When i first scheduled my appointment, they canceled me last minute and had me come in with someone else instead of who i asked for. i told her i wanted blond highlights and left with different tones of orange highlights all around my hair. i understand that my hair is dark and that it takes a little longer to get to blond but leaving a salon with orange tones instead of some type of blond highlights is insane. Not only that but my hair did not feel healthy when i left. My hair was very very frizzy with really damaged ends i eventually went elsewhere to get my hair done right and corrected since these people can't do it. I have been going to tranquility for the past 4 years specially to get my brows done by Emily Weston and I cannot put into words just how much I recommend her. I have a wax pass at European wax center that I have not touched since coming to Emily. She completely transformed my brows from sisters to twins. The atmosphere she has created is so welcoming I look forward to every brow appointment. She's a professional, she asks what you want and delivers it flawlessly. My first and second visits to this salon were great. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. Ashlee the stylist is very sweet and nice. Full disclosure I had some fraud on my checking account and did not realize my account was closed when I wrote a check. I had them charge my card a couple of weeks later. When it came time for my appt they had removed my appt. Another instance they informed me that they had to move clients around for Ashlee would I mind another stylist I agreed because I was going out of town. When I arrived at the salon Ashlee said why did you not come to me o said they told me you were booked. It was very awkward. Way to much drama and not interested in coming back . Leaving this review for the esthetician, Julianna. She is amazing I was about 37-38 weeks pregnant getting my first Brazilian wax and she made me feel so comfortable. She was very patient with me as I tried to get into a comfortable position being so pregnant, she was gentle when she had to pull and very thorough in making sure she left nothing behind. 10/10 I definitely recommend to all my friends to book with her! Don't Believe Them UPDATE People I am sure there are great stylists other than the one who worked on me but I blame the manager. The manager has lied about my report to her regarding my experience, she was working at the station behind me and she asked the stylist whats wrong she (the manager) turned to look at the mess that was made, the stylist told her "she (meaning me) is saying the color is too dark" meaning my touch up base. The manager had the indecency to say to me "well in my opinion it looks good to me". I did not pay to be lied to or get an opinion from someone who is not being accountable for her stylist inexperience. I told the stylist my hairdresser was sick and leaving town back to Mexico due to the privacy I upheld for my stylist of over 8 years. Well apparently they know each other so out of no where my stylist will not fix the mess I was left with and because I went to Tranquility now my stylist will not work with me anymore "WHAT THE HELL". This entire experience has been a living nightmare, my hair looks bad, I paid for a horrible experience and lost my long term stylist because they are friends. People ....the only reason I took a chance to have Tranquility provide a service for a touch up (which was terrifying for me) was due to a work meeting I am hosting soon and my stylist feel ill and I was waiting for her to feel better. What a mistake and nightmare on every level. I thought I was being careful in choosing a back up solution and I thought I was being a caring client to my long term stylist, I was wrong on all counts. I have been getting my hair done by Chelsea for years now and she's truly the best. Always does a great job and gives me exactly what I'm looking for! Extremely friendly and makes sitting in the salon chair such an enjoyable experience! I live in Marina Del Rey so occasionally I will try local salons just to save myself some time, and have yet to find anyone local who can give me exactly what I want, not to mention every salon down here is WAY more expensive than what I pay at Tranquility, and for not nearly the same amazing quality! I saw Julianna for a facial a couple weeks ago and she was AMAZING. I have had many facials before and am always looking for instant gratification (I know sometimes it takes time with these treatments) but I had radiant skin in a couple days after her very relaxing facial. Typically I have minor blemishes and skin discoloration, Julianna did a light peel and I am already seeing fading on the discoloration! Super happy, thank you Julianna! This salon is gorgeous. And the staff are super friendly. I think chandler just found my new colour! I was lucky enough to get in the same day I called! The first time was pretty good. I have blonde hair, very light. And what I wanted was t what I got at all. Both times toner was absent "in spots"... this past time I didn't get what I wanted at all, I whatevs a t18 white blonde with a silver hue .. here are some pics from the next day of me finding out the entire of my bottom of my head not toned... and other spots!!! On yelp it says the hours are 8 AM that is not correct. Then you go to the establishment and it says 830. That is also not correct. I sat here waiting for 45 minutes giving them extra time to show up thinking maybe they were late they never showed up I finally called at 8:45 and the lady says oh yeah we're in the process of changing our hours so that's not correct. Charging extra to blow dry hair after highlights is insane. How am I supposed to know whether or not I like the color if you won't dry it? That should be part of the service. This is unheard of, even in super high end LA & Orange County salons. Tranquility - you are in the VALLEY - please take a seat. Also, the stylist who did my highlights left "tiger stripes" in the very FRONT of my blonde hair, and either talked about herself or just spaced out - no interest in the client. This review is for Emily and Julianna. Emily is amazing at waxing and shaping eyebrows. In 6 months she has helped me regrow my eyebrows due to them being over waxed. She has a very sweet and calm personality where you never will feel rushed or unhappy when you leave. I had a facial with Julianna this morning, and it was the best. I had a pumpkin mask and a hydrating mask put on that smells exactly like marshmallows. Her skincare products that she uses are perfect for someone with sensitive skin like I have. She is such a positive and professional esthetician, and I think the salon is very lucky to have her. I am very pleased about how much better the waxing and facial services have improved. After reading the reviews on Yelp and needing a quick fix for my bushy hair, I came here and had someone random appointed to me-Cassi. It was funny because while I was seated waiting for her, I saw a stylist and wished that would be Cassi because she was the most stylish, gorgeous woman ever. That ended up being Cassi!! She was very sweet from the start and understanding about the condition of my hair-which was not okay with normal beauty standards. I have a tendency to randomly cut my own split ends and trim my own bangs and recently-even my sideburns-which are making them grow out horrifically. My last three haircuts done from a salon were done in a blunt, long layer fashion, so that I had no hair layers. I was finally ready to have layers in my hair, and Cassi cut them in a great way. Luckily it was quick, because I had to rush off to another appointment. One lamentable note-I had wanted my hair brown-dark brown-so that it was obviously brown, not black. We dyed it and it turned out-black. Absolutely black. I don't know if I can blame her, however, since the hair dyes don't lie (I don't think she would have purposely chosen black hair dye) and my hair is pretty fine/thin to begin with. When I go back, I will probably ask for a lighter brown to get the dark brown that I want. Anyways, Cassi is amazing and I most definitely recommend that you try her, especially if you're an Americanized Korean like I am and want a change from your typical Korean hair salons. Also-I gave her a huge tip but it was weird how they added it to the total bill instead; I sincerely hope that she walked away with the tip and not the store owner! read more

So my first experience at Tranquility was 3 days ago... and at first I was not impressed. However, I returned back today after the salon owners reached out to me regarding my recent visit. I am glad I went back in today and I do believe it may have just been an off day my first visit. I was greeted, offered beverages and even brought in earlier than my scheduled appointment. Laura and Lahoma did my hair and they did a great job, they kept me laughing and lively despite my long day. Going from red to blonde is not an easy task but they managed to get my hair birthday ready and complimented the color with a nice fresh cut. Getting your hair done requires great communication and a relationship with your stylist. Tranquility made me feel comfortable and I'm looking forward to going back and hopefully building a relationship with them and the other stylists there!
