This is a membership experience as much as it is a restaurant. The architecture and design are divine: floor-to-ceiling wine cases, a beautiful fireplace lounge, and that city-meets-cellar feel with the wine barrel walls. It's the kind of place you actually want to sit in and take in, not rush through. If you're looking for spots worth paying attention to, this is a good one to start with. I'll be back.

She shared the history of the Riedel glassware company and explained how the shape of each of the four glasses changes the aroma and flavor of the same wine. It was fascinating to experience the difference firsthand. Ashley was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly patient with our group, even when we got a little chatty and wandered off topic. She made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. The charcuterie board was more than enough for the two of us, and every wine we sampled, from the bubbles to the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and final bottle of Cabernet, was an excellent selection. This was something completely different from a typical wine tasting, and we really enjoyed it. I already have several friends in mind who I think would love this experience. I hope Willamette Valley Vineyards considers making the Riedel Glassware Experience a regular offering!

Stopped by the Deschutes Brewery Tasting Room for their brewery tour on a weekday! Tour started at…read more4pm, and we were given a choice between four different beers to sip along the way. I opted for the Patagonia Provisions Organic Lager, and it was light and refreshing. Our tour guide was very informative and high energy. You can tell that employees take a lot of pride, especially since they're dubbed co-owners. The tour included a walk through of how beer is made and a peek inside their facilities. I'm not new to beer, so I wasn't sure how much I'd learn; however, my interest was piqued when our tour guide started talking about how sustainable Deschutes' practices are. They even treat their own water! We had some tastes along the way. My only critique is that our tour felt long (~ 2 hours) and there weren't many spots to sit, so be prepared to be on your feet the entire time. My partner and I stopped by the tasting room after - we didn't buy any cans, but enjoyed sampling the latest party bombs on tap. I loved the frozen version too! We left with merch, coupons for their downtown brewpub, and exclusive tour stickers!

It has a great little coffee shop with bake goods they brought in from a local bakery. I found the book I wanted, an iced tea, and a cookie and I was all set. The proprietor asked me about my selection and we talked a bit about it. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be back again.

We came on a night where they had open mic comedy. It wasn't great standup but it was fun, a good community, and I did laugh a little. The food was pretty good. I had the fried chicken which was juicy and really crispy. The greens are really good, fatty, smoky, and tender. The mac and cheese, however, was a disappointment-the sauce was grainy and lacked cheese flavor.

It pains me to say this as I'm a business owner in this industry; I get the stresses that come with the tasks at running a business like this. BUT, they need to make some changes immediately. It was a "comedy" night and the host wasn't just bad at hosting, but obtuse, rude and disrespectful to me, my friend, the music entertainer and the patrons. A hostile and incompetent staff didn't provide any help or follow up. I can't get too into details atm for litigation reasons but like I've said, I've never had any problems in any bars with anyone before or have had such an egregious experience that left me bemused to the point where I felt the need to issue a 1 star experience. You have to really mess up to get a 1 star from me. To the owners: I'll be submitting a formal complaint and seeking financial retribution through the Office of the Oregon Attorney General, a secondary complaint will be filed with the BBB as I won't put up with this dubious behavior from your staff or from anywhere. This behavior is unacceptable, unethical and it ultimately places your patrons and staff at risk of bodily harm or injury. I'm going to get down to the bottom of this civilly, legally and swiftly. Oh and the food; I'm sure it's not bad but full disclosure I didn't have any tonight. BUT HERES MY TAKE: Beer prices were typical. Kids menu was decent but kinda small. The adult food was over priced but what else are you going to eat with no other food options near by. The menu is ok but you'll spend 10 Barrel money; min $17 for a sandwich. If you get a beer too make it $25. If you like tacos you'll spend $16 for x3 shrimp tacos!(Which Im sure are frozen shrimp). Those are typical prices like ten barrel, brother John's, etc. but that's a lot of money for not much of an experience or room to breathe and stretch your legs. I'd rather go to the Cross-Eyed cricket down the road and spend the same amount and have a lot better of a time without feeling claustrophobic, ripped off or threatened. For those first timers; IMO this wasn't built as a restaurant to accommodate an experience for guests. This is a tiny bar and tiny inside sitting area that was made to wrangle people in who are on a tour to make more money off of them. Not provide an experience worth your money. BIG DIFFERENCE. There's basically 8 parking spots I think. So plan on parking on the street. Or across the street. This was built to make beer and then the bar came as an after thought. You could go to Cheba hut on a Monday night or Tuesday night and have a blast with just $25. Again not bad food, just way over priced for the experience. Plenty of other bars/breweries that have an attentive staff who are friendly and have great food/beer options.

Presentation was pleasing to the eye, plenty of cheesy grits but I felt like there could have been a couple more shrimp (maybe that's just me) it's not like they were the jumbo prawns. It was very tasty and the grits were prepared perfectly but I have to say their chiliquiles are so much better. I'm usually much more enthusiastic about my meals I've enjoyed here. I started with a clam chowder, that had just the right consistency with beautiful chunks of perfectly cooked potato and clam. There is absolutely no grit or sand in my clams which was wonderful. The potato had a nice crispy exterior and soft pillowy inside and the vegetables were not overcooked. I do wish that they would've given a large portion for the vegetables, but I can understand them trying to keep the plates looking clean and nice. I'd say if there's one thing that was not good at this restaurant it was the complementary bread. The bread that came out had clearly been smashed down. I'm not sure if the bread came that way, or if maybe someone doesn't know how to cut bread in the kitchen. On top of that, the bread was very plain. For a fancy restaurant like this I expected something a little nicer, maybe even a sourdough. Just go ahead and skip the bread, it's not worth eating when you have so many better things to eat. All in all, I would totally return to this restaurant.

My husband also enjoyed his mahi mahi dish. Cleaned up his plate! Our server Joshua was so attentive and spot on! Though we waited for awhile for our food, we enjoy coming here for meals. The lit up birthday cake and sliced up portions topped the night off! We love coming back. Of course, the view is always spectacular too!
