Yasu worked with me on my shoulder and I never needed the cortisone or surgery. I'm pretty sure I know what my health would be like if I hadn't been going to Zone Reps, and it would not be good. I go 5 days a week,. and I have never had the same workout twice. Each time there are new challenges, so it keeps your body guessing, and not dreading the same old work out. Occasionally we work out outside for a change of scenery. I love not knowing what I will be doing when I walk in the door, other than sweating! Cathy and Kelsey are the instructors, and they couldn't be any nicer before and after class starts :) During class they are still nice, but they will push you, they will challenge you, and they will keep you safe. I have a back condition that prevents me from certain things, and they are always sure to provide me with an alternative so I still get the workout, but a safe one! When I went on vacation last month, Cathy went so far as to give me a workout I could take with me, along with the equipment I would need! She truly is dedicated to her clients having a healthier life. I can already tell how much stronger I have gotten! The other folks that I am in class with have become friends, and we all encourage each other, and laugh at each other. It makes me happy to walk in the doors of the studio every time. Sometimes it is the little things that count. When we cool down and stretch at the end, the trainer always puts on some modern Christian music, and it really sets me up for a great day. I feel good because I worked out, and I have a few minutes to relax and feel the stretch in all those sore muscles while I enjoy a couple of uplifting songs. Side note: Cathy has purchased some amazing Real Ryder bikes, and she is the only one in the area that has them! I personally prefer bootcamp, mostly because of the time it is offered, but I know a lot of the folks love it. They apparently move really differently from a normal indoor bike.

I enjoyed my time off from the grind by spending time with DEAR friends and Dropping In at a quality CrossFit gym like CrossFit Simplicity. The drop in process was great (and I got a shirt). The owner, Daniel, was professional and helpful. I worked out with the community 4x. This included one 5:30pm, 2 5:30am and one partner WOD. It was a great way to stay on track. The gym is spacious, the equipment organized and clean. The coaches were excellent. There is a shower with towels as well towels for the million burpees we did that week!!!! You know that nervous feeling you get during the partner work out? Not a problem here! My partner was accommodating and supportive of the "Old Man". CrossFit Simplicity is well run gym and very inviting. When I come to visit my friends, knowing CrossFit Simplicity is a 17 min drive from Graham to Burlington, makes visiting a lot more convenient. Let me tell you, I've never tried crossfit before and I was a little bit intimidated by everything at first- like everybody looks so professional, lifts crazy amount of weights, does all different sort of workout, and here I am, little Asian girl who does not know what she's doing haha. Well, don't you worry! Daniel, Maryann and Felicia are the best. They take their time to teach you and make sure you are doing everything right. I am like a crossfit dummy, so everything is still so new to me, but they've been so patient with me and I love the fact that they encourage and motivate everybody like non stop! I've been going to 5:30am class everyday and I absolutely love it. I really love the vibe here- everybody is so friendly, they all work so hard and you know just by looking at them, you want to be like them! Ah, they are just my inspiration!!!
