What a pleasant surprise this experience was! We weren't expecting much when we opted to give this a try. It totally exceeded our expectations and was super fun! It is well done and worth the time and price. They have created an engaging, fun experience reminiscent of a cross between the Toy Story ride at California Adventure and the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland.

This ride was fun! We are 71 and 67, had our 2 granddaughters (17 & 18) as well. They rolled their eyes when I suggested it. The greeter was hilarious in her Pirate costume. The ride is a mini version is something like a Disney ride. You're in a cart type and each seat is equipped a gun. You're going through a cavern, and have to shoot and things with a cross or any treasures. You're score in right in front of you. The cart spins several times like a roller coaster. It's not long, but it was fun! At the end, they will show a score and your face. You have to have your phone/camera to take a pic of standings because they don't offer a picture. The ride was about $18.00. Not sure, but I believe you can ride it all day long on the day you bought a ticket. We enjoyed it even at our age! The girls ended up liking it too. If you're bored shopping, hop on in and go for a fun little ride.

Ok, first things first, I am an adult male over 60 years old, and I am most certainly not the target audience for this ride. But I like pirates, what can I say? I was visiting Monterey with my two adult daughters and we unexpectedly happened upon this ride/attraction on Cannery Row. We had to try it. So Treasure Hunt: the ride is a Pirate themed shooting ride with both practical sets and screens to aim at. For an attraction in this location, the theming of the ride was really quite good. And the cast members had a sweet sense of fun during the elaborate pre-show. The 10 year old kids loved this attraction!! They were just a tiny bit scared, wide eyed by the atmospheric sets, and enjoyed blasting anything with an "x" marking the spot. There is a story of some kind, but I couldn't really follow it, and it doesn't matter. It wasn't crowded when we rode. It put a silly grin on my face. To me that's a success.

This is a rare amusement park dark ride in the little town of Monterey. I've always been curious. Finally got a chance to check it out on Wednesday afternoon, a party of two without any kids. I didn't expect much. But the pirate-themed attraction ended up being pretty decent. The vehicle movement and element of shooting targets to earn a score was reminiscent of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland. And the sets and decor were similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, except you're not floating in water and there are no Disney characters here, only skeletons displayed in various scenes. The experience is actually based on real history, the story of pirate and captain, Hippolyte Bouchard. Guests are treasure hunters in this brief adventure. There's nothing scary about the ride so it's definitely kid-friendly, and the Disneyland quality makes it enjoyable for all ages, especially without Disneyland wait times (we were only in line for about ten minutes that afternoon).

I absolutely loved this attraction! It was a beautifully designed dark ride and shooting gallery attraction that combined screens and lots of practical effects - plus some animatronic figures! Matt told me the whole story about how TH was designed by a former Disney Imagineer which made it all make sense - the detail and immersion are great! I rode it 3 times with my family and I would have continued to ride if we didn't have to be somewhere that afternoon. The all-day passes are really worthwhile. The staff are really terrific and so helpful. We came by the night before about an hour before closing and the operator suggested that if we could come back the next day it would be a better value for our money so we could ride multiple times throughout the day. The ride operators were so friendly and took our picture in the ride vehicles. They chatted with us and were just so nice. We had our dog with us so they were also really accommodating in letting us switch off riders so someone could always sit outside with the pup. The next time we are in Monterey we will definitely go back to Treasure Hunt. My family and I absolutely loved it!!! ‍ Shout out to the operators who were there with us that day - I believe their names were Matt (upstairs), Mia (downstairs) and Maddy (upstairs the night before). I am sorry if I got your names wrong but you were all wonderful!!!

We decided to do this ride and glad we did. It reminded me of Toy Story's ride at Disneyland because you shoot at the screen to earn points. My 8 year old daughter was nervous because she thought it would be a scary ride, but not at all. The staff were very friendly and nice. It was entertaining from beginning to end. For $19.99 per person, you can get a stamp and ride the ride as many times as you want that day. She forgot to give us the stamp, lol. There was a brochure and inside was a page that if you present it you will get a free gift. But she had no idea what that gift was and she wasn't aware of the page so she just gave the kids an upgrade token (to earn more points) which was fine with me. I love how the staff was into their roles and made it fun and exciting for my kids. A little pricey but well worth the experience.

The family and I had so much fun on this ride! Very interactive and fun story telling. This ride keeps you engaged the entire time. We did ride the ride four times so I think that's a really cool element about the experience as your ticket includes unlimited rides. It was very entertaining and I jumped and laughed at every twist and turn. It's fun for all ages as even Grandma enjoyed herself!! Hopefully when you come José is working because he made the experience all the more entertaining.

Such gorgeous grounds, and the trees and foliage are OUTSTANDING! Nice and shady, lots of places to park a stroller for a quick nap. Food and single day entry are pricey--but if you get a pass, the value is fantastic. And you can bring in food and snacks too. Special shout out for the Halloween and Holiday celebrations! Super fun for the kids, abs they even have special drinks for adults. Fantastic water park--hang in the shade while your older kids slide and play!

I have no idea how I was not tracking this water park for kids years ago. If you have kids 2-15 I…read morethink you will find this a great option to change up a slow weekend. Let me also state that if you think you will use it more than once go with the Premium Membership. It will get you 25% off all food and drink items in the park as well as free parking. That alone makes it a no brainer. You can also buy cups, popcorn containers that you can bring back every time and get free refills. To include, icees, fountain drinks and popcorn. The are $30 for the initial purchase and something like $24 with a premium membership, but it adds up. The park has a little bit of everything, if you want water parks it has two options, smaller on geared for infants to toddlers. And a larger one ideal for 5 and up. It's also great for an adult who wants to cool off on a hot day. They have a lot of rides, most acceptable for 3+ yo children. A few rides have height requirements but most of those are ones parents can't accompany the child. The have a train ride that is for all ages and it circles the entire park allowing you to get off at either stop. A tram ride that travels through a botanical garden and a bunch of rides to occupy the kids. Their food options border on fair/fast food. We tried the Wok restaurant and well I would not recommend it. We tried chicken shish-kabobs it was under whelming. Wait times during peak meal times can be very long so recommend you plan around it or suffer during it. One other consideration, while much of the park is under tree canopy, on a hot day stepping out from under the shade into the open can feel like hell's kitchen. Our last visit temps hit over 100 and being out of the shade was brutal. You will never be more aware of this than at the water park areas, lack of shade into those areas is rough. They have cabanas you can rent but I fear on a hot day the cabanas probably get hot since they have no fans. We will definitely be going back and I urge those of you with kids to give it a try.

The entire birthday party process was seamless from beginning to end. They provide a designated party area, you can order food directly through them, and their team brings everything out, sets things up, and handles the cleanup afterward. As a parent hosting a kids' birthday party, having so much taken care of for you makes a HUGE difference. I also felt the pricing was very reasonable for everything that was included. We added Danny the Dragon as our entertainment, and my son LOVED it! Danny interacted with the kids, played games with them, and made the celebration feel extra special. There was so much for the kids to do between the birthday activities, rides, playgrounds, and animals. My only regret was choosing the 1:30 PM party time instead of the earlier 10:30 AM option. If I could do it again, I would absolutely choose the morning time and make a full day of it. There is simply too much to see and do! Between enjoying the party itself, riding the rides, and seeing all of the animals, we ran out of time and didn't get to experience everything. We'll definitely be going back to finish what we missed! 100% recommend Happy Hollow for a child's birthday party. It was fun for the kids, easy for the adults, reasonably priced, and incredibly well organized. Such a wonderful place to celebrate a little one!

Very entertaining park for children while still lively and interesting for parents at the zoo…read more There was plenty of available parking, but it was a bit pricey. It was $10 for any amount of time, and a staff member consistently warned visitors entering about potential fines. Before the ticket booth, there were bronze sculptures of animals and funnily shaped characters. Notably, those in the sun were covered up, most likely to protect children from burns in the intense heat. There wasn't much of a crowd despite my weekend visit, and everyone was swift and friendly. We paid $22 per adult for entry. I highly recommend coming near opening, as the animals were being fed and were incredibly active. When I swung by some of the exhibits later in the day, many of them weren't out and about since there wasn't any food tempting them. One complaint would be how inaccurate the map was. While it depicted specific pathways, turns, and connections, it was nothing like that in reality. It was difficult to keep track of which animals we had seen as the exhibits were oriented differently throughout the park. Rides had specific hours when they were open, so if your child has a specific ride in mind, I would double-check the day's schedule. Otherwise, there were constant shows distributed throughout the day. The center of the park was perfect for picnics, as the grass was well maintained and there was some shade from the larger trees. Unfortunately, the jaguar was unavailable during my visit, but the other animals made up for it. I adored the capybaras and their intense munching on lettuce and carrots. My favorite had to be the fennec foxes as they pranced around in the sun. Not the largest zoo, but it was a fun supplement to the rides and amusement park. The animal exhibits alone were enough to keep me entertained, while the rides, shows, and picnic areas gave children plenty to do. I just wished the parking and admission were a bit cheaper.
