You can sit in silence the whole time or connect your bluetooth and play whatever you like. I love spas that honor noise levels and protect the clients' peace. They offer many services to choose from. You can take a cold plunge, sweat it out, get a massage, or float in a tank. Whatever you like and there's so much more. Be sure to check out their website. Very happy with my recent service there! I had the Wellness Day with Xylia. She has angelic hands, and was able to pinpoint and soothe areas of concern easily. The atmosphere in the room felt custom and relaxing. I like their choice of background music too. Not too loud or obnoxious, just a soft Tibetan singing bowl sound. The front desk attendant was very nice too! She kindly guided me around the spa. The Wellness day also includes the sauna, float tank, and in my case the compression therapy. The float tank was so cool, I think everyone should try it at least once. For my session, they gave me a robe and really cushy slippers to wear. I NEED those slippers in my life, if you guys find out where they are from please send the info my way lol Word of advice, if you book the services online using someone else's card, you will have to pay again once you get there. A nice quiet building near downtown. Serene music plays in the background, and there is a tranquil persevere that can be felt upon arrival.  The owners and therapists were every so welcoming. Small business, even offers free classes. We did the professional massage for 60 Minutes & Float. One of only three places in the city that do the Float, and it was an enlightening experience.  One of the therapists fixed some circulation problems one of us had been having for years! Miracle worker? I only remember my massage therapist's name, Kaelan. And he was great. Attentive, listened to what I looked and filled up on it without having to be asked. If only my fantasy boyfriend or any guy I dated was this intuitive. (Don't tell!)  Not quite a five star because this was honestly my first professional massage and am therefore forced to trust other's opinions whom have been to multiple massage therapists. There are some other massage parlors that might offer better massages and techniques (according to members in our party).  I liked that they offer free Yoga at different times. Coffee and tea available. Also given cozy robes and individualized rooms. I actually visited Transcend in late January, but forgot to post my review! So I am a mobility impaired person who does not use any DME(yet), and I had a lovely time for my birthday spa afternoon at Transcend with only a couple isolated (and very particular to me) issues. I googled around A LOT and picked Transcend over other places because they were upfront about pricing, and they also offer massage and a bunch of other services so my birthday pampering could be a whole thing in one place. I interrogated the dude I scheduled over the phone with pretty thoroughly, especially about floating, and I felt good about making the reservation. Xylia gave me a really great massage. I only get massage a couple times a year, but I've tried a fair number of places. Xylia had a couple techniques up her sleeve I hadn't had before, and also was just inviting and kind. My infrared sauna session was next, and it's very private and comfy. While I'd never done an infrared, this was not my first rodeo with saunas in general, and I thought of it as my quiet meditative half-time moment. The last session was my float, which I've thought about trying for a while. I knew it would be a tricky situation because I'm 4'6", don't have a ton of range of motion in one of my arms, and also my knees don't bend. I forgot to get her name, but Manager-Person with shoulder length brown curly hair really went soooo beyond accommodating me. She showed me the pod before my sauna and let me ask questions and "test" some aspects so I had better idea what I was getting into for when the time came. It was really nice in the pod. They'll leave a nightlight on for you if you want, but I forewent that for the pure silent darkness, and I have no regrets. There's a lot more space than I expected, so super-short me was able to kinda play, fully rotate, and move purposefully while still floating! But also when I felt like it just drift, meditate, and let the water hold me. My 6ft spouse probably could fully stretch out like the DaVinci guy if they wanted to! The only issues I ran into were around the float, because I'm disabled, and I don't wanna put anyone off, I just wanna share my experience for the benefit of other curious disabled folks trying to decide if floating would be a manageable, enjoyable experience for them. The massage and sauna and the staff were all amazing! But it was tough to get into the pod, because the opening is from the angled top-ish like a human-sized tilted porthole versus opening from the side like a lamborghini like I imagined? And it's soooo SLIPPERY in there, it felt like a splash town ride for a sec which was actually fun for me, but I think it very much startled Curly-Manager-Person (I'm so sorry!). When it was time to get out, CMP had regrouped, brought in Dark-Haired-Colleague, and between the three of us, we got me out. A BIGGGGGG thing that would've helped is a textured spot on the floor and the wall near the entrance to get some traction off of, and maybe some foam(or something like) patches around the outside of the entrance to use as "push off's" that aren't as slippy, so it's more easy to place elbows then use the bars already in place (which I could not have done without). If you've made it this far, please know I really had a great time, and anything that leans negative is just me trying to keep an eye for for my fellow folk. The staff was really truly great. If you're honest with them ~and yourself~ about any limitations and assistance needs you have, they'll be super professional, informative, and accommodating(as is reasonably possible!) from the moment you come through the door. read more

I've only been to 2 yoga studios in SA and Transcend is definitely my favorite. I initially discovered this yoga studio through Groupon because they had a great deal. I've been attending classes almost every week since December 2017 and I've been consistently coming back! All of the classes cater to beginners so don't be afraid to give it a shot! Everyone here is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable and classes are never boring. I usually attend Samantha's classes on Mon/Wed since she's my favorite. Another plus is that the classes work around my schedule (the evening classes usually start at 6:00 PM, but they also offer day classes) so I come by right after work. Yoga is typically pretty pricey but the rates at Transcend are super affordable compared to most yoga studios. After I purchased their Groupon and used up all my classes, I was hooked. One of their standard rates is $55 for 10 classes! I don't think it can get better than that. PRO TIPS: 1) Highly recommend coming at least 15-20 minutes early because parking is limited. You can also park at Five Points Local which is right next door. 2) Download the MINDBODY app to sign up for your classes in advance. read more

Besides the Float Spa, they also do massage and have an active and growing Yoga community. Their facility is in a growing area near the Cove and San Antonio College, and is worth the small hunt to find it on your first Visit. The Staff is great, the Space is Fantastic and Uniquely industrial/inviting, and their teachers are bright and varied in their styles. The only thing that is a little hard here is parking, but they are making up some signs to let people know they have a contract with the next door businesses so no problem! The Float: They have 2 tanks, and the prices on Sunday are pretty awesome ($35/60 minutes). I have always wanted to float and this was a great opportunity for me to test it out affordably! The facilities are clean and nice, and the float was AWESOME. It relaxed me, let me dive deep into some thoughts and meditation, and was such a great and unique experience. The Owner Selena gave me some tips to look-into online to maximize my relaxation or problem solving while in the tank, and i look forward to going again! You are weightless, relaxed, and the water/air is the same temperature so you feel like you are floating! Try it, you'll love it. The Yoga: I was lucky enough to snag their Groupon, but when I asked about their pricing for yoga classes they were a lot more affordable than I'm used to. I think drop-ins are $10, and their 20 class pass is the price of a lot of studios 10 class pass. The classes I've been to so far are geared for a beginner like me, all the way up to folks doing headstands, and I'm excited to continue my practice at a studio I can afford to be apart of! They DO have mats to borrow, and they have a nice Lobby space in case you are there too early. Try it out, and snag a Power Flow or Slow Flow class if you can! In short? Had a fantastic opportunity to try a float and the infrared sauna. Both really compliment each other very well when done together. Float was fantastic, being 6'2 I was worried it would feel tight in there but there was plenty of space for me to be fully stretched out with room to spare. You have the room and a shower all to yourself and it was a very relaxing and calming experience. The infrared sauna was pretty great as well. You have the option to adjust some of the heat setting and have the room and sauna to yourself. The folks there are very friendly and walked me thru the whole process which was great. This was a perfect way to start 2020 off for some wellness. Can't wait to do that again and checkout some of their other services. read more

Great experience! This was my second float but first time with Transcend. I actually fell asleep this time, was able to get out of my head. The ambiance is great. The tank was a little more difficult to sit and pull down lid & was a little creepier to me, lol, but that didn't affect the overall experience. Shower after in the same room & get dressed, only suggestion I can make is take loose clothes bc the humidity in the room made it difficult to dry off and get dressed.
