TI and Tiny, I had the opportunity to make reservations on Saturday, March 9, 2024 @ 3:00 p.m. for four people. Once I arrived I was stunned to pay $20.00 for parking without a receipt or a parking ticket (hideous). When we arrived inside they checked for our reservation and seated us expeditiously. Our waitress immediately came over to explain to us about the light on the table (understood). I looked at the menu prior to arriving and knew what I was ordering. I ordered the chicken and waffles for $19.00 and a bottle of water for $5.00 (ouch). Our food arrived shortly after ordering. However, the chicken looked like it was on crack and the waffle was as cold, dry, and looked like an LET GO OF MY EGGO WAFFLE, and was as dry as the sand on the beach. I asked your waitress for a manager. She stated the there was no manager on duty. What can I do at this point because you are not allowed to send the food back. I asked for a new waffle and she honored my request BUT she bought the waffle back without butter and syrup. I requested butter and syrup and it took her 8 minutes to bring it back (yes I timed her). Now I am back at square one (JESUS). I personally would not suggest that anyone visit this establishment because I know that we as an people can do better than this. I would say, not worth what I paid. There is also an automatic 20% "gratuity" charge on your bill. No business can force this on you and it can be removed if this is a concern. Parking is crazy. Parking is a headache on many days coming. I would say it's a bit sketchy if their parking lot is full because you have random people assigning "self parking". Keep in mind it is $20 to park. A pointer is if you're at the Trap Museum and you paid for parking you don't have to leave and pay again to park at Trap City they're legit within walking distance of each other. Salmon Alfredo Pasta was okay, but the salmon was over seasoned and the noodles were over cooked. The ambiance was loud, it seemed more like a day club than a cafe. A friend and I visited Trap City Cafe on a whim yesterday evening and had a phenomenal experience across the board. The parking attendants' energy, the professional from security and the hostess, the bartenders and servers' promptness, and the DJ were all 5 stars. It was a pleasant surprise to also come up on an open mic night, which was fun and had the perfect ambiance. The establishment was not crowded, and the crowd was diverse in age and wardrobe. Sometimes, you have to get out and enjoy the city, and I'm glad I took a chance on Trap City Cafe. Great job; especially for a spot on Northside Drive. Oh, and the artwork... loved it! read more
