We had a bit of a blip, but they did their best to make everything work out. Lee the manager was outstanding. He was anticipatory kind, empathetic, and so well organized. I would recommend this highly to anybody, but I'm kind of afraid because I wanna bring my family back here. And I'm afraid to say that it was too wonderful because that I might not be able to get this wonderful room again just joking. It was really great and well worth it so reasonable so wonderful.

We were greeted by one of the managers when we arrived who made us feel welcome. While there is not daily housekeeping, we had more than enough towels (and coffee pods!) for our three night stay. There was a fire through this area back in 2016. There is no sign of the fire in the remaining lodge building. Off to the side, up a hill, are the foundations of former their lodge buildings and restaurant. The view to the south includes some burned trees in the distance, but I found that it didn't take away from the ambiance. Due to the fire, the does lodge have a more remote feeling due to the lack of telephone, cable, or internet. We didn't miss any of these, and we had reasonable cell phone reception. I look forward to seeing the lodge thrive again and wish the owners the best in their continued renewal.

It's unfortunate what happened with the fires back in 2016 but the business keeps on pushing through. They still have a decent amount of amenities even without the other spaces they had offered before the fires. The rooms are a decent size, especially for two people. They offer a full sized kitchen which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every night. The balcony is cute & have great views of mt leconte. The bed was comfy & everything was clean. They had plush robes in the closet which were super comfy & great to put on after a hot bath in the spa tub in the bathroom. They also maintain hiking trails right by the lodge & they had a nice set up by the creek, there was a bathroom down there & a fire pit and lots of chairs set up. The lodge is only a mile up the road from downtown & the national park entrance so it's in close proximity to alot of great things. The only issue we ran into was not enough parking but we made it work. Overall had a great experience here & would definitely stay here again.

Even had a workspace if you were working while you were supposed to be on vacation. Amenities included shuttle to and from the park. Pool and Spa (didn't partake). Went to the bar/restaurant - see other review and an on site convenience store. Free parking. I'm sure there are more but that's just all that comes to mind because we were for the park. That's also in another review. Anyway - to sum it up, it's not quite a luxury resort - but a place that offers heartfelt comfort wrapped in Southern Hospitality. Country Cascades Waterpark Resort is an extremely family-friendly hotel in Pigeon Forge. From the moment we checked in until we left, we were surrounded by friendly people who made sure my family was comfortable and had lots of fun. This hotel has themed suites for families! We stayed in one of their treehouse suites, which has two sets of themed twin bunk beds, as well as a king-sized bed in the main sleeping area. The twin bunk bed area had night lights and a TV in the treehouse nook. My kids were delighted to find a treasure hunt inside our room: a safe full of goodies that they could only unlock once they found all of the clues around the room. We probably could have spent the whole day just having fun inside Country Cascades, even without the waterpark. Inside the resort, there is a bowling alley, arcade, rock climbing wall, gemstone mining, and a gift shop where you can build your own stuffed animal. Kids' activities happen throughout the day, so there's always something to participate in. Plus, the hotel has its own ice cream parlor, pizza restaurant, candy and popcorn shop, coffee shop and breakfast restaurant. Not to mention the waterpark, when you visit during the summer months. Country Cascades is an all-in-one place to stay and play. Country Cascades has its own breakfast restaurant in-house called Granny Cluckets. There's no menu -- instead, the restaurant serves a "family-style" all-you-care-to-eat breakfast skillet, and the table shares all of the food. You're served a big skillet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, country potatoes, waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Orange juice, water and coffee are also part of the breakfast. One serving is a lot of food for a family of four, but if you're very hungry, you can ask for more and they will give you more. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant each morning, and we all agreed that it was a good breakfast. The room was very clean, and although they don't do a full room service, they do take out the trash and replace your towels each day without you having to ask. The one thing that was irksome is that the gym in the hotel is just a treadmill, a stationary bike, and a weight machine. It's very small, and also, they don't allow access to the gym until 7 a.m. That's late for a person like me who needs to rise and grind before her family wakes up! Oh well. I made do, but it would have been nice to at least have an elliptical and 24-hour access.

This was…read morewhere we spent our honeymoon (well Gburg actually - in an old run down cabin that wasn't theirs). I don't even know if this place was around then. That was 41 years ago but we spent time up here for our 40th anniversary this year - using them exclusively since we found them about 20 years ago. I think the ownership went thru change since we've been coming here but we exclusively and use them at least 3-4 times a year. Their special for last minute trips is incredible. After 20 years, 3-4 times a year (so we've stayed in most of them), each one has always been clean as a whistle. We have figured that we have stayed with them over 60 trips. At least. We've never stayed with anyone else the past 20 years! Our favorite place is at the top of the mountain at the water tower. However three of the four we always stayed at and liked the best, all but one was burned down in the Gatlinburg Fire of 2016. It burned down to their concrete footprint. They finally got one of them rebuilt and just opened back up so we are leaving Friday to go there. It's at the very top of the mountain and you can see for miles and miles. Yet it is only 5 min from the Parkway, behind Dollywood. You would think a cabin on the to of the mountain with its incredible view would be miles from the Parkway but it's only a short 5-8 minutes. I can never praise their staff enough. They are awesome people to work with. Some of our favorite restaurants we never miss are the Applewood for bfast, Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade ( this is awesome and relatively new and great to go because there is a Crumbl and Ice Cream shop next door that are for that sweet tooth we always seem to get worse up there), Chop House, Cherokee Grill (Gburg), Ogles Farmers Kitchen ( I think this is the name. It right close to going in for Applewood. We've just recently found this and have been multiple times), The Pottery Barn Cafe is usually our first place we hit coming into town. There is also Paula Deens, Chop House, and Johnny Carino's. This is just for starters. Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

The location is close to Smokey Mountain park. We stayed for a wedding that was happening offsite. Since we arrived later than planned, we were not pressured for a timeshare presentation. Check-in was rushed. We had not stayed at Westgate prior and were not told the rooms were not serviced by housekeeping so that was a surprise. We were told there would be parking in front of our building but there wasn't any. The most serious flaw is the lack of ada enabled and ground entry rooms. Our building, which they called a cabin was a three level walk up, not senior or disability friendly at all. The booking site does not address this. You share an entryway with another room with a washing machine in between. Thankfully our neighbors were quiet. We were told at check in the restaurant closes at 9pm and when we called the front desk and asked if the bar had food, they said no. Again this was not true the bar has food until 10pm. The coffee does not open until 9am! Pizza can be delivered until 9:45. The room was cramped. It says sleeps four but that's two people on the small pull out. The room was clean. The tv was pretty bad, colors were off. The coffee pot was cheap and leaked. The lower level pool bathrooms were out of service for 3 or 4 days. This is just too long to be acceptable. The other pools were super packed. The shuttle bus drivers were super helpful with information and dropping us at our building. Maintenance workers were friendly as well.

At the time of purchase, however, the benefits and promises presented made those risks feel reasonable. Unfortunately, our recent experiences have made it clear that those expectations are not being met. The condition of our room was unacceptable. We encountered dead bugs, hair in the sink, fingerprints covering the mirror, a broken fan, a broken closet door and overall filth . Even more concerning was the overwhelming smell of marijuana and cigarettes in what is advertised as a non-smoking facility. When we brought these issues forward, the response we received was not only unhelpful, but unprofessional. An employee named Brad Reed was dismissive, condescending, and openly sarcastic, at one point stating, "Well apparently we won't ever see you again." Rather than addressing the situation, we were told the resort was completely full and that the only option was to send housekeeping. In the same conversation, we were also told that purchasing an upgraded room would "ensure we wouldn't have any more problems." The implication was difficult to ignore. After declining to spend additional money, our concerns were effectively dismissed. However, when we escalated the situation to a front desk manager, we were immediately moved to another room without issue, directly contradicting what we were told about availability. This raises serious concerns about how guest issues are handled. It appears that responsiveness may depend less on the validity of the concern and more on a willingness to spend more money. This experience reflects poorly not only on the condition of the property, but on the integrity of the service model. Cleanliness, honesty, and basic professionalism should not be conditional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this resort. Travelers should carefully consider other options in the area that prioritize transparency, accountability, and guest care.

If spotting wildlife is on your Smoky Mountain bucket list, this hotel may save you a trip into the national park. And if that bear gets a little too curious, you're already safely inside. The location is one of the best in Gatlinburg. It's right in the heart of town, yet tucked away on River Road, just far enough from the Parkway to avoid much of the noise and chaos. You can walk to everything and still feel like you've escaped the crowds. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. But what keeps bringing us back is the staff. Hospitality is one of those things that's easy to advertise and harder to deliver. These folks deliver it. Everyone we've encountered has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making guests feel at home. We've stayed here three years in a row. And we're already planning year four. In the hotel business, that's about the strongest recommendation I can give.

Pros: * Location - short walking distance to some of the best restaurants ever. * Parking lot is fine - easy to get in/out * Really nice hotel staff * Easy self-checkout for drink/snack purchases in the lobby. You can pay via card or charge to your room. * Very clean lobby restroom Cons * NEW - they now charge a $45 self-parking fee per stay. We found this out when we got our receipt upon checking out * Bathtub/shower drain was so slow, you stood in 3-4 inches of water every shower * Shower curtain was too short so you had to direct the shower head towards the shower wall and away from the middle, otherwise you'd soak the floor * Weird moldy looking stain on comforter * Motion sensor on thermostat, so at night it would become unbearably hot while we slept. Only when we got up did the AC kick back on. They also have a breakfast but I can't understand why anyone would eat hotel breakfast when some of the best breakfast restaurants are within a short walking distance. So no comment on that, because we didn't even bother. I don't know, it just seemed like adding insult to injury when we saw the $45 self-parking fee after the room issues we had. We'll probably look elsewhere for our next Gatlinburg stay.
