If I had to find something to nitpick: I did overhear another staff member speaking with an older client and she was quite unprofessional. Don't know the backstory there, but it might have been better to take their conversation to a more private space. Also, they were booked out 3 months for a preventative exam, but then didn't confirm my appointment in any way. It'd help efficiency in the office flow if a simple follow up had been provided one or two days in advance.

After a few minutes had passed, I was greeted by Megan and Jessica, two very pleasant and competent assistants, who had made sure everything was ready for Dr. Lydia Shedlofsky to remove some basal cell carcinoma on my neck. I was very impressed at how carefully Dr Shedlofsky was in making sure that there weren't any more Basal cells remaining. The whole experience at Summit Dermatology has been very satisfying and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

My wife once cut her leg badly on a Sunday when the urgent care near us was closed. I called Dr. Crane in a panic and he actually met us at his office that Sunday afternoon. He cleaned, stitched and disinfected her bad wound. Another time, his amazing Nurse Cleary correctly noted an internal infection in my shoulder after the orthopedic surgeon and his PA had both misdiagnosed the post surgical infection as a dermatology issue. This entire group is exceptional.

They are now owned by a giant out-of-state company which has resulted in less accountability for their poor performance. I don't understand how they can have so many employees yet you can never get any real customer service. And much of the staff does not seem to be well-trained at all. It's difficult to reach a real person by phone at Atlantic and when you finally get someone, rarely do you get a person who knows what they're doing. Most of them seem constantly confused and very vague in all their answers. It's like it's their first day on the job. They also make billing mistakes and then good luck finding the right person who can help you. And when you finally see a doctor, the ones I've had are in and out of the room so fast that you suspect they are using stopwatches to keep from going over spending 3 1/2 minutes with you. I have switched to a smaller dermatologist's office. One that doesn't make me feel like I'm on a conveyer belt on an assembly line. One that is not part of the giant conglomerations who are taking over all the healthcare facilities in Wilmington. I do not recommend Atlantic Dermatology.

Coastal Dermatology had a cancellation, and slid me in to see Madelyn Ferlazzo, PA, right away. Madelyn offered a clear understanding of my problem, performed a biopsy and within a week her office personnel called to report the lab results. I was very satisficed with the attention given by Madelyn and the med tech, Evan. I will continue to use Coastal Dermatologist for my medical needs. The office staff was friendly and very accommodating. I recommend using Coastal Dermatologist for any dermatological needs.
