Magpie's is a store on main street in Leduc that sells local and handmade items. It's located in…read morethe same building as The Leduc Coffee Shop (coffee shop is to the left when you walk in and Magpie's is on the right). Magpie's is great because it's a store that features unique items. Everything here from local (Leduc, Beaumont ad Edmonton area) artisans and producers. There's a huge variety of gifts here, kitchen stuff, jewellery, art, bath products, and greeting cards. They also have a nice selection of kids toys as well. I always enjoy popping into Magpie's to see what's new because the vendors change every once in a while (maybe every few months). It's one of the stores where if you see something you like you'll want to buy it, because you can't be sure it'll be there next time. But the one thing that always stands out to me is the staff. Everything I've come in the person working is very friendly and helpful. One time I came in and talked to the lady working about needing to find a thank you card for a friend I was going to visit in Vancouver. Came in a few weeks later to look for something else and the same lady remembered me and asked how my trip to Vancouver was. Super friendly staff, really cool unique products that support local artisans and craftspeople is always a win. If you're in Leduc make sure to stop into Magpie's.

Another west end favourite for us !!…read more Ooooh, I was nervous walking in !! Two boys & Mama was eating ice cream (Eeep!) Ice cream could spell trouble, but did it ??? No way Jose !! With, ice cream in hand, we were welcomed with smiles and good afternoons. (PHEW) Had the boys also been eating ice cream this may have not been the case. Note: I wouldn't tempt their good natures (haha) We came today specifically to look at books, there's always a great selection here. The staff chatted with the boys, asking them questions with authentic interest. The $5 fill a bag rock station is great !! Enjoy !

Schwartz in the U.S. the variety is good and they have lots of educational and creative toys. This is not where you come for video games. Playmobil fans in your life already know about this store for sure. If you're looking for make believe, dress up, puppets, or educational toy/gifts this should definitely be on your list! The customer service here is what you would hope for from a boutique toy store; attentive and knowledgeable. See you soon!

Made the trek out to Camrose this AM to visit Quantum Comics & Collectibles in their new location…read more(previously in Mill Woods). Beautiful location with lots of room & plenty of free street parking, too. We made the trip out today to pick up Batman fidget spinners for a birthday party this weekend - great price and in a case! Our little guy picked out a couple funkopops today ( huge selection) and the hubs of course picked up some comics. We even got an acrylic case to wall mount his favourite comic. The owner, Bodhi, was there today. Super knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the various gaming options. It's on the west end tucked away off Stony Plain road by the cemetery, kinda of a seedy area. I came here because my toddler was teething really bad and they carry the best teething oil for aches and pain. I ordered online and it was ready the next day for pickup. Once you get there and go upstairs it's filled with beautiful children's clothing and toys. I didn't see anything for children older than 2 though. It is on the pricier side so if your looking for "bougie" this is it. The staff at the front was very nice and friendly, she was on the phone and let me browse.

Ordered something for Christmas a FULL MONTH IN ADVANCE from one of their "sales" (I say this…read morebecause their sales typically bring them back down to what normal prices are). Had to follow up more than once to see if they actually had plans to ship us our item, and were eventually notified that they're not sending it, but only after hounding them. Were they going to wait until after Christmas to tell us? We could have bought the same thing on sale at the time of purchase elsewhere and now I can't even buy it in time for Christmas. We've always done our Christmas shopping here because our kids like to physically go in and make their lists, but we'll never go back. Done with these guys.

Winners is a weird store. Not weird as in bad, just weird as in I either go to Winners and want to…read morebuy everything or I go in, and want to buy nothing and leave disgusted. My most recent visit to Winners in Leduc was scenario A (want to buy everything). Winners is a discount store (so they say) that has deals on a wide variety of products from clothes to cosmetics to accessories to home decor to candy to toys. I've been to several Winners before and sometimes the deals are really awesome, but other times the Winners price isn't that great of a deal. It kind of depends on what you're looking for, and on the original retail price of the item your looking at. I just say this because it's easy to look and go "omg 50% off" and want to buy everything, but not everything is that great of a deal. That being said I do generally like Winners. I don't usually find much in the clothing department, just because their plus size selection is limited to one rack, but I always like browsing the accessories and the purses and handbags at Winners. The have some random brands I don't recognize, but then ones I do like Guess. On my last visit, I found a nice, basic gray over the shoulder purse that is perfect for traveling, and it was only $25, which seems like a great deal to me. I also really like browsing the home department section at Winners because they have cool home decor stuff, but it isn't just double decker bus figures and Buddha statues, there's more practical home stuff. Case in point the 6 pack fo wooden hangers for pants that I got. Winners can be quite busy, particularly on weekends or after holidays, but Leduc's Winners is nice. It's a decent size (not quite as big as some of the ones in Edmonton) and it's always clean and well organized. The staff are pretty friendly, and even when being the 15th person in line for the checkout counter it doesn't take too long to check out. I don't always shop at Winners, but I generally like it when I do.

This…read morelocation offers the normal things that you would expect to find in a Winners such as hair products, mens, ladies, and childrens fashion, home decor, etc. but I find that the selection of products is just not as good as other stores that I visit. The selection of products and especially sizes of clothing is consistently limited and picked over at the Leduc store. This store does have a clearance section, but I find that it is usually filled with broken items that are not really discounted at all. My recommendation would be to go to one of the Winners locations in Edmonton as the selection in these stores tends to be better.
