I visited this salon after seeing it on tik tok. I was drawn to book an appointment because of the aesthetics of the salon, the calm and "tranquil" vibes portrayed, as well as the individual and personalized services depicted in the tik toks. Let me point out that I visited the week of Christmas so maybe that's the reason for the chaos, but this visit was anything but tranquil. The salon was PACKED. People everywhere you turn in every seat, standing in every corner, everyone in everyone's way. I was also bouncing around from person to person. One person washes hair, one person cuts hair, another person blow-drys hair. Did they do a good job with my hair? YES! and that is the reason for my 4 star review, they did a good job and I left very pleased with my haircut and blowout. Was it a personalized and relaxing experience as advertised on tik tok? No, not for me. But again, I visited the week of Christmas so maybe it was just the holiday madness & maybe it's not always so chaotic in there. read more

This place is mediocre. I arrived at 5:10 (before my appointment at 5:30PM) and it was a huge mess. Chaos EVERYWHERE and I got overwhelmed before I even sat down for my mani and pedi. there was barely any place to sit. I get that it's a Saturday and it's busy, but I didn't like the environment. A nice technician did my nails and feet and although she was very sweet and delicate, I didn't like the job. Also, the chairs were uncomfortable and dirty- disgusting in other words. You'd think a salon is meant to be relaxed and have a good time, but with the kids screaming everywhere and so much commotion, I was dying to get out of there. I asked a stylist to blow dry my hair and she said it'll cost me $25 (with wash) and when I got charged, they charged me $30. I know it's not a big deal, but it's courtesy and kind of shady. Parking is also a HUGE HASTLE. Took me 10 minutes to park. The hair stylist did a good job, but nothing out of the ordinary. Other than that, I would NEVER come back. read more

I have had different type of hair treatments with Mary and what I must like about her, is that every time that I go to Tranquility, she has something new. My girlfriend frequented this place in the past. This past week Monday 1/15 she went to her scheduled appointment for 6, now they requested that they see her at 630 instead which she agreed. She then arrived and proceeded to wait an additional 45 minutes with no service , no attendance of any kind so she promptly left. She rescheduled for Thursday 1/18. When she arrived they apologized for the horrendous service and disrespect for her time, at which point they offered her an amazing $3 for her trouble. They seem to think that moving her appointment back 30 minutes and then being over 45 minutes late, effectively wasting almost 90 minutes of her time was well worth $3. Run!!! I got my eyebrows done about 3 years ago in this place and I was botched by one of their Colombian technicians. My eyebrows as you can see in the picture are one you one down she gave me the sad downside frown sad face I've never looked this bad, they charged me twice for a retouched so she can kept trying to fix this thick noodles she did on my face. 3 years later and with the help of laser removal I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. When I say run I mean it! She also did a Botox treatment on my hair which left my hair fried and you may ask why I waited this long to leave this review well I was so upset that I needed time to heal from the trauma of having my face disfigured and my hair totally burned. I'm really upset writing this because I don't usually do bad reviews. But my experience at Tranquility, where I've been a loyal customer for three years for brows and lashes, and more recently hair, has gone downhill. The receptionist always looks miserable, barely greets you, and snaps a lot. My first hair visit with Kimberly was great, so I was excited to go back and try Santi for a simple ash brown and trim, especially after seeing his amazing work online. Big mistake. The cut was a disaster, totally uneven, and the color washed out in three days. When I gave them a second chance to fix it, it ended up even worse, burning my scalp and leaving my roots an awful orange color. I really care about my hair, and this just feels like all my efforts to maintain it were wasted. Santi didn't listen to me at all and was hardly communicative, making it even more frustrating to speak up. Their Instagram is totally misleading. I'm just so disappointed and wish I hadn't trusted them again. I would leave a photo of my hair but I'm honestly embarrassed to do so. The actual place is great and I'm sure it's not all bad, but the front desk needs to go and I personally will not be trusting Santi ever again. read more

Place seemed okay at first. Came in for a blowout.. for starters the woman that washed my hair only shampooed it, was pretty rough and my hair kept getting caught in her nails. The man who dried my hair was pretty terrible. I've got a full head of hair and he dried it in less than 20 minutes by grabbing massive pieces of hair and pulling hard I had to brace my feet to keep from falling over (most of my roots still feel damp) all my roots are frizzy as well).Asked for a straight blow out and got a horrible super curved ends blow. Used no cape, so of course he burned my shoulders. The guys was so bad I didn't even want him to fix it. My tip to him, take some more classes because what he did to me is unacceptable and undeserving of any money. I paid because I don't like drama or conflict but I will never come back. read more

I only had a mani/pedi here. Pros: price is reasonable. Salon seems to keep up w/ mani and pedi disinfecting procedures. Cons: Not the cleanest place. The nail technician although 100 percent nice and caring, did a MAJOR nono on me. I have very tight C curve nails, and on my pedicure, she cut the cuticle and nail all the way back to the end of the nail bed. That is a huge error!! If a technician is going to do something lloke that, she should ask for permission. I'm terrified that my nail is going to get horribly ingrown and painful!! This happened after I specifically asked for barely any trimming of cuticles. That is not okay. Maybe some ppl specifically request for this type of service, but I certainly do not. When they convinced me to re apply the extensions. Now, when you buy the extensions the hair is yours. This people did not put all my extensions in & kept the rest, they didn't even give me the rest of my hair that I bought ! This place is horrible stay FAR AWAY. I have no idea how this place is still open. If I can give 0 stars I would. Also an extension just fell out of my Hair 1 week after they "raised" them. Also, I came to do my nails & the lady did them super bad. Thick and streaky, it looked like a 5 year old did them. Horrible, they didn't last 4 days ( & yes they where gel ) This salon is the worst. I use to LOVE going to this place for my hair and tanning but I have to admit it's gone downhill. They do not clean the tanning beds after each use, which they should. Kind of turned me off. I always come here for my Mani Pedis which have been flawless. They are quick and economical but the technicians work very thoroughly. The results are great and last for a while. A huge plus is that they open Sundays which is great for busy people. I'm very picky with manicures but this is definitely worth going. They also have massage chairs and offer you beverages. They also have great offers for blow drys. I got one for my anniversary and added curls with the flat iron and was very happy with the results. And even happier with my anniversary pictures :). The service is horrible at this establishment. These People know ZIP about Customer Service! First, the scheduling is a MESS! I had an appointment for Mani/Pedi and a Massage scheduled for a Saturday afternoon - which was perfect. They called me that week to tell me that the lady who gave me those appointments didnt know what she was doing and that it had to be changed. The only day they had available that week was Friday at 6pm for the massage. I told her it was going to be hard for me to make it that early since I work all the way in coral gables - but she said it was the only massage appointment she had and that it wasn't a problem. Yeah Right! The day of my appointment It was raining and it took me a little to find the place since i had to circle around more than once. When I got in there it was almost 6:20. Receptionist with Black hair (I think her name was Betty) was very unprofessional and very rude. She flat out told me very abruptly that I was late and that my massage would be cut in half because the next client would be there on time (i guess she is psychic). I told her that I had talked to someone about this over the phone about me getting here a little later because I get out of work at 5:30 and I work in the Gables. She didn't care and claims she doesn't know who would tell me that. Horrible person to have as the first contact with your customers. There are MUCH nicer ways to say things. At the end of the 35 min massage I went to the back to change and had to make a phone call. It was about 7:15 when i went downstairs to leave, and no one was there waiting yet. The girl that had been doing my massage was just sitting there with the Rude woman in the front wasting time. I was very annoyed. As far as the Mani/Pedi appointment, it was mediocre at best, but the lady was super nice... (which is clearly a lot to ask for around here so I'll take it!!). However, she did a less than good job. I'm still not sure if my nails are square or round. She didn't put lotion on my hands or feet so when i left the bottom part of my legs were very itchy. Over all what got me was the demeanor of the girl that was at the front desk . She was so unbelievably rude. She has no intentions of providing a pleasant experience or good customer service and should not be working at a SPA. I've been coming to this place for about two years now, and I really used to enjoy it. I really didn't want to write this review, but felt it was necessary. My mother bought me a groupon for my birthday two years ago and we were hooked. We would come about once a month because the owner gave my mom and I the groupon price, because with groupon they make next to nothing. The owner USED to be really nice, would give me a hug and kiss when my mom and I would come in, and offer us all kinds of drinks. This is where it makes a turn for the worst. They have this little machine that you check in and get points with. With those points you get free stuff. I went in with my moms points to redeem a free mani/pedi and tan session. My mom even called and they said it was okay. When I arrived they told me I couldn't use the mani/pedi, but I used the tanning. When I asked the girl how much the m/p would be she told me 30, but would give it to me for 20. So I went and did my nails and everything was dandy. Then I went for my tanning session. The owner offered me tanning lotion for the tanning bed. When I finished and went to go pay, the owner charged me for tanning lotion 30 for the mani/pedi. Are you freaking kidding me?! I've been coming here for a while and had a good relationship with this woman. When I told my mom what had happened, she went and confronted the owner on her next visit. The owner ignored my moms complains and stormed off and said loudly " I need to get rid of this stupid machine" while she was in the middle of her sentence to go answer the phone and ignored my mother the to rest of the time she was there. After this incident, we've decided to take our money elsewhere to a better spa. Customer service is very important to me, as I am in the hospitality business myself, and I feel like this situation was handled poorly. If a business is offering points to redeem for free things, it's only right that they honor them. They were just being cheap and didn't want to lose out on money. This was a Groupon Special: Massage, Steam bath, mani-pedicure. This Spa is in a shopping strip that somewhat resembles a condominium community. I wasn't sure I would get the Spa Experience when I first arrived in the parking lot. But with an open mind and a tensed back, I decided to go in and was met with delight! I must say the "Quiet Please" sign at the door gave me much relief (I love a serene spa experience). This is a two level Spa with all the services nicely compartmentalized. The lobby is small but with very tall ceilings and decorated with warm wood accents and fresh white paint to offset the muted spa decor such as candles, serenity goddesses, etc. On one side of the quaint lobby is one beautician's station for hair services and behind it, separated by a privacy wall are the two nail care stations. Behind the lobby is the steam and scrub room. Basically it is a room the size of a bedroom where one person is serviced at a time. You strip, are given a disposable pantie, and sent into the private steam room where once all moistened up you scrub yourself and exfoliate with a deliciously creamy and scented scrub. After your indulgence with steam and cream you are given a bathrobe, towel and flip flops and you enter your private bathing room where you take a quick and refreshing shower. From there you go to your massage room. I have had many many massages and I must say this one was extra special. It was very varied and thorough. No shortcuts. The therapist, Juanza was extremely detailed and professional. The massage room is on the second floor. It is a bit small but once you begin your massage you are gently transported to the ends of infinity with such indulgent relaxation that the size of the room doesn't matter at all. I had a fall and tensed up my back. It had been aching for weeks, after the massage NO pain what so ever. After the massage you are taken to the mani-pedi section and you receive your mani and pedi. The stations are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. I was very impressed (and relieved) to see such care given to the cleaning of the stations. I have never seen such detail to cleanliness before and I have been in this business so I know when its done correctly. Two technicians each take one person at a time. They work on a structured timetable, it almost seems as if they are choreographed to work in unison but they do a good job. This makes it extra nice. Low noise and distraction since only two clients are taken into the room. The prices are very reasonable. There is a mandatory tip for the purchase price which is shared by all staff that saw you. I made it a point to give an additional amount to the massage therapist since she was so good. Suggestions: Be on time, they are punctual. Ask for Juanza for the massage. Turn off your cellphone (not on vibrate) you deserve the full experience. Be considerate and don't turn on the cellphone until you leave the spa entirely (including the mani/pedi section). Enjoy the experience and let others enjoy it too. Plan on being pampered for about 3 hours. DON'T take children or your significant other unless they are having service too. This is not a place for chatter or people to be waiting while you are receiving any of their services. Recommendations: Tip generously. Provide comments/feedback to cashier and she will make a note on your file regarding the attention you received so that the staff will receive feedback accordingly. read more

My boyfriend bought his mother and I a package that included the following: 1/2 hr massage - The massage was okay, it was relaxing but it didn't really get all my knots out, and I have done 30 minute to 50 minute massages before and this just left me still a little sore in the neck, I actually left this day with a bigger migraine than when I went in. I really tried to like it because everyone is very nice, but the massage was just Okay. At the end she left the blanket on you and rubbed over the blanket, I have never had this technique before and really didn't care for it. 1/2 hr body wrap - I had the body wrap which I absolutely loved! It's relaxing in a dark room with music while you are wrapped up like a tamale. They put some lotions on you and you sweat out everything. The girl was very nice, and comes in to check on you. Afterward, you can take a quick cold shower to relax you even more. -- My mother in-law went in the steam room because they didn't have two body wraps at the same time and we wanted to go at the same time. The steam room, isn't really a room, but a small little machine like room inside the room, so while I was getting my body-wrap she was literally two steps away in the little steam "room". She loved it, but personally I wouldn't be able to handle it because it isn't in a big room and I get claustrophobic so this is bad for anyone who doesn't like to be confined in a small space. 1/2 hr facial - The facial wasn't really a facial but more like a massage for the face. I wasn't complaining although I REALLY could of used a facial. It was very relaxing and you left with your skin super soft. Eyebrow Wax - This was okay, she left some hairs saying that she left them cus I had an empty spot there, she used some kind of stencil which I really didn't like and then she colored them in with some type of pencil. It was okay but I WOULDN'T pay I think it's about $20 normally for a wax. Mani & Pedi - The girl was super nice, but the manicure was just Okay. I had a few more cuticles she could have cut, and there wasn't many color selections. She only had 2 dark colors and the rest were for french, which cost an extra $5 if you wanted french. The Pedi was okay too, I needed a bit more scrubbing on the bottom, I left with my feet still a little dry when you should leave with them super soft. Our package came with a Tan - both my mother in-law and I don't care for the tan and when we first went the Owner offered us to change it for the Steam packages we used. Well last Saturday we reminded her since that was the only thing left on the package. I told her I would do the Body Wrap but she proceeded to say that she meant we can exchange it for the Steam Room only. I explained I am claustrophobic and I understood that we can exchange it for what we had done. I had done the body wrap and my mother in-law the steam room. NO, ONLY THE Steam Room. So even after I told her I couldn't do the steam room, she didn't offer to do anything else. My mother in-law asked if the Body Wrap was more expensive and that was why I couldn't do it, and she just said it was the same price but they only exchange it for the steam room. So if someone like me is claustrophobic you are pretty much screwed. I was very upset that she didn't try accommodating me with anything else, I really didn't fight it because the spa is nice and clean inside all the girls are nice but honestly it wasn't the Spa experience I had expected. We also couldn't just have a ONE Day do everything on the same day spa experience with the package we had to go back each time and do one thing at a time which was very inconvenient. The location is in Doral; however, it's off of NW 41 Street and in a hidden spot (from the outside the location looks more like an office establishment than a spa). This is one of the reasons I found out the spa offers promotions and packages to the spa; to get more visibility. Once you enter, the location begins to resemble more of the spa feel with candles, aromatherapy, and fountains with an Asian theme. Juliette, the nail tech was extremely friendly and accommodating. The pedicure is done on a spa chair; on a very comfortable and massaging chair. Juliette ensured I was comfortable at all times and that I enjoyed my experience. The mani was your basic manicure; in a regular chair; however, nice nonetheless. A lady, who appeared to be the owner, was also very accommodating and friendly. Like some others, I bought three Groupons to Tranquility and got a total of three massages. All three lasted quite a bit less than the advertised 1 hour time. I understand that a "1 hour massage" usually is only 50-55 minutes due to the time it takes to dress/undress etc, but these sessions generally only had 40-45 minutes of actual massage time. I think they sold a lot more Groupon than anticipated and ended up slacking a bit since there was no new money to be made. It's a shame because I don't think I'll be returning. Note: If you're a regular non-Groupon customer, things might be different. I'm just relaying the Groupon experience. In terms of quality, the massages actually weren't bad at all. read more

I received a promotional package as a gift so I tried this place out a few times, but I was not greatly impressed. The package included a manicure, pedicure, body wrap, facial, and a 30-minute massage. Scheduling appointments was always much more work than I cared to put in. Although the package and the sign outside say they are open until 8:00 P.M., their appointments seem to only be until about 5 or 6 P.M. Out of the 5 services on the package I was only able to do 3 due to their lack of appointments and mediocre services. I first went for the manicure. Of course, they asked me a few times if I wanted the pedicure. I thought the manicure was a decent job, although nothing extraordinary. Maybe I should not have told them to cut my cuticles; I regretted it when my skin was peeling days later. I went the following week for the facial. Again, they tried to sell me a more expensive service. However, I chose to stay with the facial that was included in the package. I did not think the service was good during this visit since I did not receive a skin analysis like the package stated, unless being told that I really needed a more expensive facial is the analysis. The following week I went back for the 30-minute massage. This time I did not feel like they were pushing me to get the full hour although they did offer it. I thought the person that gave me the massage was great. She was very attentive. She asked before beginning if I had any health issues and told me to let her know if I felt uncomfortable at any time. The massage was very good. I thought she concentrated on areas I needed most. She was also very careful taking me back downstairs making sure that I was safe. After the massage, I asked her about the questions she had asked about the beginning and she explained why it was necessary for her to ask such things. I was pleased with her answering my questions. However, again the package stated that massage benefits would be discussed and I was not given any information. Although I scheduled a pedicure for a couple of days later, I decided against taking the long drive. I would have wanted to do the body wrap treatment, but they only had appointments until 4 P.M., which is inaccessible for me. I am not planning on returning. read more
