My wife and I recently stayed at Parkside for a three day weekend culminating in an on-location wedding event. The facility itself was exactly what we expected it to be - a rustic lodge overlooking some beautiful mountain views. The wedding definitely turned out to be memorable, and that is the important thing! The only "challenge" with this venue is the next-door neighbors, who clearly have issues living in proximity to a commercial resort. This was made evident by the posted signs viewable from the rear balconies whereby the neighbors indicated something about the need for guests to keep noise down and be respectful because people live here, etc. Well ... these same neighbors were plainly resentful of the fact that normal party music was played at the wedding reception (music that properly ended at 10:30 pm) and were intent on underscoring the point by BLARING loud outdoor radio music until 2:30 AM and then starting up again at 5:30 AM so as to disturb the guests' ability to sleep. Needless to say, my wife and I were happy to leave this establishment bright and early the next morning. I get it, and it should come to no one's surprise, there are a few "Hatfield and McCoy"-types up in 'dem 'der hills. However, I do believe the resort has some obligation to deal with this problem in a meaningful way, for the benefit of all prospective guests. read more

This resort is truly amazing with many amenities that suit people of all ages The custom designed cabins are gorgeous. Everything is here for one to enjoy weather for a few days, a weekend or a week The staff at Parkside are knowledgeable and so kind and professional especially to Brandy This resort is close to Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge and just a short ride to Cades Cove. We did nine nights here and for the most part we like it. They are building more houses in the neighborhood so "bang bang" good morning but that doesn't bother me too much. Cabin is very clean but the washing machine is broken and was supposed to be fixed but nope. Could have used some towel cleaning since we are staying 9 days, still have some days to go so we will see. The hot tub is super fresh and clean and it has a Tv too, that's a big yes for me! My only problem is the kitchen. It's horrible... the worst appliances I ever used (ok almost). The knives are a joke, I can't cut anything, oh wait doesn't matter there is no cutting board. No extra paper towels or trash bags. Fine but you could have told us... the faucet comes loose every time you turn the water on and half of the cabinets need to be re-hinged. When cooking for 9 people the kitchen is kind of important. They have a pool and "game room" and a mini grill open on the property, it's not really for me but I could see people liking it. Cabin is supposed to have parking for 5 cars but that must be very small cars, I would say 4. The views are amazing and you are very close to the happenings. Dollywood is 20 mins away. read more

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Parkside Resort. Our party of four stayed in Grin Inn Bear It for six nights during spring break. PF and Gatlinburg were absolutely slammed so we spent the majority of our time at our cabin. We never got cabin-fever and didn't want to leave! We cooked great meals in the fully stocked kitchen. The knives were sufficient unlike most rentals! The gas grill worked beautifully. The beds were quite comfortable, but I recommend bringing your own pillows to be sure you have the comfort you like. Smart TVs abound and were all used with ease. WiFi was strong even when ATT signal was not. Hot tub has a tv over it. Outdoor fireplace has a tv over it. Both were enjoyed!! We brought blankets to use on the porch - pro tip! Seating is only adequately comfortable and not abundant. HVAC worked well - upstairs and downstairs have separate units. Location is GREAT! Multiple ways to get to the parkway quickly but you are off the beaten path so no traffic noise. Some cabins have gorgeous views. Ours was a lovely private wooded view with beautiful sunsets. On property putt putt golf is free and kind of hilarious. The course is NOT well maintained so you're guaranteed to lose your ball at some point. But we had a blast playing all 18 holes completely alone - which was amazing because no one was waiting for us to finish our hole OR scowling at our child for using 11 strokes on a par 2. Indoor pool looked wonderful although we didn't test it out. We can't wait to come back here and relax! Absolutely love this resort. Hands down the best one I've been to in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. Cabins are clean, nicely set up with internet, cable, most have a theater, jacuzzi, etc. Reserving was easy and staff was very helpful. We had trouble getting the audio going in the theatre room and maintenance was able resolve within 30-45 minutes of us calling. read more

I am currently laying in a half-broken bed that's is inverted so much that I had to put pillows under the mattress to maintain some sanity. From what I can tell, they need to keep up with the wear and tear of these cabins a little better. read more

AMAZING stay at Awesome Mountain Sunsets I recently stayed at Awesome Mountain Sunsets which is in Parkside Resort with my family which, and it was definitely a trip to remember. The cabin was great - TONS of kitchen and entertaining space which was perfect for our large group. We ventured into Gatlinburg to try out the Moonshine we'd heard so much about and eat at the Old Mill Restaurant (their corn chowder is amazing). We spent most of our time hanging around the cabin which was easy to do with the hot tub, movie room and game room. We will definitely be back to see even more Awesome Mountain Sunsets from this cabin. read more

Overall this place is really nice. Our cabin "American Dream" is so cozy and nice. The furnishings are updated and clean. It had everything we needed and more. Everything worked. This place had an amazing view and it was nice having TVs everywhere even outside by a gas fireplace and the hot tub. The movie room was a real treat. The amenities were a little lack luster. The area for the kids that had the playground, zip line, basketball and the slide was a bit of a let down. It was very apparent that there had been no upkeep in quiet a bit of time. Very old and run down looking. The Grill and the indoor pool were nice and enjoyed by all. read more

We stayed in a 5 bedroom, 5 bath cabin. Turns out it was one of the oldest cabins. You are at the mercy of the owner who may not keep it up. That was our situation. For only $750 a night, you might expect a very nice place. I've seen better furniture at the Goodwill. It was in need of repair and was well worn. Only one closet had several hangers. From reading previous reviews, we were in the cabin that has the carpet that is a trip hazard. The microwave turntable was broken, the firepit did not work, the grill required foil on the grates or would provide you with your daily rust requirement. All the widow sills were dusty. The couch had a cigarette burn hole in the back. One of the bathroom sinks drained slow. We called to have light bulb replaced on Friday afternoon, no replacement by Monday morning. Garbage was on the ground below the deck. We called the office to have it picked up. The office replied, "We will let the bears know not to pull the garbage out anymore". The putt-putt golf course is badly in need of repair. My impression is the management has low standards, and is a little too quick to give a smart remark. I'll look for a different place to stay next time. read more

I would not recommend, They dont deliver like they advertise for two days now and they still say no delivery but even at check in they said they deliver. The pool safety is not good my kids almost fell from three levels due to the netting being broke and when I told the office about it I was handed zip ties and was told if it's bothering me I could fix it. The cabin is beautiful but let's be honest most cabins are if the resort is a being ran like this there are plenty more to choose from. When I told the broker about the experience no sorry, just a response of ( They should have called maintenance) . Two days left to go let's see what happens. read more

This place was terrific. Nestled about two miles off of the main strip in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, it's minutes away from Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains. As a family, we've had some tragic events in recent years, and so we've made it point to gather every summer even though we live in different parts of the country. There is 20 of us, ranging from my 82-year-old father to a host of young children. So, we needed a place that would comfortably house us all. We found this log cabin home, which had all of the amenities, including five bedrooms, a hot tub, a fire pit, a movie theatre, a pool table and a large kitchen. On the property, we had a large pool with water slides, a mini golf course, and hiking and jogging trails. We truly had a memorable time. Plus, we broke away a couple of times to go white-water rafting, ATV riding, and to a water park. We also toured the Smokey Mountains and hit downtown Gatlinburg. Soooo much to do! I would strongly recommend this place. We all felt sad leaving after a five-day visit, which is a good thing. read more

The staff here didn't care that guest were without power in frigid temps for 2 days! They finally told us we could go to a hotel once it was dark and iced over! Not to mention, the dishwasher was moldy with dirty dishes, the fridge was dirty and there was a faulty fireplace. NEVER ever will come back to this resort. Thanks for a NIGHTmare of a Christmas. This actually seems to be a regional thing, so anyone coming from out of the area should be prepared . I didn't notice this mentioned on the reservation confirmation emails so thought I'd through it out there . We had a wonderful time and if I'm ever back in the area I would definitely stay there again . The cabins and views are amazing read more

The cabin itself was beautiful. I wouldve given it 5 stars except... 2 hours after checking out, on our way back home (which is 5 hours away) I realized I left 3 expensive shirts in the closet. I called and was told that when housekeeping cleaned the cabin the shirts would be returned. I even offered to have the shirts shipped at my own expense. However, housekeeping claims they found no shirts. I am 100% certain the shirts were there left behind. If housekeeping is claiming they weren't there, then housekeeping is lying and stealing them. When I brought this to the resort office staff, they did nothing to rectify the situation, only giving attitude when I said they should keep an eye on their housekeeping crew. Great cabin, but be super careful not to leave anything behind or a housekeeper will benefit from your loss! read more

Beautiful scenery the cabin was clean but the kitchenware is outdated no sharp knives. Maintenance came promptly when I called and they were called 1234 times washing machine didn't work the gas grill still had gas pumping when it was turned off, In the refrigerator temperature had to be adjusted, Who knew you weren't supposed to put food in the refrigerator. The big disappointment as noted in previous reviews is that if you leave anything in this cabin you will probably not get it back not only did they not look but each time I called there was a different excuse right up to well there's somebody else in the cabin we can't look now. I left my prescription glasses which I cannot understand how anyone would wear them and they were very costly and I probably will never see them again. read more

We stopped by the office to report a maintenance issue regarding a missing remote & by the time we left the office & got to our cabin, the maintenance man was already there & helped us. Staff was very friendly!!! The main pool area was very nice & clean as well. We will be back to this facility! read more

Anybody else being told they can only have a credit to be used in one year, but no refund? I already have two other vacations planned, so I don't need a credit....I want my deposit back and they won't budge. I don't have a singed contract though so I may just do a credit card dispute to get my money since I did the deposit on a card. Shame on these people. I get that they need cashflow, but this is unfair to the consumer. read more

Overall our experience was very good. The cabin was grand, the views magnificent, and the facilities well cared for. Although having neighbors was not an issue, the cabins were closer together than the website led us to believe and I'm not sure the views from every cabin is as good as it was from ours. The location of the resort was perfect as we could get onto the Parkway to Gatlinburg and the National Forest without needing to deal with the horrendous traffic in Pigeon Forge. We were surprised to find so few supplies in the cabin. One roll of paper towels, 4 dishwasher detergent packs, no salt or pepper, and teeny tubes of shampoo in the showers were not sufficient for the 12 of us for a week. While the place seemed cleaned when we arrived, after a few days it became clear that a deep cleaning was in order. The furniture was stained, the carpets not fresh, the air vents were dusty, and many lightbulbs were burned out. The movie theatre room was the crowned jewel of the house, according to the 6 teens, especially the ability to connect with YouTube. The kids loved the game room, but also discovered the shooting game counsel without a cord to plug into the wall. It sits there just taking up space blocking the view. Washer and drier both worked well. Dishwasher functioned but was low level model for this grand cabin. The water filter in the fridge needed changing or something was growing in the water lines as both ice and water had a foul taste. The girls were a little grossed out discovering leopard print Joe Boxer thong underwear left in the clothes dryer from the previous guests. We don't plan to come back to Tennessee, but would stay here again and recommend Parkside Resorts to others. read more

We were told before we got here cabin would probably be ready at 3:30. Three couples hustled to be on time and it's now 5:30 and we are still waiting to even get directions to cabin. Keep getting " it's being inspected". I think the White House could be cleared in this amount of time. Poorly managed. read more

RENTERS BEWARE! We had booked a wedding (May 2020) and was canceled due to a little thing called a PANDEMIC. We had rented Rocky Top Lodge, which sleeps 40 people. Parkside did not allow us to cancel the lodge and they claim they are independently owned and that Parkside just does the management. When asked for the owners name, so we could see if they would have some compassion, we were denied that information We had already paid $2300 so it was a use it or lose it situation. Given those grim facts they so kindly gave us until the end of 2021 to use it or lose it. We have rushed to try to put together as many people we could to use the cabin and use it before we lose it. We booked the 40 person cabin with about 17 people, again because we are in the middle of a pandemic. We were sent the invoice that showed we still owe $228, which is for a "processing fee" and cleaning. I called and spoke with Thomas the manager to see if we could at least get the remaining balance waived as a courtesy, given all the circumstances. He was not sensitive to our situation and went so far as to tell me about the "contract that was written by their attorneys" didn't allow for refunds. I again told him we were not looking for a refund but a complimentary waiver of said "processing/cleaning fees". Thomas was inflexible and rude, chuckling while we spoke. I am sure it is a beautiful area and we will be there to "use" our money, but be very aware you have better options with a hotel based on cancellation options. read more

The house we stayed in was lovely, and the pool area was very nice. The other outdoor activities are not well maintained -- the ziplines my kids were looking forward to were totally broken -- and this and the other outdoor activities were a big reason we chose this resort despite the high price. We stayed 3 nights, and called about the ziplines on the morning after our first night - they were not fixed by the time we left, and obviously had been broken for a while, so no one seemed to be checking/maintaining this area at all. There were no basketballs by the baskets, though they did deliver some after we called, and the DVD library advertised--even in the handout we got when we checked in-- was not available at all (we were just told they're not doing that now-- I guess due to COVID, though since they gave us the list, I don't see why they couldn't offer curbside pickup). The sand volleyball court has been planted with grass and the net taken down (though the sign was still up and it was still on the map and website). There was poison ivy growing on the wooden play structures and the swingset was rickety. The plastic net under the basketball goals (to return the balls) had a big hole in it. The trash cans by the houses are not bear-proof (in fact they have no lids at all) and we saw bears in the resort enjoying food from the trash cans and strewing it along the hillsides! It felt like they just don't care about keeping up any of these things. They also didn't even apologize for any of the things we asked about (DVDs, ziplines, basketballs) being broken/missing. Website looks like all these things are there, but must have been made when all was brand new. At this point, it's false advertising. If you care about these things, CALL AND ASK before you reserve. read more

This place was completely misleading.They gave me wrong directions to their campgrounds.Then I find out I am in a cabin which was 20 miles away from the actual resort. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!! This so called "resort" also lists many amenaties, the crazy thing is that they are not even built yet!!!! This company pretty much spoiled my whole trip to tennessee.I was supposed to meet my family there on vacation who was staying at another cabin.I was told I was on the same resort as they were.It turns out I was much further away then expected.A whole other town away! If it wasn't for being in the height of thier season, I would have found another hotel to stay at and disputed the whole charge. But unfortunately all other hotels in town were booked. This company made for a very rough stay and a bad trip all together.I would never return to this place even if my family does. read more
