Every once in a while you can find something decent here, especially if you need solid furniture items on a budget. Most of the furniture is nearly new and is sourced from Harbor Point and Greenwich. The guys are able to negotiate most of the time if asked and are knowledgeable about the stuff in there. when I moved here 3 years ago I used to love Remix market.. I furnished my entire apartment using them. However Ive been stopping in recently for some items and noticed the prices have skyrocketed. All of these items are used/donated but they are charging 75+ for one dining chair or 200+ for a small table. You will find better prices at Homegoods. I am only making this review so other people don't waste their time coming in hopes of finding a deal just as I have over the past month. read more

This place is PHENOMENAL. It's a complete treasure trove and a bargain shopper's paradise. Some of the older reviews really don't apply anymore as I've found the staff to be incredibly nice and helpful. They are willing to barter, hold items while making selections, help load into vehicles, and even keep an eye out for things you're hoping will come into the store. It's the great way to reduce your carbon footprint and stay busy with inexpensive home projects during the pandemic. I plan to make it a weekly outing while I'm renovating my 1940's house. read more

Having moved to the area recently I have been on the lookout for new furniture to fill the place. I came across this place after seeing an ad posted on Facebook marketplace. It's a large warehouse with all sorts of household items. Prices are extremely reasonable and it seems the selection was large. They get in new thing 6 days a week so you never know what you'll find! Love this place but some of the employees are racist and rude. One lady, I'm not sure of her name, proceeded to yell at my mother saying "go back to your country" "I was born here" and proceeded to take out her passport to shove it in my mother's face. Don't come here! This place used to be owned by a great person who priced everything fairly but now it is owned by some greedy old lady. 90% of the items being sold here is a dead persons goods, refurbished to look better. The refurbishing job isn't even good. For a dead persons goods this should be 1/4th of the retail cost of retail... however it's more like 1/2 the cost. They claim that they donate money to charities with the profits but I've never heard of them donating anything to any charity. Please before donating ANYTHING to them please think of donating to the Red Cross or Salvation Army before hard. At least good will has reasonable prices and helps the community that can not afford expensive furniture. RE THINK YOUR PRICES! I miss the old owners. read more

Some need just a bit of love but the great thing about them is that they are happy to alter or finish them just to your liking (you are also able to buy as it). We worked with Clint and he was such a help in helping evaluate and find just the right fit as well as delivery options with our best interest in mind. I bought a sofa. It looked fine in the online picture and two different staff told me it was in very good condition. This was a lie. It had a visible scuff (I was told that was the way the velvet was rubbed). More importantly, the back of the sofa was coming off which leaves a sharp edge. The website says they have refinishers in house but now they say they don't any longer. They gave me the runaround, then refused to make any accommodations for misrepresenting the product. I will also take this up with the BBB. read more

Second Chance (Junk Luggers retail arm) regularly advertises their items through Facebook and Letgo and from time to time they have some decent pieces. I have personally been to their location and seen the assortment of used furniture, some that has been painted over and repaired for sale. For the most part the furniture has seen better days but may still have some utilitarian life left in it and on occasion a decent piece can be found. The problem with Second Chance is they have no retail experience and fail to understand the importance of having strict procedures and process controls. I had read some negative reviews referring to customers traveling to see pieces that were advertised and showing up to find out they had been sold hours before. Second Chance had contact information and just didn't feel that it would be a good business practice to let the traveling customer know. I thought maybe that was then and surely after several poor reviews.....all similar they would have enacted some policy to prevent this in the future but alas no they hadn't. Well today I contacted them in regards to chairs advertised and Kendal informed that they did have them, and that I could put a deposit on them. I was willing to put a deposit but once I told him that I would be there in 40 minutes he said not to worry he would put a hold on them. I thought that was a nice gesture and told him I would be on my way. About 25 minutes later I decided to call back and ask if it would be alright if I stopped to pick up my wife's sport utility on the way but the gentleman that I spoke to told me the chairs had just been sold. I wanted to speak with Kendal but the gentleman told me he would have him call back. Kendal did call me back to inform me that the chairs were sold and he was sorry. Well sorry doesn't cut it, retail lives and dies by customer service regardless if it's Nordstrom or Walmart, if your word is worthless sooner than later nobody will want to do business with you. read more

Second Chance is a hidden gem in Stamford. If you need something special (e.g. chairs, tables, dressers), you stop by, look and see. Be patient. Come back, and you may find exactly what you want. Over times, I've been lucky to capture a few nice furniture pieces here. Very pleased with my purchases. Dan is the best to deal with. A man of his word, especially on my delivery. So happy we found Second Chance. I have been searching craigslist and FB for weeks for a dresser for my son, with no luck. A friend recommended I check Second Chance and they had exactly what I was looking for. A great solid wood dresser at a reasonable price. Needs a little TLC which we will take care of, but they apparently can refinish/restore furniture too if needed. The staff was friendly and helpful even though they were busy. Highly recommend checking this store out if you are looking for good quality gently used furniture. This will be my first stop the next time I need something. read more

I was having the hardest time finding decent second hand furniture- it seemed my choices were to either buy a cheap futon or couch from a big box retailer or to take what I could get at goodwill. But no! This place had quality stuff, friendly but unobtrusive service, inexpensive delivery and you can either purchase as-is or they'll refurb anything for you to your spec! I showed up on a flash sale day and got a couch, chair, dining room table and coordinating chairs for under $300. AND! It's green (upcycling) and they donate a portion to charity. Delivery was prompt. Give them you money. You will be pleased. read more
