Loved the underwater theme of this maze. It was actually a bit challenging for two adults. Once we made it out, we had a second go at it, but this time with holographic glasses which didn't make it any easier, especially with the color-changing lights inside. It was a fun and laid-back activity to do, with upbeat tunes like Beatles music playing in the background. I don't think it was $18 worth of fun, but it was cool to check out as a one-time experience, and you can do it multiple times on the same day. I've enjoyed the SF version in the past, and the Monterey Mirror Maze was similar, but with more colorful and entertaining lobby decor and props. They also currently offer a coupon on their website for a free try at "The Heist" laser challenge. Really expensive for what it is. You can walk through the maze in less than 5 minutes and their game room is really basic. For $40 or more a person, it just isn't worth it. You may well walk around the town instead. read more

Took our 12yo girls to aquarium of course and was looking for another Quick activity for them to do. Located on the walkway near the Sugar Candy store. Prices were$$ Paid entrance gets you unlimited times in maze. First time, it took the girls less than a 10 minutes or to complete and then afterwards they wanted us to time them to get through. They seemed to enjoy it. I'm glad I didn't go inside as it did seem like a very small maze. read more

I took my kids there after the aquarium. The owner was the nicest guy. We did the mirror maze first and planned to come back after dinner. I managed to misplace our receipt some time after lunch.. By the we came back after dinner with my wife, I was bummed about possibly having to pay again. I told the owner and he said, " I trust you." He let the four of us go through. Surprised how much fun the laser mazes were. My grandson and I needed a quick fun activity while waiting for our ride. When we entered it was rather expensive for an all day pass. Before we walked out Shawn offered the laser game. We didn't know what it was, other than quick. He let my grandson try it and he loved it. Then we bought tokens. On his third try, he got onto the leaderboard and got a prize because of it! When we were ready to leave Shawn played a two person game with my grandson and reminded him to choose his prize. Whoever hired Shawn is so lucky to have such a friendly, helpful employee. I know we'll come back. read more

Here for the kids Spring Break and we're so happy we made a stop here. The kids had a blast and they kept going through it over and over again to see if they can get a faster time. :p The owner was very nice and he made sure everyone was having a good time. They even got to try out the laser maze which had new carpets and was really cool to see them on the screen outside. A cool feature is you can have the video of them sent to you by email. We came to Monterey for my kids mid-winter break. Kids was dying to try this place out. Love this fun place but customer service was awful. The teenager that was on shift that night was so unfriendly and was on her phone the whole night. She looked like she hated her job. No smile. Unfriendly. I've been here a few times for the mirror maze and the arcade but this time my girlfriend got to come with me so we got the unlimited wristbands. The laser challenge was probably the best of the three attractions that come with the wristband, although it is the one thing that isn't "unlimited" on the wristband (which makes sense from a business view, gotta make that moolah somehow!). I hit second place on the leaderboard for the expert laser challenge at 51.4 seconds! It was alot of fun! Hoping to go again soon! read more

My bf and I had an excellent time trying to get out of the mirror maze. It's $18/person with unlimited tries throughout the day. You get a stamp on your hand to play. You have the option to use paper glasses to go through the maze to make it more difficult. The glasses made me dizzy so I didn't use it. Mirror maze was very impressive, it was pretty big to me bc I was trying to escape it. Or it seems large. There are statues in the mirror walls for some decorations. A cleaning staff was cleaning the mirrors at the time we played which was helpful. Lots of kids and families play in the maze at cannery row, you'll definitely come across kids trying to escape. Popular songs are played through the maze experience. My bf and I escaped the maze within 3min, then we raced each other for the fastest time to escape the maze. Definitely a good experience to try it once, I would like to try their laser games next time. read more

Fun yet short lived. We visited on a Sunday during Labor Day weekend- it was PACKED! I guess that was our fault and affected our experience a bit so I will cut them some slack.. The Maze: The maze itself is well done. I chose to wear the kaleidoscope glasses to make the experience more challenging. I let my 3 year old nephew lead the way and soon enough we were lost! I actually had to take the glasses off after a while to find my way out. The downside: If there are a lot of people in the maze, it basically becomes a "follow the leader" game. Which pretty much sucks- as the whole point of the maze is to feel lost. I wish they would space out the entrance of each group to allow each group to enjoy the experience better. Or maybe I'm just too old and this maze is meant for kids? Lol.. I just got annoyed of the 6-12 year olds RUNNING through the maze over and over and completing it in seconds. Yeah... Maybe I'm just too old and these activities aren't made to please people like me. The upside: *You can go into the maze as many times as you want ALL DAY. Just don't wash off the little stamp on your hand and you're good to go. *There was an employee inside the maze (very well hidden I might add) who was constantly wiping down the mirrors. I super appreciated that since the kiddos kept face planting into them. *I jokingly sulked about how my nephews barely missed the "kids" age range and had to be charged as adults and the cashier was like "Oh no problem we can give them the discount". And I was like :O really really?? Lol so that was nice *They have a laser maze/ mirror maze combo to save you money *For anyone who doesn't want to participate, there are a few seats outside the maze where you can wait. Or - there are TONS of little shops and restaurants to browse. Just be aware that the maze might not take too much time. No other way to put it but a tourist trap. Kids will see this place and really want to go in and try it out; parents can't say no since chances are, they're on vacation. My buddy and I figured we'd give the Mission Impossible laser challenge a shot. For 2 rounds of 2 player games, It cost $12. You'd expect a fairly large room and a decent challenge. You put the coins in outside the room and walk through a curtain into the game room itself. If you go into the room too fast, you'll probably run into a laser and lose the game. Girl at the front recommended medium which was a joke. Even the most challenging level they had was easy and we were probably out in 5 minutes or so. read more

This place caught our attention while walking down Cannery Row. $9.00 for 3 tokens. 1 token for each attempt to get across a room of lasers. You race against the clock. Every time you hit a laser, an alarm sounds and 30 seconds is added to your time. The Mission Impossible in me made us do it. Select kid level to expert and get ready to go. My wife and I came here over the weekend to try out his maze and it was incredible! The maze is quite lengthy and was really designed well. There are multiple locations in the maze where you are looking forward and seeing your own back! Totally discombobulating but very cool. The music and lights add an interesting effect also. Buyer beware. I did the laser dodge and break activity but I felt I could not participate at all in the activity. I expected the lasers to be quite visible like strings. Instead they were almost invisible. I knew I should have been suspicious. To participate in the activity, I needed to buy a package of 3 tokens for 9 dollars. This is obviously a tactic to extract value from a deficient side activity. When I expressed my disapproval and tried to refund my last token, they said it was non-refundable. The cashier was also very non-receptive. She kept looking at her phone and was very dismissive of my concerns. I believe they were more visible for previous challenges but perhaps I was mistaken. Regardless, I find the activity quite disappointing, and the customer service deficient. My experience will stick in my mind as a sore point and I would neither recommend nor repeat the experience. read more

Cheap and quick fun! I think we paid $24 for 2 people? They give you special paper glasses or 3D glasses that make the maze more fun. Made it out in 10 minutes or so. Tips: + No food inside, and probably for a good reason. Has to gobble my ice cream fassst. + You can come back again and again before closing time! read more
