I'm surprised to see the negative reviews. I've never had a problem with communication from the staff at Tree Tech. We have used them twice for removal and referred them to many others who were pleased with the service, quality, professionalism and value! In the fall of 2016 I started making calls to the well known local tree companies in the Mooresville area. Multiples messages left on voicemail with not 1 returned call. As the weather turned to winter I finally scheduled estimates with 2. Only 1 showed up. I scheduled the job with them but they cancelled 2 times without ever calling to reschedule; I had to chase them down. By this time it was late winter 2017 and the owner of that larger local companies told me the reason I couldn't find anyone is because they were all busy in Charlotte cleaning up after a big storm. I finally found Tree Tech - and I wish I called them first!! They called me right back, scheduled a proposal, showed up on time, I accepted the proposal and they executed it flawlessly. I referred them to 2 neighbors and many others who have yet to have any problem!! Let's face when dealing with a service business there are many variables to contend with. Weather and ground conditions and the safety of the crew and protecting personal property are critical to the execution of their job. So I for one are less concerned about them having an off day with the schedule or returning phone calls. Why?? Because I know they are all on a job giving a customer their undivided attention; which is what I expect when they are executing my job! I say be nice and give them a break! They will be appreciative and go the extra mile to do your job right!! That to me is more important then a little bit of confusion about the schedule. Have a nice day!! read more

Terrible company. I expressed my concerns, got a quote, and scheduled the service. The workers came to my house unannounced and let themselves into my backyard to perform a tree assessment. Mind you their truck and clothing had no company name or logo on it so all I knew was there were strangers trespassing in my backyard. It got to the point where our neighbors were calling us letting us know there were random guys in our backyard when we weren't home. After they then came back at a later date again unannounced to complete the job, my husband and I both noticed hardly any tree limbs were cut. Greg came back to our property to convince us the remaining limbs would not be a problem. Well lo and behold less than a month later a large tree limb fell off and hit our house. Thank God my kids were not outside playing or else this would be an entirely different conversation. Called the company to schedule them to come back, like Greg promised he would if we were unhappy, and it has been over a month of no contact, ignoring texts, and not receiving any communication besides the automated AI robot. If I could warn everyone against hiring this company I would. Again, my kids could have been playing outside like they always are and this tree limb could have landed on one of them. I asked for limb removal so it wouldn't land on my house and that's exactly what happened after paying for this job that obviously was not properly complete. read more

UNRELIABLE! Called, scheduled and confirmed service in the morning. Talked 2 more times through the day to confirm that they were still coming - right up until 10 minutes before 5:00 PM we talked and confirmed that they were still coming. Darkness came. No show. No phone call. Left 2 messages on their answering service. No return call. Now, 4 days later, STILL not a return call. No apology. No reason. No excuse. Just complete irresponsibility, lack of communication, lack of common courtesy and just plain BAD BUSINESS. Do not bother to call Tree Tech and absolutely do not count on them - even if they tell you they are coming (multiple times). Do not trust them. And other reviews back this up as an endemic problem and practice. read more

Absolutely the most horrible experience dealing with a service provider I have ever experienced. This "company" lives in a world of alternative facts, unreturned calls, out right lies and bait and switch. When dealing with trying to get them to respond to my calls, the office staff even said that they had no idea what was going on with management and could do nothing to get them to respond. They ended up not finishing a job they started and I made one call, had another company out and they completed the work within a couple of days, as opposed to the almost year that I gave these "business" people to try and complete the work they promised. When you call them you get an answering machine that espouses that your call is important to them, That is a lie. It clearly is not as they do not return multiple calls. I really hate to see companies prey on people like this. If you need a tree removed, you'd be better off tying a rope to the tree, and the other end to your car and stepping on the gas. I was extremely pleased with this company. Had to take down 9 diseased leyland cypress trees over 20' each from hill in back yard. They did it in less than 5 hours at a very reasonable price and included chipping and cleaning up yard and street. In addition we have roses and crepe myrtles near them and had minimal damage. Incredible job and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend. read more

We lost a large maple tree to tropical storm Zeta, and after getting several quotes, decided on Tree Tech Tree Service to finish removal of the downed part as well as the rest of the tree. Not only was their price very fair, their response to my calls and emails was fast. Greg and his crew came out exactly on the day and time they had scheduled, and did a great job removing the entire tree, grinding the stump, and cleaning up after themselves, all very quickly. read more

Actually the work was not completed. The tree was not removed from my backyard and the stump was never Quieted down as it was discussed and in the contract. Wish I had read some of these reviews before we accepted a quote from Tree Tech. We were on the schedule for our trees to be trimmed this past Wednesday afternoon; we sat home waiting from 2:00 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. They called at 5:15 to tell us that they were now coming Thursday afternoon again between 2:00 and 5:00. On Thursday, when they had not shown by 4:15, I called to see if they were still coming as we had a chance to meet some out-of-town friends for a drink at 5:00. Yes, they were still coming and would be at our house between 5:30 and 6:00. So we sat home and waited. At 6:15, they called to say they would not be coming on Thursday after all, but would be at house by 11:00 a.m. on Friday. It is now Friday, after 1:30 p.m., and we are still waiting. I was told two hours ago that they were "a half an hour away" from being at our house. They finally arrived around 3:00. While the communications process on the front end was very poor, the tree technicians are very effective and efficient. The trimming was satisfactory and they did a thorough clean up afterwards. Had used Tree Tech years ago and was 100% satisfied...did fabulous work and very professional. Decided to use them again this year and was extremely dissatisfied, Since Dad has left and kids took over it has affected the job performance. When a husband and wife work together, and are not in agreement about which way things should be done, it creates an unfavorable working environment and communication gets missed. Also, not as reliable as in the past. On the up side,however, their workers are very professional. Office person was rude and didn't seem to know the bill had already been paid. I had a very large double trunk oak tree, close to the power company power lines that had started to have some large limbs fall. Tree Tech brought their team, including a large crane, and in three hours had the tree down, loaded on their trucks, cleaned up left. It was amazing to see how skillfully they worked. Did a great job. read more

Great service, great crew and work efficiently. They do what they say they are going to do. I was quite amazed they brought down are large elm surrounded by several smaller trees and didn't damage anything. Would be happy to call them back. read more

We've used several tree companies in the Lake Norman area over the years to remove trees, but our experience with Tree Tech was one of the worst. Despite their professional appearance during the marketing phase of a project, their execution is lacking. They failed to arrive when they said they would, and our only notice that they were coming on a later date was a phone call at 8:00 am saying that the crew was on its way! They apparently under estimated our job and starting taking short cuts. There is usually some minor damage when trees are removed, such as ruts in the yard or broken branches on surrounding shrubs, but they did much worse. And rather than work with us on the cost of repairs (we even offered to split the cost with them), they refused to acknowledge anything even though we saw them do it. And once they felt they were finished, they jumped in their trucks and left -- no knock on the door to review the work and confirm we were happy with their job. Rather we received an almost immediate phone call from the office wanting payment ASAP. If you decide to use this company, be sure to take photos of all surrounding property -- otherwise you'll be out of luck getting them to fix any damage. And ensure you have flexibility on your schedule because they will invariably fail to show up on time. read more

No communication. Scheduled day came and went with no call from them. I had to call them and was told an emergency came up....ok, but tell me. Three more days go by of me calling them and being told the crew would be out later that day....never happened. I gave up and called another company. Ignoring me as a customer will not happen for long. Unacceptable customer service when I'm willing to pay large amounts of money for many trees over the next year....no way can I give this company any of my money. read more

This company is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever attempted to do business with. They gave me an estimate which was emailed to me for the removal of a large oak tree in my front yard. The estimate never mentioned what type of equipment they would need to complete the job. They were planning on using a crane, but Duke Energy wouldn't shut off overhead power lines over the tree so their crane operator said he would not work over live lines. They then changed their price from $3600 to $6800, almost double the original estimate. I tried to get them to meet me in the middle but they dragged their feet and wouldn't give me an answer. Every time I emailed Robin I got another excuse for why they don't have an answer. Finally after we told them that we were going to leave bad reviews and report them to the BBB did she email me to tell me they won't be doing the work. It took over 3 months from the original estimate for her to say that. I wasted so much of my time waiting on them to get something done. I often had to chase them down when weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything. Extremely unprofessional. Just a sad company to do business with. I guess they can only take down easy trees. I'm actually glad they refused to remove the tree bc I have since found somebody to do it much cheaper. Don't do business with this company. Consider yourself warned. There is a reason they have such bad reviews. read more
