Our instructor, Valerie Taylor, was beyond excellent: personable, energetic, engaging, extremely knowledgeable. While the course was structured with hands-on work, Valerie took the time to assure that she taught us to the correct level for our experience with humor, real-world examples, dozens of helpful hints/tips that were not part of the course work; she's clearly atop her game. We started promptly at 8:30, ended just at 4:25. Definitely worth the time invested!

Each time, the staff blew me away with their kindness, and the courses equipped me with powerful tools to do my job more effectively. My online live instructors were extremely knowledgeable in their subjects and were patient with me when I didn't understand part of the lesson. The online learning environment was intuitive and an easy way to learn new material with plenty of opportunities to watch examples, practice on your own, and ask questions. Valerie was my Power Hour instructor and I was very impressed with her seamless instruction - in just an hour she was able to instruct us on the basics of using PivotCharts to summarize large sets of data. As a data analyst, this power hour and my three online courses (SQL: Fundamentals, SQL: Advanced, and Excel PowerPivot) have been invaluable to the efficiency of my work and the growth of my skill set.

EVERYONES' 'dish' was a flop, with exception, of two participants* that were later Sweet-hearted @ the end of class. I suspect, they're repeat students (Josh & the couple to his left, that had a fire earlier in the class.) They were the only one's given thee*ONE successful pan of baked items (that survived the over- loaded oven.) The ladies, to my right, celebrating a birthday, were friendly, laughing hysterically, wiping tears & taking photos saying "Three hours for this" (holding up their unrecognizable baked item as if to say 'all this- for this!') They were the highlight of my evening, as they summed it up best.

While Chef Nick was knowledgeable and the cooking portion of the class was enjoyable, the entire…read moreexperience was completely overshadowed by the unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior of the owners--particularly the female co-owner. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the business is run by a husband and wife team. From the moment we arrived, the female owner's rude, hostile, and dismissive attitude set a negative tone. Despite following their instructions to arrive early, we were told we couldn't wait inside, and it was hot out! We completed the required waivers in advance as recommended, but we were met with annoyance instead of appreciation--almost as if our preparedness was an inconvenience. We made every effort to remain friendly, polite, and respectful, but her dismissive, cold and abrasive demeanor persisted to the point that we genuinely considered walking out before the class even began. What could have been a fun and memorable evening was completely derailed by her unprofessional conduct. We tried to make small talk, and I have a high tolerance for rudeness, but this was to a scale that I have never encountered. There were roughly 10 couples in the class, and as we began interacting with others, it quickly became clear that we weren't alone in our experience. Several guests shared similar complaints about her attitude and lack of courtesy. It wasn't just a bad day or a misunderstanding--this is a pattern. In addition to the customer service issues, the structure of the class itself was disappointing. We signed up expecting a hands-on cooking experience. While we were allowed to assist with some small tasks, the majority of the cooking was done by the chef. The setup seemed more geared toward encouraging guests to purchase additional drinks (which are not included) and to socialize, rather than actually teaching any meaningful culinary skills. Although we enjoyed the meal and met new people, I don't believe anyone left with the knowledge or confidence to recreate the dishes at home. While I understand that this format may help keep the evening on schedule, it wasn't what I paid for or hoped to experience. Given the premium price of the class, we expected a welcoming, professionally run event. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, disrespected and disappointed. I would not attend again, and I strongly discourage others from signing up until the owners--particularly the female co-owner--reevaluate how they engage with their guests or sell it to someone with people skills.

After my experience here, I want to open a franchise of my own one day soon! I am not exactly reflective of a typical student either - I'm in my mid 30s, where this school is clearly aimed at much younger students. Please don't be fooled though, it's not just for kids! If you've always wanted to learn an instrument, this is the place! If you're competent, but want to get better, guess what? They have you COVERED, my brother/sister of melting faces with godly rock. Let me tell you a little story, if you're entranced enough to absorb my words. When I started my tutelage at the Knoxville School of Rock, I was already fairly experienced - as I had been playing guitar, and playing it relatively well for 16 years, give or take a year. I have jammed with dozens of bands, recorded albums, played shows, and even zealously followed true masters of the instrument(guitar) like Buckethead, Richie Blackmore, Zakk Wylde, Joe Satriani, Steve Howe, and Yngwie Malmsteen. However, after all of my skill and experience, I managed to hit a wall. I was in a stylistic/creative and musical rut that I hadn't been able to break out of for years. Within a week or two, I was out of the rut, and I developed better abilities far faster than I had on my own while I was a student. That said, if you're into Nicki Minaj, or something similar, you'll be living your best life. Or whatever they say. If you dig Rush, Priest, and the Scorpions, you'll be living after midnight! Blues or jazz more your scene? You're all set. School of Rock paired me up with not one, but two highly competent teachers of a PERFECT skill level after talking with me on the phone for about ten minutes, if that. There is an unbelievable amount of skill and care taken in student placement, no matter your experience. As an aside for the parents who may be reading, the middle-school aged kids that had their own organized band practice sounded better than about 95% of the semi-professional bands that I have played in, so it's clear that the program works. Bottom line, if you're starting out, have kids, or have played live for years but want to get better, this is a company that cares, and they're worth the investment! Speaking of investment, the first lesson is free, so you know it's good stuff! :)

The inside is pretty clean and continuously rearranged week to week based on planned activities. The speaker they use to play music is not too loud for those out there with sensitives. The staff welcoming you in is nice to greet you in and out, and the experience is typically a pleasant and fun atmosphere. This has been a great way for our ASD level 3 child to have an opportunity to be included and participate when he wants to. The structure here is not as strict as like a "Kidstrong" gym where they're constantly trying to round them back to participate - if they don't want to or are not feeling it, then there is no pressure here...and for this family it is appreciated. The "one person per kid and no more" is pretty strictly enforced, to the point of being called out privately during the session for any newbies that may not know. I was pretty annoyed by the way the instructor I had handled it at the time. If I had known kindly or with a sign that made that more clear then we would have not got in trouble, lol. Anyway, there's a viewing area where you can sit and watch in the distance. My -1 star here is around some of the equipment. I hit my head so hard once trying to keep the kiddo safe that I'm pretty sure it was a mild concussion. So, take it from me, be aware of your surroundings. Not all areas are fully padded up, so don't think this is a "my kid can play and I get a break" experience. Prepare for one of you to be hands-on and active - otherwise, someone is getting hurt at some point. My examples are no covers on some of the hard edges on the windows, and to the equipment involving on the hanging bars near the entrance and viewing rooms. I would definitely recommend a strategy around your attendance based on whether or not school is in session or not - it seems that the number can be quite excessive in attendance at times, so if that is a bother to you or your kiddo then plan accordingly. See you there! At least until we breach wanting to cancel one day - our kiddo loves it so much i think we're here until he's burned out on it.

I have worked with computers and worked on repairing computers since personal computers were first introduced. My problem was I was from out of town and I accidentally dropped my work laptop causing it to malfunction. I needed someone locally who could provide the knowledge and expertise to help me get back up and running or transfer the data from my hard drive to a new laptop. I sent an email to Dan late in the evening explaining my emergency and requesting he call me to see what he could do. He did call me back and offered for me to bring the laptop to his shop in the morning. I did. Dan diagnosed the problem and determined the laptop was unrepairable. He then retrieved the hard drive and together we troubleshot the hard drive until we were able to get access to the data and start the transfer of data to a new laptop I purchased directly from Dan. This process took several hours during which we talked and got to know one another. I was impressed by his knowledge and experience repairing computers and his willingness to sit and work with me through this laptop disaster. I could not have found a better person to help me out.
