Tre is a higher end bar/restaurant not really suited to the younger crowd but more along the lines of business type dinners and drinks. If you've after a dive bar, this is at the other end of the scale and I would suggest one of the other bars on Minnesota Ave close by. The food tastes great. I've had several things here and you can't go wrong Its never been over crowded in the bar or restaurant when I've been here but a healthy atmosphere with just the right mix of people. read more

Finally! A high-class restaurant we can frequent. We were just introduced to this place by friends, and we are already planning our next visit. Leather covered benches and chairs, quality service, reasonable prices and a well rounded menu containing things from sea food to beef wellington. While we were there, we checked out the private room downstairs in case we would want to rent it for future business functions. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! It can seat 60 comfortably, with its own private bathrooms, bar, sound system and TV. The neutral colors and lighting are perfect for being a good backdrop to whatever colors or theme you wanted to decorate with. Never expected to have one of the best meals in my life in Sioux Falls, SD. Look I have been to every major food city in the US, I'm talking NYC, Boston, San Fran, Chicago, Philly, LA, Vegas, Phoenix etc. And eaten at top restaurants. Believe it or not this place was close to the top. I ordered the beef Wellington w/blue cheese and recommend it to all. I had a Wellington in Maui at Chez Paul (the best but closed) and this one was right there. The second time I went I ordered it again, slightly overcooked but still really good. Can't blame them entirely since the group I was with all ordered the Wellington thanks to me. They had to cook 6 or 7 just for one table. You try to time that. Love the decor, lighting, noise level, a real find in South Dakota. I just hope the locals realize or appreciate that you don't get food like that in towns where everyone knows each other. I like the ambiance of this place, but that's about it. The food is mediocre and the service stinks. I've been here half a dozen times and every time it takes at least 10 minutes to get my first drink, and the food takes forever even when the bar is half full. The food menu is pretty standard, pizzas, burgers, pasta, etc and the drink menu is quite inventive. If you want to be an upscale lounge, you have to have the service and the food to match. This place does not. Spend your time elsewhere. read more

One of my fiance's favorite places to go for a few drinks and some great appetizers. When we went last weekend we had the boneless buffalo wings (both the Thai Cilantro and the Chinese BBQ) and they were awesome. I had a bowl of the carmelized onion soup and it was fantastic as well. Service is good, quick and friendly. My only complaint is the lighting in the room. I heard they spent a small fortune on lighting but I found it rather displeasing. It is almost too dark and I felt like I really had to strain my eyes to see around the place, not to mention the nasty glare on my glasses. Otherwise Tre is a great little place to have some after dinner drinks and chat amongst friends. I am looking forward to many a more evenings at Tre. read more

I like Tre! When I first went there I was worried it would be full of poseurs (yes, they do exist in Sioux Falls), but it was actually really quiet and laid back. They had some great specials, and the prices for drinks were reasonable for that type of place. My friend and I ended up sitting by the fireplace, and the bartender thoughtfully turned the fireplace on for me. Ambiance was warm and intimate...I enjoyed it and will be back. read more

Well the 'manager' never did have the owner call, nor did the mgr call back after I advised them to look at my yelp post for the details of my experience and call me back with their solution. Evidently they'd rather I just go away than they make amends for ruining our night. I'll still try to reach the owners as I don't think they're aware that this manager is not doing their job. Maybe if they were aware they'd resolve the situation as the establishment there DOES appear to take pride in some things. Again I am asking that the owner contact us so we can discuss our dismal experiences and your manager's performance, or lack thereof.... Meanwhile skip Tre, head to the Other Place for burgers and American fare or maybe Lam's for some good Vietnamese! read more

Terrible service. Waitress with an attitude. Wife's meal was wrong twice. Third time it was right and everyone at the table was done eating when she got hers. Food was average and over priced. For what we paid i could have got better service and food at Applebees. Probably wont be going back to Tre read more

It is very rare to find a restaurant and lounge with perfect service, private yet friendly atmosphere, incredible selections of food/beverages AND which serves consistently delicious food! We love to drop by the patio in the summer and cozy up to their fires the rest of the year! Sometimes we simply split the chicken nachos (enough for a full table!!), other times we spurge for a truly gourmet selection! Keep up the great work! read more

On vacation from Hawaii and checked out this recommended place. We first asked for a wine recommendation and enjoyed the most wonderful California pino, Meiomi. Nice selection of reasonably priced burgers from which my husband picked the Flaming Angus. I really enjoyed the lime salmon selection, seasoned and cooked perfectly. Tre's boasts an impressive wine selection and display and overall this establishment beams of subtle classiness. I have visited many watering holes around the country and Tre's bar set up was one of the best I have seen. You will not be disappointed! read more

Tre Lounge is one of our favorite places to east in Sioux Falls. They have wonderful burgers 2 for the price of one on Mondays. For a lighter meal my wife and I will go there for their incredible appetizers and a glass of wine our one of their craft beers that they have on tap. Last night (Friday) it was busy so we sat at the bar. I had the black and blue ribeye, and my wife had their rosemary fillet. Both were perfectly cooked and fantastic all around. Even the green beans and mashed potatoes were great! Best meal that I have had in a long time! Service has also been consistently good every time we go there. read more

Very good food and very good service. We had Mahi Mahi and walleye with crab. Wallye was a little under cooked and Mahi Mahi was perfectly cooked. The rice and potatoes were a little less than hot. Service was spot on. read more

Typically a quality restaurant but tonight it was anything but that. I ordered the jambalaya which I had ordered there in the past, over a year ago, and I wanted to enjoy it again. What I received was completely different that what anyone would call jambalaya. The short version, if Campbell's soup made a jambalaya in a can. The long version, cream of chicken soup dumped onto the pressed chicken you get at a subway sandwich restaurant accompanied with 2 "shrimp" and andouille sausage looked and tasted like ring Bologna. As for the flavor it tasted just like the collection of those ingredients, nothing added, no pepper or spice. Incredibly disappointed that this typically quality restaurant could have fallen this far. Stick to sandwiches and burgers I guess. read more

Terrible shrimp tacos. Cold unseasoned tiny shrimp. the kind you get from a can! With shredded cabbage on a cold rubbery corn tortilla. Not sure how the cook thinks this is restaurant quality. Had high hopes for improvement with new ownership/management. Will never return. read more

My wife and I love to go out and have a couple of drinks and appetizers once every couple of weeks. We recently went to Tre and were pleasantly surprised and impressed. The service was excellent; the food was very tasty; and the atmosphere was cozy. We will definitely be returning to Tre!!! read more
