Review: Warning Against Collier Tree Farms and Treetop Services and Gordon Young: I had a very disappointing experience with Treetop Services & Collier Tree Farms AND Gordon Young that I feel compelled to share to warn other customers. Job Overview: I signed a contract in October 2024 for a job worth roughly $9,000, which was supposed to be completed by Spring 2025. The contractor suggested adding another tree due to safety concerns, but my neighbor was unhelpful regarding the cost of the tree on the property line. I decided not to go ahead with that tree... We had no contract for it anyway. he had NO PROBLEM cashing my check for 3k... Every machine he had was broken at some point in time and sat on my property either in my front yard or in my back yard for extended periods of time. He truck broke, his grinders broke... as a small business owner I had no problem at all giving him grace for these issues as I know equipment is not an easy thing to manage.. Payment Issues: I decided to use the funds he requested for that additional tree (without a contract) toward the original $9,000 job. Unfinished Work: As of today, February 18, 2026, the job remains incomplete. He has failed to: Grind the stumps Cut down the remaining trees he promised to remove Complete any backfilling or reseeding work Poor Communication: Instead of taking responsibility, he told me that I "screwed him over," which is completely unprofessional. Financial Loss: I'm out $2,500 due to this experience. Given the unfulfilled promises and lack of accountability, I strongly advise against using Collier Tree Farms, Treetop Services and stay away from Gordon Young. If you're in the Akron area, I recommend looking elsewhere for your Christmas tree needs-- Conclusion: Save yourself the frustration and financial loss by choosing a more reliable service. read more

This guy is a total joker! over promised- under performed. He doesn't show up for days and no contact. we had to keep nagging him to finish the job and finally we had to cut him off. He threatened and cursed us and he says he's a Christian minister! WOW! Totally unprofessional and a piece of work. Avoid a big mistake and find another person to do the job. read more

I had a tree in my yard that had bore ash infestation and needed to come down. Because of how close the tree was to my home, other companies were quoting me exceedingly expensive take down costs. Around 1.5-2k. These guys promised to do it for $500. When I got the money together and called them out, suddenly it became $600. Because that was still by far and away the best price I had, I still went with them, but it was a 20% increase over the quoted price. Not only that but they left a HUGE stump. I asked them to get it smaller and they refused saying that when I could afford the stump removal they "promised" to remove it for a flat $100 rate regardless of how big it is because they're the ones cutting corners now because their equipment failed. Well fast forward past the winter, spring time rolls around I call them, they check their records and confirm the $100 price point, say they'll be by "soon". I wait in my house all day expecting them to show up, they never did. I wait 4 days and call to narrow down an eta and Am told that the price will be more (how much more he couldn't/wouldn't say) and that they're refusing to do the job for the quoted price! I told Gordon that this was a bit frustrating because they did this to me last time too, I remind him of how we had a contract saying he would remove it for $100, how he left me with a massive stump others will charge excessively to remove, a stump I asked him at the time of tree removal to make smaller and how he refused at that time BECAUSE of the fixed stump removal price and now I feel dooped. I feel like He left that stump that size on purpose so that I would have no other reasonable choice than to use him again and he could increase the price from what we agreed on. He told me, and I quote "well if it makes you so uncomfortable then how about we skip the discomfort and you call someone else to handle it", and he hung up on me!!!! I have 2 stars instead of one because their price IS the best, but be prepared for a 20% mark up from what they quote you, be prepared for them to change the contract after you have an agreement, and be prepared for them to be excessively rude when you call them out in it! read more
