This is an interesting situation reading these posts. First and foremost, most people underestimate the level of work that is needed to remove trash and other things. That is the reason they are sub-contracting out. I have used Trash Can Willys on three separate occasions; once to clean out a corporate/manufacturing office that was moving; second, to haul out some junk that collected in my garage and finally to haul out a complete disaster left by my tenant in a rental condo. They always say if you have a small pile of stuff ... $100 to $280. [Gas, Labor doing the work, Labor Travel, Taxes, insurance and disposal] If you have a garage full, expect $800 to $1000, however, consider this, it is nearly double from the other groups. Next, if you have a completely disgusting mess due to a tenant .... these guys are life savers at $2500.00. Or go to Servicemasters and pay double. Many of these complaints seem to be a bit over the top. I have always been told, call the shop if I had a question. Pay the $15 to get a pre-quote and deal with the fact that most people don't want to do the work themselves, but want someone else to do it for nearly free. I had made an appointment with Trash Can Willy for a pick up on a Saturday. My daughter and I had cleaned out some old furniture and a lot of unused items. The crew that show up were awesome... and shame on me I have forgotten their names ( Saturday June 8th in Manchester, NH) just so the boss will know the crew. They arrived on time and review the quote I had received when making appointment, walk thru check all items to be removed and state quote was right on target. With a smile and lots of energy they proceeded to remove everything packed the truck, received their payment said "Thank You". and left!!! I was very happy with the service that Trash Can Willy's provided. They took care of the items as specified. The initial quote I was given was cheaper than the price I was charged when they were done with the job. The service crew informed me that i was not able to use a coupon that I obtained in the mail. I spoke to Steve who straightened out the coupon issue and refunded that amount back to me. I felt the price they charged was reasonable given the amount of items i had taken away. I had an old hot tub that needed removal, after calling several places and getting ridiculous quotes for removal I finally found Willy's. From my first call through pickup I was very impressed with customer service and communication. I was given an estimated pick up window but unfortunately the guys were delayed with pickups scheduled before me. They checked in regularly to update me on their revised timeframes. We arranged our appointment by phone and got an incredibly accurate estimate after explaining all we had to dispose of (an old boat and a full garage full of furniture and household items). Literally the best junk removal service around. Prompt, on time and efficient. Gave a call ahead to tell of progress then called again when on the way. Eric and Kyle showed up on time. They were efficient and quick, took only about a half hour for a LARGE junk pile. Seeing we had more than they had estimated, they gave us a new quote but were more than happy to only take what we could afford that day. Great guys, great respect for veterans and really helpful. Do not use this company! They claim to be veteran owned whitch is true, it is veteran owned but they do not donate to the veterans or any other nonprofit that they claim they charge you to remove your junk and most of it goes to the dump. But a lot of it goes to a store in Londonderry called pickers and it gets resold! You're thinking you're donating to a good cause and you are not! They do not follow covid guidelines! After researching junk removal companies, I decided on Trash Can Willy's. David and Art came by today to pick up my stuff. I felt sort of bad, because one of the items was a huge oversized bulky sectional. Not only that, but it was up two flights of stairs. Both David and Art were very pleasant, professional and very hard workers. Everything was removed with no damage to my home as well. A plus, as that sectional was HUGE.
