Tranquility is a wonderful salon in Valencia! The people who work there are warm and accomodating and the stylists know what they're doing! Lahoma, my stylist, has a special gift for utilizing color in a way that makes my hair look it's absolute best. I love the compliments I get and I love feeling beautiful whenever I walk out of Tranquility. Add to that her kindness in accomodating both my schedule and that of my daughter (who flies out from DC to get her hair needs here). Even my husband goes to Tranquility for his hair! The woman working behind the counter and one of the hair stylists are walking around with their masks around their chins. Multiple workers have masks below their nose. Multiple customers are wearing their masks below their noses and two not wearing masks at all. It violates the current Covid mandates in Los Angeles county. It is not safe for folks that are immunocompromised. *edited* what I didn't mention was that the person that cuts my mothers hair was one of the people wearing her mask incorrectly. When I brought up all the other people that were wearing their masks incorrectly she stated all she could do was ask folks to comply. Other than that there is nothing y'all can do. Which is incorrect. Your staff, including the front desk person that removed her mask for EVERY phone call, could all wear their masks correctly like is required by law. Then the staff could ensure that all of the clients also wear their masks correctly instead of under their chins or not at all like the client that was at the hair washing station. Y'all stated on YELP that you are adhering to Covid standards and that is categorically untrue. It is not safe for immunocompromised people to be in your salon. read more

I went to Gina to get help with clearing my skin, which is something I struggled with for very long. She has only seen me twice and I see a huge difference in my skin. We LOVE this place. It's been a little hard finding the RIGHT hair place for me but ESPECIALLY for my husband. His hair can be a little challenging to cut and ONLY at Tranquility have they been able to give him the perfect cut. Shoutout to Kaylie and Chandler who have been so awesome and talented. I am not one to write a review but after spending $180 (thats including my $20cash tip) on a basic root color and haircut I have to say something. I went in to see Chelsea who I have seen once before for a basic haircut. Its unfortunate after only a week after coloring my hair (which is basically almost black) and only 2 washes all my white hair on my left side of my head is showing. The whole experience was not what I expected especially paying almost $200. While I was letting the color process I notice how much color was all on my forehead, which I figured she would mostly clean off once she washes my hair, nope she didn't, left the salon with spots all over my forehead. Than she told me we would let the color process for 30minutes. She finish applying the color at 11:15am and washed my hair by 11:35am. Mind you my appointment was at 11am and I didn't sit in the chair until about 11:05am and we talked about what we should do to my hair for at least 5 minutes. When I showed her a picture of how I want to have my hair cut in layers she's like well we can do front layers. I agree since she is the stylist but you would think since I'm paying she would do what the client ask but that didn't matter. Oh and when she washed my hair the water was so hot and not once did she ask if the water was okay. She told me she would only cut about 1 1/2 inches and instead she took off more than 3 inches off my length. She seem like she was more in a hurry to get me in and out because she was done with my color and cut before 12pm. I wanted to write this review so thats other people don't have to go through this experience and waste their money. read more

Really great experience here! My hairdresser was on time and very easy to talk to. She worked efficiently and seemed very experienced. The salon has a really nice, clean, well-decorated interior. It's also conveniently located next to Stone Fire Grill, so I picked up lunch after my hair cut. For your first time you get 20% off, so my cut was only $40! Despite what the owner responded to my review, everything I said was accurate and here I am now 4 months in STILL dealing with my damaged hair! By pass this salon it's not even worth it!!!! Worst experience EVER!!!!! I had a very dark brown hair color in my hair looking to go a tad bit lighter with some highlights. My hair was totally FRIED and looks so brassy. I am very disappointed for what I paid. I have been to many salons and NEVERRRRR has my hair been this damaged. There are a ton of ladies who work there I had Chelsea and was not pleased at all!!!! Will never come back again and now I am stuck dealing with repairing my hair for months ahead. I wanted to call and complain about my hair but figure why even bother. I am so happy with this salon and the way my hair looks and feels after I get pampered! Lahoma also colors and styles my daughters hair. DON'T DO IT!!! I am shocked how BAD my haircut is. When i walked in I was ignored by the girl texting on her blackberry. I had my nails done first by Cynthia, she was amazing. Next was on to my haircut. I had brought in two pictures, I have very thick hair and it needs to thinned out. When he, Dakota, handed me the mirror to see what I thought, I honestly thought he was only half way done! I asked him to please thin it out, which he had not done at all and proceeded to grab chunks of my hair and chop lumps out until I could not take it anymore. (while he was doing this, a bunch of my hair was still stuck in the thinning scissors so it wasn't even cutting anymore, just pulling) I have never wanted to cry over hair before but, today I wanted to. Nobody but Cynthia (Esthetician) was friendly. Having a name like Tranquility is an obvious joke to me. I will never return here. The one star is for Cynthia. read more

It is a well known fact that I am seriously picky about who I let cut and color my hair. It is also a well known fact that I do not go to the salon as often as I should. Therefore , I often have two inches of dark, mousey, dishwater blonde roots on the top of my head which looks like I am wearing a small, ugly colored, ill-fitting beanie...or a large, ugly colored, ill-fitting yarmulke. True to form, my beanie/yarmulke had gotten completely out of hand...I looked in the mirror and realized that I had become Yentl. I had to do something immediately. It was either grow some peyos or go see Amanda Hudson at Tranquility...as curls just aren't my thing, and I chose the latter. Amanda was able to deal with my emergent hair situation quickly and painlessly. As fast as you can say "Papa can you hear me" I had been transformed from Yentl to Valencia blonde. Amanda is truly amazing and I am always so very happy with my tresses after she has worked her hair magic. I know that I old habits die hard, and I will undoubtedly grow my beanie/yarmulke again. Luckily I know Amanda is there to make my hair look beautiful. read more

I've had two haircuts with Ashtyn - both were great! I felt like she really took her time and really cared about her work. The last two times I went, I booked appointments with Chelsea. First time was for balayage - it took her less than an hour to do (which is fine - I just expected it to be a longer process), and I liked the result. A few weeks later, I came back for a hair cut. While I only asked for a trim (and touch up for my layers), I was in and out in 30 minutes. I'm not against a quick haircut, but I felt like she really rushed me and did not care about what she doing to my hair. It looked fine after she blow-dried and styled it, but it did not look fine after I washed and brushed my hair out. The layers were so obviously choppy, and I had to go to a different salon to get it fixed. Seriously a waste of my money! I realized this second time around that I was just being rushed both times. I don't usually write reviews but this really was not a pleasant experience, and I doubt I'll be back. read more

Dana is awesome! She gave me a body wave a week ago and due to an ombré I had gotten done prior, the ends got very dry--once I tried washing and fixing my hair myself a few days later. I called her to let her know and she immediately scheduled a second appointment with me. I was there today and she conditioned, trimmed and styled my hair with no further charges and it looks more healthier and fuller! Amazingly clean, nice, well-kept, fun spa! I've been here to get my hair cut and colored and for waxing. Heather is awesome at waxing! I highly suggest seeing her for any waxing, though I've just gotten brows, I know some of my friends who go to her for everything and have never been sad! She is great at shaping brows, uses great, high-quality wax and is very gentle! The prices are reasonable for a spa and everyone is super nice! I have naturally dark brown hair and have been dying it blonde for 4 years now. I have definitely had experiences from bad to "okay" with some stylists... Shelby is so sweet and does a great job. I have wild curly hair, and she manages it well! I've also gotten a spray tan from one of the gals there, while she was very friendly, I was very worried about it being uneven. Well, after 8 hours, I took a quick shower, and yes it was uneven. So I came back and a different girl helped me out by spraying over my back again. Overall, it was a good experience, I'm just glad I got the tan done the day before my trip in the a.m, it gave me enough time to come back to get it fixed. read more

Colleen was amazing! I kept having the worst experiences with hair dressers where they kept turning my hair a reddish brown and not covering up my (increasing amounts of grey)! I was so frustrated and tired of seeing the bills grow every time! I had almost given up, but I had a video event coming up so I knew I had to do something. I went to see Colleen, and she took care of everything like a pro!!! She was quick and the results were amazing! The grey was gone, the brown was not red, and she threw in a couple of highlights so it blended into my hair. I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours and it was affordable. I was so impressed!!!
