Visiting out of town and staying at the resort, we decided to get off the property and head to Michael's. Knowing us, we decided to try 5 things on the menu, including the Maisy cheese bread, bacon cheese fries, onion rings, BBQ wings, and our chicken bacon pizza. We ranked these five in the order I just listed. The Maisy cheese bread was massive and so yummy; had to bring leftovers home, which we weren't mad about in the least. The cheesy bacon fries we so good too, definitely filling with bacon and lots of cheese! A super close second! Onion rings were def made with love, and it seemed like they were hand battered in house. They took a little longer than the other items but were definitely worth the wait. Wings were standard bbq wings, nothing to write home about but still good. Lastly, unfortunately for us was the pizza. We both weren't fans of the sauce. Good amount of toppings on the pie tho. Chicken tenders were good but I really loved the fries. My husband had the Special Turnover and said it was fantastic (better than one of our popular places better home). Solid food with great portions, good luck finishing everything. Waitstaff were friendly even as the shop was really busy. Only critique is that the crust was a little floppy, but still better than most places. Recommend for a late bite or a sit down with many bellies to fill. read more

The owner is amazingly friendly and welcoming. He has been a fixture in Covington for years and recently purchased the old Pizza Hut location and has beautifully transformed and restored it. His pizza crust and breadsticks are to die for! Highly recommended! :) read more

Used to go there at least once a week, the last time I went there I walked in to find a customer arguing with some guy working there.....I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with mayo and found it smothered in tomato sauce...... I told the guy I didn't order sauce on my sandwich.. he said sorry , it comes that way , can't help you ...... I said it comes how I order it and I never ordered tomato sauce ...... finally I think it was the owners son , fixed it for me but I haven't been back since .... I looked online at their menu and ordered a Elroy special for $4.05. When I got there I was charged over $7, The owner was called and he was extremely rude. He said he didn't put that up there and he wasn't honoring the price. I explained that it was on his website. He said he didn't care-he was not selling it for that price. My husband and I came to Covington to visit moomaw lake, and upon checking into our hotel, Michael's pizza was recommended to us at the front desk. That evening, tired and hungry, we decided with free delivery, why not! 30 minutes later, we were eating one of the best pizzas we've ever had! The very next evening, we found ourselves wanting to eat at Michael's again, except to dine in this time. The setting is pleasant, and comfortable, and to our amazement, the menu was massive, it's not just a pizza joint folks, though I found the literally, hand tossed dough process to be entertaining! I perfected my order this time, my husband ventured his order, and needless to say, we left satiated (or stuffed rather) with a smile and a waddle out the door, but not without first being asked by each and everyone of the staff if we were satisfied! I hadn't been here in a couple months and before this week my opinion would be 5 stars. After this week that's changed. I went in on Wednesday, waited at least 15 minutes before the server even came out into the dining area. When she did she acknowledged me and another table of two that came in after me. She stated she'd be back as soon as possible. She proceeded to wait on another table of two that had also come in after me. Instead of coming to me or the other table she went back into the kitchen for about 5 more minutes. When she finally came back she went to the other table that had come in after me and instead of coming to me, again went back into the kitchen. Needless to say I left at that point. Tried it again today because the food is really good. Initial service was fast, but when I got my food it was the wrong sandwich. I went ahead and ate it, because they prepare everything fresh and it does take some time to cook, it was okay, but not what I ordered. Server came back one time to check on me. I sat for at least 15 more minutes after finishing my food for the server to come back. She finally did and I was able to ask for my check. If I eat here again it will be carry out and I will definitely make it known if my food is wrong going forward. Very disappointed with the experience! read more
