Travis is AMAZING if I could give him more than 5 stars I would!! HIRE HIM!!!!! Professional, patient, and clearly talented at what he does! Engagement Shoot - We had our Engagement shoot all the way out at Diablo Lake (one of the first hikes me and my hubs ever did together) not only did he drive all the way out there - but he tracked us down halfway around the lake when we realized that I hadn't specified an actual meet up location (totally my bad) beyond that it was beginning to rain and while it was putting me on edge, Travis kept his cool, wasn't trying to rush and took BEAUTIFUL photos of us that truly captured who we are as a couple. Between the Engagement shoot and Wedding: Flexible with payment schedules as we were pressed to try to get all of our payments done prior to the wedding, and always super responsive! He was hands down one of the best vendors we worked with. Wedding: First off let me say our wedding party and family situation was not particularly ideal. From the sneak peak photos i've seen, you would never have known that there was any tension or any stress. Travis was PATIENT even when I was not, he was courteous and On time - again even when we were running a bit behind. Another thing I noticed about Travis that I really appreciated, is that he wasn't there to just snap a camera, if he didn't like the branches on the ground, he cleared them out. It wasn't just about lining up and taking the photo, he was specific about locations and specific about lighting because he wants to truly wants to give the best. Okay, so now I'm going to say something a little weird- When it came time to the actual ceremony, as well as reception, I didn't know where he was- and I mean that in the ABSOLUTE BEST way possible! There wasn't a camera shoved into my face, he wasn't interrupting the flow of the day, or intruding on our guests good times, I would see him in one corner of the room one second, and a minute later in another, it seemed like he was always moving, and when it came time for our sunset photos he politely pulled us aside, and captured yet more beautiful images. Post Wedding: So we got married Last Saturday (yey) :P and already we have sneak peak photos! THEY ARE GORGEOUS, Clean and tasteful! They are true to Me and Chris which was really important to us, He got us in our best moments and gave us the keepsake of a lifetime, we are excited to say the least to see the rest! Working with Travis was so much fun! He is the perfect mix of professional and friendly. Add to that he is incredibly talented. Travis' love for what he does comes through in his work, not only in the final result but during the entire process as well. He is generous with his time and effort, and becomes truly invested in his clients. For our engagement session we gave Travis a general idea of what we were looking for and he came up with the rest - the location was a perfect fit. We were given plenty of direction in regard to how to pose in a way that highlighted our best features, and allowed our personalities to really show. My husband was fairly used to being in front of the camera, but I had never been photographed this way before so I was grateful for the direction. And again, it was so much fun! It was like we were hanging out with a friend. Leading up to the wedding Travis worked with us to get an idea of what we wanted to see in our pictures, including a list of "must-have" shots. We have a LOT of immediate family between the two of us and more than just two sets of parents, so making that work and keeping the "who's who" straight was a real feat! The day of the wedding Travis arrived as early as I did and was there until we left. He captured the entire event and even put together a preview slide show on his iPad for Chris and me to view while we ate. Again, so generous with his time! Travis was familiar with our venue and knew all the best places to get the pictures we wanted. His attention to detail - lighting, background, and placement - was exactly what we wanted. The end result is beautiful and I can't even count how many times I've looked through every single picture. The only thing I would change is to have more time scheduled for photography. We allotted 3 hours for photography on the day of the wedding, and ended up actually having about 2.5 hours. We initially went to Travis for photography, but learned he also did videography. We were very impressed with his work, even though he was earlier in his videography career (our wedding was in mid 2014 and I'm finally doing my review!!) Travis was easy to communicate with and worked very well with our photographer. Having my wedding taped was the best decision I made...I watch our "highlights" video way more than I look at my pictures. Such a special memory. Only reason I did not give Travis a 5 is that I wasn't able to secure all the footage I wanted. This may be part of some unspoken videographers code, but I would have liked to have video from the first look and other parts of the wedding, even if the quality wasn't great. I wanted it all so I could remember the day :) Luckily, travis did give me footage from our ceremony and some of the special dances. read more

The first time I met Travis was after I had seen him work at a friend's wedding and later at my brother's wedding. Next to the venue, getting a great photographer and videographer was the most important thing to me. I didn't want to worry about anything throughout the planning process and on my big day. When I got engaged, I researched multiple vendors and got comparison estimates from what Travis had quoted us. Some were lower and others were comparable. Ultimately, we decided to move forward with Travis due to our strong sense that he was going to be professional and reliable. From the get-go, Travis offered to meet up with us for coffee and explain to us everything he does and how it would work. I really appreciated that the meeting was not rushed and he took time to get to know us personally so that he had our story in mind for our big day. I really appreciated his communication skills as they were very clear. He was quick to respond to all phone calls and emails. On the day of our wedding, Travis was the first outside vendor at our venue which I greatly appreciated. He was set up and ready to go. When he was working, everything felt seamless. I knew he was there but it felt like he wasn't, in the sense that he was great at keeping off to the side and allow the day to unfold. I appreciated that he stayed until the end of the day and took a lot of footage. The actual result was AMAZING! Travis was very talented at picking out the very most special moments in our day. He captured all the things that I would like to remember forever. All in all, professionalism, reliability and the end result were the main points that were necessary for us to be 100% satisfied and Travis delivered on all fronts! After meeting with Travis for the first time, my husband and I knew that he would be a great photographer to work with! He was very professional and detail-oriented about his work during the meeting. He demonstrated the upmost concern for the quality of his photos and final album product. We really appreciated Travis's flexibility when communicating and planning photo shoots with us. He was very organized when preparing for wedding day photos and he ensured that we had all the special shots that we wanted. On the day of the wedding, Travis made it possible to capture "getting ready" photos of my husband and I even though we were at different locations (which turned out really amazing!). I had an unfortunate make-up artist blunder on the wedding day causing me to arrive later than planned to the venue, however, Travis was able to get all the important shots and then some, even with the time crunch! He was rushing around the venue and worked very hard to get amazing photos! My husband and I did not have to worry at all about our wedding photos turning out or not, and were able to just relax and enjoy our wedding day. Travis also did an awesome job at sending back our final wedding photos quickly! We really love the Pass platform that Travis uses because it makes our wedding photos available on any device and stores them as well. It is very comforting to know that our wedding photos are backed up there as well as on our own computers. Overall, Travis did an incredible job from planning to shooting photos to delivering the final product! Remarkable. Anyone that has planned a wedding knows that being a bride is both magical and stressful all at the same time. Our vendors can be people who add to our stress; or take our burdens all on as their own- adding to the enchantment of this fleeting time. We chose Travis Lawton because he was recommended by a family member who is also a photographer, and she had worked with him on projects in the past, the photos that I saw online looked good, and because he was within our price-point. I had no idea how much more amazing our experience could get when working with him, but the perks just kept rolling in! Choosing Travis was the best decision we made surrounding our whole event- Besides each other, of course! He pays attention to detail and professionalism. As a bride you have to think of every little detail, things that under normal circumstances would never even cross your mind. Travis eased that load by listening to what I wanted, asking questions and setting up clear timelines. I had envisioned beautiful fall engagement photos, and Travis was very knowledgeable in local areas where there were some great landscapes to use as our backdrop. When I had questions about patterns and colors to wear for our engagement session, Travis very promptly responded with great information about what would be most flattering and what to avoid. For a novice like me, it was so helpful and relieved so much anxiety! When engagement shoot-day came, he needed us to be there at a certain time to capture the right light. So of course, we got caught in Seattle traffic and then on a draw bridge! I called him panicking (And thinking he's be mad!) and he totally eased my fears and told me that we would make it work. He was right. Even though we were fighting nightfall, our photos turned out beautifully! As a matter of fact, our favorite shot (Now a canvas over our bed) was one of the very last photos we took which captured the changing sky. Just breathtaking! Travis had me fill out some special forms to help ensure that he could capture everything I had hoped and dreamed for our wedding day photos. I was able to list any special shots I wanted him to make sure of and identified special people that we needed to be sure we had these precious memories of. The day of the wedding went flawlessly. Travis had arranged for a second shooter so that we could have both side of the bridal party captured while we got ready. Now, I love seeing the photos of the men while they were preparing. It's so fun to look back and see the time before the wedding when we weren't together. They took care to use the requests I had made on their forms, and got every combination of photos I had requested for our obnoxiously large family. This was very important to me, so I was very thankful they prioritized it for me. One of my favorite things about having used Travis is how thoughtful he is with many special touches. Just before the wedding, when all of our stress was culminating and all of our balances started coming due, Travis sent us a beautiful letter with a coffee gift card, asking Don and I to take an hour to ourselves, just to be together, enjoy each other, and NOT talk about the wedding. During that time, we needed an excuse to just be together. THEN! After the wedding we had another surprise in the mail. Travis had some of his favorite shots from our wedding printed (Quite a few too!) and put into a handmade a hinged wooden box with our initials carved in the lid! You guys... I said he HANDMADE A WOODEN BOX! I mean, ?? I don't even have words for how meaningful that was to us! Both our engagement photos and wedding photos were back to us before the deadline Travis had placed. The quality is BEUATIFUL. I have never been captured so well in my life. His professionalism and service was above and beyond my best expectations. Because of our great experience and how noticeable it was to everyone- my Maid of Honor is using him as her photographer for her wedding in August. Book Travis. Everything about your wedding is fleeting except for your marriage and your photographs. We hired Travis after he photographed my best friends wedding. He went above and beyond my expectations in every category. Professional, quick to reply - AWESOME photos!, accommodating, and definitely worth every penny! He worked with us on finding a good day and time to capture our engagement photos (which were included in the package) in the setting we wanted (we got engaged in August, booked Travis in September and had our fall engagement photos taken in October!) he had me fill out a form of what types of photos (family, wedding party, getting ready, etc) were most important / we wanted a lot of. There was a spot to list out what family photos we wanted (bride/groom/bride mom, bride/groom/groom mom and so on and so forth) so when it came time for family photos that went so quick and easy. He and my wedding coordinator made every picture I had hoped for happen and more. He worked well and profession with my videographer as well - which is pretty important since they are both trying to capture the every moment. Our evening ran a little later than planned but he still stayed a little longer than his contract to get our pics of our farewell. I would highly recommend Travis to anyone and everyone one!
