When I brought my Santa Fe in for service I was told that my gaskets around my engine were all…read moreleaking--head gasket, oil pan, and valve cover gasket, sending oil to all other parts of the external engine. The Service Agent even said that they had to "jump start [my] SUV to get it into the service bay." I kid you not (the theory being that oil spatters had damaged the starter). He quoted a cost more than $4000 dollars to do all this work and I left the dealer *devastated* that I was going to have to pay all that money to keep my car in good shape. I was ready to sell my Santa Fe and buy something from Honda or Kia. But I took it to a regular mechanic who did an engine shampoo and replaced the oil pan gasket. He said he couldn't find any more oil leaks. And I insisted that there must be more, but he said no. He was adamant that he'd found the only source of oil leak ... $300 later. I pushed him and he got testy: there were No More Leaks. So I drove it for another 10,000 kilometres--a lot of those highway in adverse weather. There are no oil-covered engine parts yet. The Santa Fe was Government-Inspected again after all those KMs, and passed with flying colours. So ... um ... where are all these oil leaks that Jim Pattison Hyundai Service mentioned? Well, apparently *nowhere*. Pure fabrication. And as for needing a jump start to get going? NEVER in a year since that ... statement ... from the Service Rep: I've even jumped a Ford in a parking lot (in minus 20 degree weather!) since then. It was all made up--designed to part me from my money, I suspect. I don't want to say something like "LIES all LIES" since there is a chance they were just having a bad day or maybe just incompetent ... but after all this time there is not a single drop of oil on any other engine part. My car has started fine for a year--even jumped someone! I WILL NOT be going back to this shop. No matter the reason, they've completely fluffed the service on my Santa Fe. I have a mechanic now whom I trust and will continue to go to.

This review is for the sales department. We were looking for a second vehicle and were considering…read moreHyundai so we came into the dealership one Sunday morning. It was our second day of looking at vehicles after going to Honda and Mazda the day before. Because we were just starting our search, we made it clear that we were not ready to purchase on this day but we wanted to do a test drive and get some numbers for pricing. We were able to test drive the Elantra with no issues. No issue with the sales guy during that process. When it was time to look at pricing, he could have been a bit faster when running the numbers. He basically made us sit in his office for ten minutes. Came back. Then found an error. Left. And then took almost ten minutes again. He showed us the numbers on a print out. I thought I could take the quote and think about it. Apparently not. He said it was for internal use only. He then wrote the pricing of the different models on the back of his business card. (See attached picture). LOL WTF. This was definitely a turn off. As he was writing it I could see he messed up the models already. But whatever, that's besides the point. I'm an analytical guy, and if someone wants to take the numbers home to take a closer look, you think they're going to appreciate a hand written price on the back of your business card?! We thanked him for his time, but as usual with dealerships, he wanted us to meet the manager, Amir. By this time we were already in a rush to get out of there since they took so long for the pricing beforehand. The sales guy said the manager would just like to meet us and would add no pressure. But that wasn't the case. He basically wanted to be a "boss" and asked what number would work for us for him to sell us the vehicle that day. In fact, he referred to it as the "magic" number. I told him we weren't interested in making such a decision at this time but he insisted. In the end, I'm pretty sure that backfired on him. We had no interest in purchasing from this dealership after that. Plus they wasted two hours of our time just to test drive a car and get a quote.

At drop off time I was asked if I wanted a car wash, but as it was raining I said no thanks. Following two hours in the waiting, area I asked when my car would be ready, and told the service rep that I had a dental appointment in Vancouver some 90 minutes later. I was then informed that the car was being road tested. Not necessary, as the issue could be readily identified by simply tapping on the outer part of the map light housing which I had already demonstrated to two of their service agents. Then, while another hour passed I missed my dental appointment. Not news here, but he dental office charges you whether you show up or not. I was able to telephone my dentist and they kindly moved me up another hour and fifteen minutes. An hour later, the service manager appeared and said that they had no time to look at my car. Nothing had been done to my vehicle. It had just been parked in their service area for some three hours. Is this the type of service you might expect from a top line Nissan Dealership? Not this one a least. I won't be returning.
