always just right because he is that good. He is also completely professional in the way he conducts his business. You can always count on him to be on time and responsive to any communication about scheduling. Though I haven't participated in his fitness camp, I'm sure that must be well-run and a top quality workout, because that's just who he is. read more

I've been doing Milo's FitCamp in Mission Bay Park three times a week for a few months now. It was just what I needed to get active again after not exercising regularly for over 3 years. I like it because I can just show up when it's time for class and Milo leads you through the workout--almost as good as having a personal trainer, but more affordable. Milo is pretty good at making it easier for you if you are out of shape, or pushing you a bit if you can take it. Also I like that the exercises are varied--a bit of running, a bit of strength, etc.--but there are no big heavy weights or jerky movements (like some CrossFit classes), which scare me a bit because of the risk of injury. Plus it's super-convenient, there are morning and evening classes and you can show up whenever. You can pay monthly or buy single tickets or 10-packs (I'm out of town about one week a month, so I buy the 10-packs). Bottom line, this is a very convenient way to stay in shape. read more

Milo is an excellent trainer! I have done several other boot camps in San Francisco and I have stuck with Milo for about a year now, which is the longest I have stayed in one boot camp. Reason being, Milo is very consciousness about my form and accommodates my previous injuries hence keeping me from further injuries. He pushes me to my limits and I look forward to his classes. The boot camp is a great complement to my road cycling and keeps me in great overall shape. Milo works your entire body each boot camp. The class is geared for all fitness types because Milo can modify any exercise. Even after coming for almost a year now, I still have to modify the exercises on days I'm just not feeling it. I hadn't worked out in about a year, when my kids went on summer break i decided to start and try something new. I only had a couple months so i wanted to make sure i would get my 2 months worth!! After reading the yelp reviews i went to his website fitbymilo.com and just a few days later arrived at my first boot camp. it is based outside at a park, which i was not sure about at first but loved it! your sweating and getting a breeze :) and when the sun is out your getting a tan ( extra bonus for me ) Milo is great and knows his stuff! With 20+ years experience you feel confident he is steering you in the right direction. Looking at the shape he is in, he has been doing something right for a long time! I was nervous to go alone, but he makes sure everyone knows each other and is comfortable, pushing you the whole time but allowing you to move at your own pace. The classes are small allowing him to almost give you one on one training. You really feel it and you really see it!!! I am ending my 2 months in a couple weeks. I am very sad to have to be leaving because i have already noticed changes in my waist,arms and legs. In just 2 months my confidence has gone up and i feel great. I have been attending Milo's fit camp for a little over a year now. I came across a deal on Groupon and was hesitant to attend the class because I was overweight and out of shape. I was extremely insecure and embarrassed. I called Milo one afternoon and left a message and was surprised when I heard back from him within 15 mins. I explained to him where I was at physically and how hesitant I was to attend any kind of boot camp or let alone actually step foot in a gym! Ugh! He was extremely kind and encouraging over the phone and two days later I attended my first class. It was NOT a breeze but Milo was encouraging and patient every step of the way!! Neither he nor the other people in the class ever made me feel uncomfortable or intimidated. I was pretty sore after my first class but Milo emailed me and checked in to make sure all was okay and motivated me to return...and I did!!! I have lost 35 pounds, gone from a size 12 dress to a 2 petite and a size 14 jean to a 6-8 (depending on the brand). Moreover I have gained energy, muscle, confidence and am more fit than I have ever been! All of this was achieved with NO DIET, just clean mindful eating, dedication to exercise and the guidance and encouragement of Milo! I can't express how happy I am that I found Milo!! He has truly helped me change my life. He is passionate about what he does and truly cares about each of his clients. Milo is a great trainer and motivator! I have been attending his classes for the last 7 months and feel awesome! I was not a daily exerciser and felt tired and sluggish ALL the time. I wanted to make a lifestyle change but the gym (besides the smell), was always crowded and equipment always in use so never felt motivated to ever go. I kept seeing more and more specials online for boot camps, but always inside a gym or studio. I finally found Milo's and boy was I glad I decided on taking his offer! His location is outdoors and mostly always sunny (you never know in SF). His classes are never the same routine so you will never get bored. His workouts hit muscles and areas that you've probably never used before. The workouts include a little bit of everything; a bit running, jump rope, abs, etc.. so you'll definitely feel the burn! Plus, the time goes by real fast. Usually when at a gym, you are constantly looking at the time waiting to get out of there. With Milo's class, you can get fresh air; get a tan and a workout at the same time. LOL! Oh and there is plenty of parking so no worries about finding a parking space. There is class rain or shine. And if it does rain, we just move to another location for that day so you won't get wet. Milo focuses on your fitness goals and tries to help you achieve them. He is very knowledgeable and can answer any fitness or nutrition questions you may have. He even works around any injuries by modifying the workouts for you. Even I have some knee issues and Milo modifies my workouts to prevent further injury but I still get a workout in. I am actually sweating half into the class. That's how I truly know his workouts work! I can't express enough how much Milo and his boot camp classes have helped me. With Milo's help I am now a daily exerciser and no longer feel tired all the time. I have had great results from attending Milo's classes. I am healthier and in much better shape. I truly feel fit! Signed up for ClassPass and decided to try 7.30 am class Fit by Milo since it was conveniently located to my house. I found the class challenging but fun at the same time. I like that Milo starts the class with a good stretch and a warm-up. The class has a good mix of cardio and strength training. The best part is that the class is outside in the park and you get fresh morning air. The class is very dynamic and no room for slacking as Milo is paying attention to you throughout the class. Classes are 5-10 people. Milo is super friendly too and if you have injuries or hurt he will modify the work out for you. Great experience overall. Planning on keep taking the class. read more

trained with 4 or 5 trainers before Milo. some ok, some not so good. I stick with Milo because he is a professional. On time. Attentive. and Knowledgeable. Milo is a college grad in Kineseology. He knows the body and how it works. I have some physical problems. Knees, back, and shoulder issues. We work those areas safely. He is always right on it. Adjusts the exercise so I build muscle to alleviate the problem and am safe from further injury. Also, he adjust the routine to accomplish my goal body shape. Looking and feeling good at 60 is not easy. I couldn't or really wouldn't without Milo's help and guidance. read more

Milo's boot camp is fat burning awesome! Great location by McCovey Cove near the ball park right on the water front so its not crowded like Dolores Park with all the other boot campers. Plenty of parking where we are! HA HA! I've been to three other boot camp classes in the city and this is by far the best! It's more like personal training rather than a processing mill like some of the other larger boot camp classes. If you want to concentrate on a body part that needs more fat burning muscle building, tell Milo and he will modify the work out to get those spots. Five months into it and its not boring at all! He switches the work outs up and has some unexpected different gear to work with during our work out stations. The first time I did his class I couldn't even finish it... sad, but I stuck with it and Milo accommodated my level against the other people so I'd be able to keep at a good pace and not get a heart attack! LOL. and now...it's scary that I couldn't finish the first class but happy that I'm doing some things I never thought I could. Muslce mass gain = Check. Fat loss = Check.
