Crew worked hard ... was pleased with their efforts. I had asked them to leave the cut branches for firewood AND cut them to 16" approx lengths. Cory said SURE! I've now spent 3 days cutting those branches to 16" myself.... Should have known better than to pay before the job was finished. To add INSULT, Cory borrowed $50 "for gas" when I handed him a check for the job. I told him he could pay me back when he returned the next morning to finish the neighbors job. then the next morning I told him he still owed me $50... Cory and his crew are so incredibly rude! Cory is dishonest in his dealings and is SEVERELY overpriced. They do half hearted work, poor communication...the list goes on. If I could give negative stars I would. Would not recommend. My neighbors used them and would also not recommend. He knocked on my door looking for work and quoted me an astronomical price to prune my trees. I laughed it was so ridiculously high. I told him if he would come down, then I would consider it and he just walked away (he was doing work at my neighbors). I talked to my neighbor, his entire job of 3 trees was less than the price for a SINGLE tree Cory quoted me. I texted Cory a week or 2 later to see if there was room to negotiate, he didn't remember me and wanted to look at the job at my house again. That communication itself was poor. We set a time and when he showed up, he remembered me and my neighbor. He quoted me again, this time half what he originally quoted (he has no set pricing, he makes it up on the spot) still higher than my neighbor. I asked if he would price match and he rolled his eyes and said, "we do a good job for you, we will do this/that, we do good job". We negotiated down, I still felt it was high but wanted to get the trees pruned. I should have just told him no. The job was 2 trees....IT ONLY TOOK ONE GUY 30 MINUTES! His hourly is more than any attorney, plumber, electrician, or car mechanic I have ever hired. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!! He didn't have a ladder so he couldn't get up high to where trimming is needed. He was not thorough. He only used 1 tool. I could have rented the tool at Home Depot and done it myself. He cut the trees and left to do another job and came back to get the branches. The next day, his crew pounded on my door like the police and rang the door bell over and over LIKE A CHILD!!! They didn't even clean up the mess. I spent 45 minutes after they left cleaning up myself. I didn't even bother negotiating with him a 3rd time as his English is poor and negotiating with him is challenging, he acts like it's a total inconvenience. I am so frustrated with this experience and mostly with myself for ignoring all the red flags. Look elsewhere or just rent a cutter yourself. DO NOT USE CORY! He is absolutely no expert. UPDATE: Cory left me a voicemail after I posted this saying "it's not right". What's not right is doing half hearted work. There was no apology, no how can I make this right, how can my crew do better. Instead, he responds on yelp validating my entire complaint. Stating since I only paid him $450 to trim 2 trees, I get shorted in work and service? My job was too small? Excuse me, you knocked on my door looking for work, you were in my neighborhood doing other homes of equivalent size. So, my small job justifies poor communication and being disrespected? Unless I pay more, they won't complete the job and act professionally? I have to pay $5000 to get quality service and respect? When they came the next day, all he said when I opened the door was he was here for payment. I had to ask when they would cleanup, they got what was in the street in under 10 minutes while I quickly put on clothes and brush my teeth (they showed up UNANNOUNCED at 8:30 AM). I didn't even have time to do that and he was already knocking on my door AGAIN wanting payment to leave. He didn't ask how the trees looked, were there any questions or areas of concern, how was the service...NOTHING. Just wanted to get paid. They only take check or cash even though his business card says Venmo. I expressed frustration to the crew at the door TWICE. Cory just said thanks as I gave him the cash. I gave up and shut the door. Thank you Cory, thank you for continuing to act unprofessional and allowing others to see how you conduct your business. I met Cory when he was doing some work at my neighbors house. I had two trees that were a bit over grown and rubbing against my roof. I called around 4pm on a Wednesday and he and his crew were there 30 mins later. They trimmed the trees in about 2 hours and came back the following morning to clean up and shred the branches. Hired them to prune/thin a large tree we have, I let them work on it while I was at work. The seemed to do a really thorough job thinning out the middle area of the tree where they could more easily climb too, but then left the outer edges and top portions basically untouched. Not quite what I had in mind. I think I'll take my chances elsewhere next year when I get it pruned again. They did work quickly and did a good job cleaning up everything they cut. Were very friendly for the few minutes I talked to them. I just wish the final product was a bit more actually thinned and had all the dead branches removed and other branches cut away from my deck and neighbors yard. read more

We've had them trim our pine trees and apple trees. Last year, our apples were the best they've ever been.

Overall I'm happy with the work they did. Looking back on the cost I feel like it was a bit higher than it would have been if I shopped around and did a bit more research. He caught us at a good time, and we hadn't done our trees for a long, long time so we agreed to it. They had a few guys working and got it done that day. He did request payment before they were totally done, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. However, there were a few things we asked them to come back and address the next morning and they came back and finished those up without any issue. I wish I thought about what I really wanted done more before having them do the work, because I would've clarified a few more things with them. Our trees are really tall and I would've asked more about what they would do to trim the tops. They did have a guy climbing up our tall pine trees, but I don't know how much they are really able to trim at the tops without some kind of boom lift. I'm happy with the work they did and our yard feels much nicer, but I think I would've liked to have them done a bit more or maybe worked through pricing with them a little more to be 100% satisfied. read more

Do not hire this company for any pruning or tree removal! I had them remove a large tree that was over hanging my neighbors yard. The business owner agreed Cory Falanai agreed to complete removal and level the trunk off at ground level. On day one the job was not completed, I had to repeatedly contact the business to get them out to finish what was promised. Finally, when they returned their carelessness damage a pond wall and tore a hole in my pond lining. They ignored their damage and to top it off never cut the stump level with the ground. The statement on his card "Quality is my Pride" is laughable. Do not hire this contractor you will regret it. read more

Do not hire these guys. Cory came to my door and asked if we needed any tree trimming. (Should have known better from the start.) He had his kids do the work and he left. The tree in our back yard, where we only wanted dead limbs trimmed out of the tree and some limbs taken out that were hanging over the roof. Instead the son nearly demolished the tree. That tree is one of the things I initially loved about the yard when we first moved in 20 years ago. The shade it provided helped keep our house and yard cool in the hot summers. (It's about 100F in our back yard right now and no shade to be found.) It will take years for this tree to be able to provide us the shade we once enjoyed. My husband had a long talk with Cory and he didn't seem to feel bad. The second day I had to constantly monitor what was done because once again, the kids were just dropped off and Cory left. He told me everything would be cleaned up before they left. The kids were lazy and they constantly asked to use our tools and if they could use an expensive radio my husband accidentally left out. I of course said no. They saw some soda I had in the garage when I had it opened to go in and out and they asked for some. They also asked for some apple juice or orange juice. They also asked if I had any bottles of water. I don't have that stuff around because tap water is cheaper.I gave them some ice water and used the last of the ice in our ice maker and didn't have any left when I wanted to use some. I told them no and that they should call their dad have him bring some water for them when he came back if they didn't want tap water. Not at any time did the kids asked me what I thought of the progress they were making. If they had asked we would have told them to not take as much of the tree out. Anytime I asked one of them to do something they just whined! To a customer, seriously. They did not let me know when they left and there was still a lot of debris that didn't get cleaned up liked I had asked of Cori. They left tools out and did not ask us where we wanted them put back before they left. After dad brought them a case of water bottles I had to clean them up from all over the yard. The garbage cans were right there and they had put their empty McDonalds bags in there but they couldn't be bothered to pick up after themselves other wise. Basically $4, 000 for an awful job. This company did very mediocre work and we were willing to overlook that and learn from our impulse to hire someone going door to door until I went into my guest bathroom today. Cory left two young workers who generally lay on the lawn but frequently asked to use the bathroom and for the occasional snack. My bathroom has feces all over the toilet, the floor, the walls, and the rug. Additionally, my toilet does not function. They showed up on time on a Thurs. to give me the bid to prune 4 trees -one of which was a neighbors tree that over hung my house- I told him i needed to get approval for the cost of the biggest tree since he was paying for half, but the guy pressured me to schedule the work for that Sunday. I was reluctant to have it done then because 1-I work nights and so Id just be coming off a 14 hour shift and that would mean Id get no time to sleep, and 2-I was leaving town for 2 weeks on Monday and still had things I needed to get done before going. He assured me though it would only take a few hours so i agreed and we scheduled it for 8:00 sunday morning. After going through all that and scheduling service it looked like they were going to be a no show. at 9:00 I called but their "office" number was disconnected and the cell wouldn't take messages; well they did show up at 10:00- 2 hours late. Mind you I worked 14hrs the night before and had been awake for 22hrs at this point so I was already beyond annoyed that they couldn't have at least called to say they were running late. The crew consisted of the father and his 3 sons, and only the eldest son was wearing a mask. All of them looked like they had just rolled out of bed and/or hung over and none looked like they wanted to be there. The father apologized stating they had a soccer game the night before. They got to work with the middle boy climbing up the biggest tree. The oldest boy started to move stuff that might get damaged but the Father stopped him from moving a string of lights-and yes bulbs got broken- As they were moving the cut limbs out they drug them across an out door rug snagging and ripping it to shreds; across plants breaking them off at the ground, and through my gate tearing off a garden art piece and damaging it. I had to tell them twice to be more careful and to be mindful of the plants that they kept walking on. They had piled a huge pile of debris approx. 4'x6'x20' in my front yard again not minding of what they piling on top of & damaging more plants, causing large depressions and breaking a sparkler head as the dropped large logs. They got 2 small trees trimmed & half of the 3rd (not even touching the 4th) in about 3 hours time and then told me they were going to leave to go to the lake and come back later in the week to finish, and by the way could I pay them now.... OH HELL NO! I explained that in no way would I pay them for a job unfinished and that it was unacceptable for them to leave mid way and to leave the mess. He tried to say that the dump was closed on Sunday (untrue) and that he didn't bring his chipper. Not sure why they didn't think to bring it to begin with, but honestly I think they had to go rent one. I told him to go get his chipper and that I expected the job to be completed that day, no exception. He took the middle boy and 1.5 hours later returned with a chipper. He then told me he forgot the key to the chipper and again stated that they were going to join their church group at the lake and that they would just come back tomorrow to finish. I again reminded him that I would be leaving town and so that was not possible and that because he pressured me to schedule for that day I expected him to finish the job. So he and the middle son left again and came back 1.5 hours later with the Key to the chipper. Meanwhile the eldest boy (who was by far the hardest working and most professional out of the whole lot) finished the large tree and had just stared on the last tree when the father returned and had him stop to help feed the chipper. Once they cleared up the pile they half ass cleaned up the rest of the debris and asked if they were done. At this point I had been up 30 hours and had a massive headache so I said fine and paid them. then they asked for a 5star review-uh NO! A few days later My Neighbor told my house sitter that they had left a bunch of logs and debris in his yard along with 2 of their chainsaws! I again tried to call these guys -and still no working number- so I could only get a message to them through yelp to tell them they needed to go clean up their mess, which they eventually did 5 days later (& after 2 rainstorms that their chainsaws sat out in) when I returned home there was still 1 large branch hanging up in the hedge and I also realized the 4th tree never got finished so I had to have them out for a 3rd time to finish the job. AGAIN they were late first stating they would come in the morning (no time given this time) but didn't show up until 5pm, and After ALL that the Father AGAIN asked me for a 5 star review and again I said NO! Completely feel taken advantage of. I got a quote a few months ago, reached back out and was told the quote was still good. We scheduled a day, but I had no idea what time they were coming and couldn't get an answer as to when. They showed up in a basic truck, no wood chipper. Told me the cost was going to be an additional $500. After and hour and a half they said they had trimmed 1 tree and took down the one they said was "dying". Said they would come back sometime tomorrow. I get home and my yard is TRASHED. My 50 year old lilac bush is ruined from the limbs falling, my pine tree next to the tree they cut has limbs dangling from their carelessness. Broke my garage window. Huge hazard to my kids and dogs. The tree in the front has only a couple branches down, they left that mess all over too. Apparently two brothers have different tree trimming companies and they share customers?
