I read that Buckhead, is starting to hire off-duty police officers to patrol its streets and commercial centers. So yes, Buckhead is safe. Yet, that indicates that they don't think the Atlanta Police Department is getting the job done. So why chance someplace else out in the area? Mind you there are plenty of restaurants in the area, and don't overlook the Atlas, which is the St Regis's onsite restaurant; plus, there is a grocery store, even a Jeni's Ice Cream parlor across the street. All perfectly safe. If you're looking for a wedding dress, there is a Mandi Jackson Bridel on the first floor, kind of pricey but that's weddings for you.

At midnight when many people are leaving the restaurants and hotel, there are two valet attendants. One is absolutely rude and has walked past me and my husband five times as we say excuse me and try to give him the valet ticket to retrieve our car! I am in hospitality so service is my business and this valet misses the mark by far! I would have given a zero, but it has to get a star in order to leave a review!

The first thing I want to draw attention to for this particular Drury is their incredible staff. My husband and parents were taking a trip west of Atlanta. The accommodations we had reserved were not at all as advertised...or safe. Immediately, my husband called Drury in Marietta (about 45 minutes away) to see if they had any availability. Unfortunately, they were booked that night but told us to call them at 10am the next morning and they would help us. Not only did they help us with rooms, they gave us the first two that were available which allowed us to check in early and get some much needed rest! Throughout our stay, we were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff members. From the front desk to the cleaning team to the kitchen staff, everyone was welcoming. One of the perks of Drury is an included breakfast and "kick back" dinner. We were grateful to have a hot breakfast each morning of our stay. The nights we were at the hotel in time for dinner, we enjoyed fun food like hot dogs and nachos as well as the hot food like mashed potatoes, veggies and meatballs. The rooms were spacious and clean. Every area of the hotel was extremely clean! We enjoyed using the indoor/outdoor pool as well as the hot tub. BED BUGS in Room #301, Construction, and Zero Concern - AVOID THIS HOTEL…read more I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience at the Hyatt Regency Northwest Atlanta was so awful, I feel obligated to warn future travelers: **Do not stay here.** Upon checking into Room #301, I quickly discovered BED BUGS, not just on one bed, but BOTH beds. These were tiny/hard to see, they were pepper-sized pests crawling around the sheets, and I even captured, video of them moving across the fabric. It was absolutely disgusting. To make matters worse, the room itself had an old, filthy carpet that clearly hasn't been deep-cleaned in years. This wasn't an isolated incident the entire space gave off the feeling of long-term neglect hidden under a weak attempt at refurbishment. When I informed the front desk, I was met with a disturbing lack of concern. They casually offered to move me to another room as if a full-blown bed bug infestation was just a minor inconvenience. I immediately declined, checked out, and drove home to wash all my clothes and sanitize everything I brought with me, out of fear of bringing bed bugs into my home. On top of that, the hotel is currently under construction, which is not clearly disclosed at booking. The noise, dust, and smell of cheap paint were everywhere. This property is clearly an old, worn-out building with some fresh paint slapped on the walls in an effort to disguise decades of neglect and poor maintenance. Let me be clear: this hotel should not be open to the public in its current condition. If the Hyatt name means anything to you, you'll be as shocked as I was by what you find here. Avoid Room #301 (bed bug infestation) This stay was a complete disaster. If you value your health, comfort, and sanity, stay far away from this place. She called up to my friend's room, walked me to the elevator, asked if I needed any further assistance and told me exactly how to get there. Once I got off the elevator, I fell in love with the calming lavender smell that moved through the hallway and my goodness, this place was just quiet. The room itself was spacious, the bathroom was modern and clean, and the balcony area was a nice retreat to just hang outside and enjoy a nice evening since it wasn't full on stifling GA heat that night. We called to room service several times and it was as though we called and they would just appear with what we needed in a matter of second. Pure magic. There were a lot of instructions but it was very clear what was needed and it was rather an easy process. It was a little weird emailing a selfie of myself but fine if that was all they needed for proof of who I was and that we had checked in. The room/apartment was amazing. It felt like a home and large enough to feel comfortable. We used the kitchen and dining area as we were there a few days. Everything was available from plates and cups to sponges and dish soap. However, there were only bath samples enough for one use so if you are planning on staying more than one night then bring your own shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. The white towel situation is very strict so if you don't want to be charged for soiling the linens in any way, bring your own towels. The location is central and private parking is available right in front of your apartment unit. I never heard any noise from neighbors and we were required to take out our own trash since it was basically an apartment complex. I had no issues with any of the rules and would gladly stay here again. We really loved it and it was way cheaper than any of the hotels in downtown Atlanta.

While the "bedroom/living room" portion was updated, I was surprised to learn that the kitchen and especially bathroom were not. I don't feel like anyone should be surprised when it comes to a purchase, so this review is accompanied by actual pictures of the Studios on 25th (standard) located at 47 25th Street Northwest in Atlanta. TIPS: -Be prepared for TONS OF TRAFFIC at this location (not the hotel's fault) -Bring your own towels and toiletries. You'll arrive and find two bath towels, and two hand towels. There are palm-sized containers of a shampoo, conditioner, and body soap -- good for one use only. -There is no on-sight front desk, so check in will require you to take photos of the following and submit them online to complete your virtual check-in experience: Picture of self holding your DL, Picture of your credit card that you used to book, and picture of the credit card you'd like to use for damages -Speaking of damages, while I was not charged for anything extra, please be very careful. There are lots of rules, including warnings about soiling their towels, or throwing away empty cleaning supply bottles. There is a minimum damages fee if any damages are assessed, so just read all the fine print. And don't forget to take your garbage out at the end of your stay! That's part of your check out list. By the way, the minute I stepped into the room and realized it was nothing like the pictures, I immediately contacted management. They advised me that I booked the **standard** room, so I was in the right place. It's just too bad that the pictures advertising the place did not match up to the actual room. Anyway, it's not a bad place, but since this trip was a graduation present for my daughter, I was sort of embarrassed at the accommodations I'd unwittingly chosen. I don't know why there are no photos available of the standard studio, especially the bathroom. Anyway, I've included them so future potential guests can be truly informed before making a decision. If you just need a clean, quiet place to rest your head and you hate hotels, this might work for you. EDIT: In response to the owners notes below, I would add that (1) The room was well over $100 a night. I stayed three nights and paid $451 with tax. It is currently advertised on booking.com for $126 a night for the standard room. (2)The pictures I've posted are of the actual room I stayed in. I did not do any sort of photo magic or editing. That's the room I had. What about the pictures is inaccurate?The bathroom has not been renovated since the 60's. It could be upgraded using vintage styled finishes if one was truly going for a vintage look and there would be no need to tear the building down to renovate the bathroom. The way it is now, some choose to call it "vintage", I call it old and outdated. It needs way more than some caulking. (3) The one star review reflects the bait/switch tactics that made me feel like I'd been fooled. The pictures on booking.com are, at the very least, misleading. The photos of the upgraded units are mixed in with the standard units, and not one advertising picture *accurately* depicts the bathroom. Yes, the unit is quiet, clean, and a unique departure from the standard hotel. However, the consumer has the right to know the whole story. For some people, even with the un-renovated bathroom, the unit would be fine. The goal of my review was simply to make potential guests fully aware of all aspects of the room. (4) This company has a few properties in the area. Not only that, but they have normal, updated studios in the very building I stayed in. I imagine the good reviews are from people who've had the benefit of better accommodations than I had.
