I am writing to expose a profound failure in clinical communication, administrative competence, and…read moreprofessional ethics within Dr. Ley's practice. What began as administrative incompetence escalated into severe clinical negligence with permanent physical consequences. The disorganization was evident from day one. During my first visit last year, the office was in chaos due to an EHR system transition and a total lack of internet. The doctor had no clinical documentation or information about me, working entirely from memory after previously reviewing my scans. Following that visit, the staff emailed me almost exclusively for six months. Out of nowhere, they stopped using email and mandated a patient portal, yet never indicated a portal existed or provided credentials. Instead, they randomly called during my patient care hours. As a healthcare provider, I informed them I am with patients back-to-back and cannot interrupt active trauma therapy sessions. I offered them access to my calendar and explicitly offered to move my own patients to speak with the doctor at her convenience. My professional, flexible requests were completely ignored. In January, prior to my surgery, the office fraudulently billed my insurance for an office visit that supposedly took place on a Sunday--a day no visit occurred. While they struggled to coordinate actual patient care, they repeatedly sent me past-due bills demanding my portion of the payment for this fictitious Sunday visit. It took months of back-and-forth and insurance company intervention to force them to void the charge. I met with Dr. Ley for only the second time on the morning of my surgery. Upon arrival, I first learned of a traumatic surgical setup at TMC: my husband of almost three decades was barred from being with me beforehand until the team started my IV, and barred from seeing me at all after surgery until he brought the car to the curb. If Dr. Ley had notified me of these rigid guidelines beforehand, I would have refused surgery there and sought care elsewhere. (I am dealing with TMC directly on these systemic failures.) After surgery, I never saw or heard from Dr. Ley again, except for a brief, 16-second voicemail stating my cancer was "fixable." The office then scheduled a post-surgical follow-up without ever notifying me via email, text, or phone. When I did not show up to a time I was never told about, they left an angry voicemail accusing me of missing the appointment. If I had been notified, I would have willingly made the 90-minute drive each way. The most critical failure occurred 20 days post-surgery. Dr. Ley was officially notified by TMC that the Mayo Clinic corrected my diagnosis, confirming it was completely wrong. I have the documentation of this notification in hand. She never notified me. This was an urgent matter. They easily could have sent an urgent email or text instructing me to check my account. Dr. Ley knew I was under an oncologist's care, and her office had his information at least twice in writing, yet she failed to notify him either, leaving my care team in the dark. Because of Dr. Ley's failure to communicate this critical correction to me or my oncologist, I now have permanent radiation tattoos. I would have started unnecessary radiation treatments had I not discovered the error myself on a hospital bill. I have filed formal grievances. Do not trust this provider.

With her explanation in my case she was for concentrating on the right breast. I decided to have both remove to eliminating the possibility of anything coming back. Luckly! I did they checked tissue of the left which was partially removed at a previous surgery before and found cancer cells. With her I'm glad she was taking care of me.
