We ordered the Deep Dish Pizza "Special"....adding meatballs. WOW....DELICIOUS. Good stretchy mozzarella and crust was perfect. We even added scrambled eggs, and had breakfast pizza the next morning. Highly recommend it. read more

Great food and service! Accommodated a party of 20 for lunch easily (I had to call ahead).

We placed an order to be delivered at 630 pm. They told us one hour. After 1 hour and 15 mins, we called and they said it is on the way. The order was two items directly off the menu... no changes. after 1 hour and 45 min it is delivered, ICE COLD. It is to bad Covington cant get a decent restaurant besides Cuccis! read more

On our trip to OBX, NC it was dinner time and I didn't want the usual road side chain restaurant. So we found Trani's. It hit the spot. The kids had spaghetti and I had a meatball sub. The food tasted good. It was good portion sizes and the staff was friendly. It is a sit down restaurant. They come to your table for your order, but pay at the counter. It was still fast enough for a trip stop and everything came out hot out of the oven (hot - but now too hot to eat). There are not a lot of choices for some place to eat while traveling on Rt. 64 on a Sunday at 5 pm especially if allergies further limit your choices. Based on the reviews, I suggested we try Trani's. The exterior and interior decor had me a bit worried but we will definitely stop again the next time we are out this way. I had the grilled shrimp. The menu said "small" shrimp and I had visions of popcorn shrimp. These were nice sized shrimp and were very tasty. I also had the sautéed broccoli which was delicious. My husband had cheese tortellini in a marinara sauce which he said was tasty. The only possible negative was the side salad which was made with Iceberg Lettuce. Since this is a matter of preference I cannot really hold it against them. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

The staff was nice and the decor was new and up to date. The food not up to par in my opinion. Got the bacon cheese fries, the were under cooked, the bread had no flavor,needs olive oil oregano or anything to give some sort of flavor, so we asked for marinara to dip. The place was absolutely packed. Great sign. I got a nice Italian sub. It took a little while for the food to come out, but it was a Saturday night and it was jammed packed. So sometimes when little things happen in a service you have to excuse them when they happen, while being busy small mistakes can happen. I don't want to call out a 1-star review for the place, but maybe if the person who wrote that review had a brain in their head they wouldn't have complained so much. I only see it because it's beside my text box as I'm writing it. What a BS review MW wrote. Get over yourself, the place is packed for a reason. When my food came out, it was huge. The sandwich was just absolutely stacked with deli cuts, clearly fresh and the veggies were crisp and clean. Potato chips side. It was quick service, nice service although I will say I had no idea who my waitress or waiter was, the entire crew was just kind of doing everything. Which is not a bad thing, they were just working together to make everyone happy. Seriously an awesome place to eat in Covington and everyone should go there at least once a month if you live in Covington and if you're passing by, go ahead, stop get a wonderful sammich, meet the wonderful crew, and enjoy your life. There are not many food options in Covington. We stumbled upon this place and loved it. Very unique and their steaks are some of the best I've ever had. The appearance of the restaurant from the outside is a little sketch but don't let that scare you off. Great service and amazing food! read more

If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. Came here for my birthday dinner with my family. The food was overpriced and extremely salty. No flavor to the food other than straight up tomato and SALT. Our server only checked on us once. They had the owner's underage son working in there, that little boy was the only reason we got refills on our drinks. They wouldn't refund a gift certificate my mother bought just before. Salads were sad and dreadful. Owner, Mike, was extremely rude, cocky, unhelpful, and disrespectful. We will never be going back. I would love to see this place shut down. read more

Just ordered a sandwich to go. Waited in the restaurant for 40 minutes before getting the food. People came in, sat down, ordered, got their food and ate before I got my sandwich. When I did get it, EVERYTHING was soggy. It must have sat in the enclosed container for at least 20 minutes. Guess everyone working in there were after tips and ignored the others like me. I am in town for work for a couple of weeks. So, I have been trying all of the local eateries. Trani's is definitely one of the best in town. THEIR RIBEYE IS AMAZING!!!! I am from Los Angeles, I love to eat food, and this is one of the best ribeye's I've had anywhere. I like it medium and Trani himself cooked it to perfection. On top of that a 12oz ribeye for $20 is a steal. OH and the SPINACH!!!! I ordered sautéd spinach with garlic. It was like magic in each bite. WOW. A colleague I worked with this week told me go to Trani's to get the best steak. Well it's my second while in town and it demolished the other steak. She was right. The Thursday all you can eat chicken wings are on point . Although they cost $8.50, once you eat 17 it becomes a good value. Overall, I would recommend only eating here on Thursday, especially if you are immensely hungry. I frequently eat lunch at Trani's when visiting the paper mill Covington. Their approach to food is fresh, hot and homemade. I really like their sandwiches, especially the Philly Cheesesteak. Best kept secret in the county! My husband is from Philly; his cheesesteak hoagie was perfectly "from home". Owner is from central Jersey and knows how to cook! Great prices. Large cheesesteak, great mushroom melt burger, and the best fries ever. They are crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right size. All under 20 bucks. How can you go wrong??
