I was hoping to receive a few quotes from different local tree people as I have a large amount of older trees that need some pruning. After getting in touch with several here on Yelp, I contacted A Swedin Tree Expert, since they were local, and had great reviews. Unfortunately, Jim stopped by unannounced when I was at work. He left his card at my door, so I contacted him and said that I would be happy to meet him, if he can just let me know when he wants to come. He came a second time unplanned, and I was not home either. I emailed him and let him know that I am happy to meet him, but I need to make a time to meet, so I can be sure to be here. Jim did a really good job trimming my ornamental pear tree...he has very fair pricing and I highly recommend his work.

We have have hired tree work for more than 35 years. Since we met Mr. Swedin, we call on no one else for tree service. He explains what needs to be done with a tree, and why. He also points our what should be avoided and why. We have learned to trust his judgment and his reliability Our most recent job was for thinning seven of our nine trees, including two fruit trees that needed pruning for productivity. We were gone when he did the work, but he had arranged to come back and explain what he had done and bill us for the work. The bill, as always, was quite reasonable. Mr. Swedin may see himself as serving the trees, and not their owners. I know that I like my trees better after he as worked on them. read more

Jim Swedin was very quick to help me out with an emergency. During a wind storm, a very large limb fell off of an elm tree barely missing a child who had just gone into the house. Jim came out that same day and gave me a quote to remove that limb and another limb that was precariously perched over the patio and house. He was able to shift things around in his schedule to remove both very large limbs the next day. I can't begin to thank him enough.
